Another example of the unbiased media: http://americandigest.org/mt-archives/bad_americans/the_atlantic_mo.php Anyone feel free to display such a hit job on Obama, with the caveat that it wasn't started by a Democrat, it has to be a Republican who did it.
-
Hindsight being 20/20, you are correct. However, during Desert Storm, to build an alliance of Arab country's to prevent a regional war President Bush the elder had to agree not to overthrow Saddam. We just agreed to liberate Kuwait and damage Iraq's military to the point it was no longer a threat to it's neighbors.

100 years is an Obama lie. McCain said that it was possible that we could maintain a presence in Iraq like we do in South Korea, Japan, and Germany, a permanent duty station. NOT to fight the war another 100 years as Obama has said McCain wants to do. I would hope they don't make a permanent base over there, it would be a crappy duty station for the military members. And according to the Iraqi government, as they take over more and more, they want us out of their country, and I'm most definately OK with that. What I don't want, is to leave he job unfinished and have to go back and do it all over again.

How do you know what America will and won't vote for WarPig? I think you are taking a pretty cynical view of America. I do really believe if Obama had picked Clinton that this election would have already be decided and nothing McCain could have done or said would have changed that. You keep circling the same answer. Obama is the one who said he would debate McCain "anytime, anywhere" and so far has refused to debate McCain. So what do you call a person who say's one thing and does another? Isn't that a LIAR? If you don't want to keep talking about it, then you should stop bringing it up in the conversation. I'll even help by changing the subject, let's kick around Obama's Iraq position. Obama will pull our troops out of Iraq responsibly regardless of what conditions are on the ground. With the end really within sight of a complete and total victory in every sense of the word, Obama wants to withdrawl. In the Democratic debates, Obama did say "As President, I do reserve the right to send troops back into Iraq if necessary". So, when military deaths are very low, complete victory is within grasp, Obama is going to pull out. But if things goes south in Iraq, Obama reserves the right to throw our military back into a meat grinder of a conflict where casualties will be high to finish a job he wouldn't allow them to finish in the first place? Talk about inexperience in forgien policy and military matters. On the issue of the "BUSH DOCTRINE". I admit I was also at a loss when Charles Gibson brought it up in the Palin interview, and I even deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom under the "Bush Doctrine". The term Bush Doctrine is a media nickname for our national security doctrine, which used to be the US will not attack unless attacked first, then after 9-11 was changed to what it is now, to be proactive in preventing attacks and take action when necessary, and has been modifed twice more since it's inception. So in fact it was a trick question. But hey, he got her, no whining from me, at least she didn't say "that's above my pay grade" or shrug his shoulders and say "what can I say?".

WarPig, we keep coming back around to the same points because of statements like the above. Hillary isn't change, but 35 year serving US Senator Joe Biden is? Who's drinking the Kool Aid now? Who said a African American man and a caucasion woman would be a controversial ticket? No one on the Republican side has every suggested such a thing. So where do you get this impression? Oh wait, I remember, during the Democratic Primaries a candidates race and sex were made into political talking points by the Democratic candidates/campaign staff. And about your Matt Damon youtube commentary, the reason Matt Damon is part of the Hollywood blissfully ignorant crowd: http://ace.mu.nu/archives/273243.php Matt Damon, Genius The Website that Created The "Sarah Palin Quotes" Even Identified Them as Parodies That Had Been Made Up Very Smart Sophisticate Fell for the Obvious Goof, Too So Matt Damon can't tell the difference between real and parody? Well, at least he has an Oscar.

But there is a debate over experience. And Obama has been pariticpating in it, downplaying the Governor's own experience in a effort to bolster his own thin experience resume. And it's a weak arguement, Bill Clinton was a Governor with zero foriegn policy experience, and so was Jimmy Carter. So it's OK for a Democratic Governor or a 3 year US Senator to be President, but it's out of line for a Republican Governor to be Vice President? But Obama has that "judgement" thing going for him, doesn't he? He has so much judgement, that he passed on a candidate to be his VP that garnered 18 million votes on her own. If Obama had been experienced enough he would have realized that asking Clinton to be VP would have pretty much locked up the election for the Dem's during the announcement ceremony. And what did he just do? He had to go with hat in hand back to "Daddy" Clinton for help. You know, the same Clinton the Obama campaign mocked by playing "Addicted to Love" after President Clinton gave his speech at the Democratic Convention. I don't even like Clinton and I thought that was a low class thing to do to a former President. Everyone is free to make up their own mind, but if Obama can get a no brainer such as who he should have chosen for VP wrong, then the possiblities of mis-steps by the "Duh 1" is going to be mind numbing. Even Joe Biden admitted at a townhall meeting that Hillary was a better VP choice than he was: ;D And again, Obama has refused every debate invitation McCain has presented. Obama hasn't invited McCain to debate him, he just keeps saying "anytime, anywhere", but hasn't. Soon he won't have a choice as to debate or not.
-
Yea Rev, once you sober up, explain why Governor Palin has a 80% approval rating from Alaskan's. Then you can explain why Obama got himself into a debate as to who has the most experience, him or Palin. Then go on to explain why Obama keeps saying he will debate McCain "anytime, anyplace" but has so far refused at least 10 invitations from McCain to debate. Obama is only going to do the 3 debates that election laws require him to do, so explain why the Democratic candidate is so afraid to debate McCain.

We heard from our Texan in Houston. Power is out but he and family are fine after riding out the storm.

You want to hang Cheney, Rumsfield, Wolfiwitz, and Rove in the White House lawn? So much for intelligent conversation.

Let's not stop just yet, I can be civil as needed. First point that needs to be made, Condi Rice was not Secretary of State during 9-11. Retired Joint Chief of Staff, Secretary of State Colin Powell was Secretary of State during 9-11. But I don't think he should have been fired either. In fact, if Colin Powell was running for President he would be first in line to get my vote, that's how little I think 9-11 was his fault. The progression of terrorism goes all the way back to Beruit, when a suicide bomber killed 243 Marines and Sailors, men who were hamstrung by the Rules of Engagement that allowed the enemy to operate in the open without fear of return fire unless they were caught in the act of firing on US military, and THEN permission had to be obtained to fire back. Spin all you like, but I have TALKED to men who have been there at that time, I was myself 6 months away from being caught in that same barracks myself. Then we move into Somolia. Care to tell me how many American's died there trying to fight a outlaw militia and feed the hungry? Let's move onto Rwanda, where on your boy's Clinton watch, the UN Forces chased out of the county by machete weilding thugs. Understand that? The whole world got their ass kicked by thugs running around with machete's cutting people up as they saw fit in some shit hole country in Africa. Care to talk about "Oil for food" in program? On Clinton's watch. The UN Chief stole millions from the world and got away scott free. Corruption ran rampent, and Clinton didn't do a thing about it, that "idiot cowboy" is the one who brought it to public knowledge and put a stop to it. Care to talk about the failures of the Clinton Admistration to deal with with "bin Laden" problem? How bin Laden was able to escape certain death or capture in Afghanistan because the Clinton Administation telegraphed our play? Don't believe me, look at the 9/11 Commission Report. I can do this all day. Put up all the smiley's you want. I'm ready and more than willing to put forth the arguement that kicking ass is better than getting your ass kicked. America is the best county on the planet and we shouldn't take crap off anyone. I'm more than OK with that.

LOL. I thought you weren't an Obama supporter WarPig? That reads right off "Duh 1's" website. Roe vs Wade isn't going anywhere, too much of the public wants it. Partial birth abortions, when the head of the baby is delivered and crushed, yes that needs to stop, that is not a medical procedure. If they would make public one film of a partial birth abortion, they would be illegal forever by popular demand. Want higher taxes, bigger government, redistribution of wealth (if you make too much money the government taxes it away from you and gives it to someone else as welfare), a weaker military, and if Obama get's his way a better standing in the world, you know all those countries that can't defend themselves feed their own population or support their own economy, will think much better of the US. Then by all means, vote for Obama. Voting with Bush 95% of the time? I suppose you are talking about McCain. THAT STATISTIC is from one year, and most of those votes were procedural votes that Bush got 95% of the vote on anyway, including Obama's. McCain's lifetime vote with Bush has been as low as 77%. Since we are talking statistics, how has Obama voted in line with the leadership of the Senate that HAS THE LOWEST APPROVAL RATINGS IN THE HISTORY OF SENATE APPROVAL RATINGS? If you guessed 100% of the time that Obama voted with the Senate Majority that has the lowest approval ratings in HISTORY, then you would be correct. There is nothing wrong with the Bush Doctrine, it puts the defense of America and her citizens first. The Clinton Doctrine allowed the circumstances for the 9-11 attacks to occur. You want to play paddy cakes with terrorists? That's one choice. Responding to an act of terrorism as an act of war seems good to me. The terrorist call it a holy war, the Clinton Administration called it a crime. Republican's don't have all the best ideas. A Democratic President won WWII. And I'm glad he did. What I can't understand is American's who choose to criticize and insult a President who won't tolerate terrorism. I'm glad Democrats FDR and Truman were President at the time they were and grateful for the decisions they made that saved American lives. Anyone who thinks 9-11 would have been the last attack in the following 7 years if Al Gore was President is a person who is just asking for more of the same type of attacks. Gore learned appeasement from the master of appeasement, President Clinton.

Nothing personal my friend, just setting the record straight is all. Speaking of records.... Obama is raising quite a stink over earmarks Palin was for or not for or asked for as a Mayor. Doesn't matter that Obama in his short 3 years as a US Senator has gotten $976 million dollars in earmarks for different things, that's a pace of nearly One Million Dollars Every Single Working Day as a US Senator for Obama. I found a couple of examples that may speak to as Obama's principled stance on earmarks: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2008/sep/11/obama-museum-earmarks-draw-fire/ "Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama tried to direct more than $3 million in taxpayer funds to a Chicago museum whose chairman is one of the Illinois senator's largest campaign fundraisers. So the WHOLE truth is, that earmark didn't go through, but the attempt by Obama was made.
-
^^^^^^ That right this is probably the biggest lie about Palin other than the lie over who birthed her son Trig. I'll go dig it up for you if you continue to insist that this total fabrication is the truth. The truth is, Governor Palin increased funding for programs that support teenage and unwed mothers by 400%. Those who wanted it increase 500% are the people who claim Governor Palin cut funding.
-
We'll see about her record WarPig. As this is being typed, the Obama campaign has at team of 30 lawyers and untold number of reporters in Alaska researching Governor Palin's public record, as reported by the Washington Post. They have been up there a few days already, so far not a peep from the press or Obama campaign as to what has been found.
-
Yeaaa riiiight. It couldn't have possibly have nothing to do with the fact that she's a sitting Governor of a state with a 80% approval rating. Governor that has a record fighting corruption in government. A record of being fiscally responsible. A record of reducing taxes on taxpayers. A record of fighting wasteful spending by the government.
-
Naw, it's cool, I don't want to be a basher of the game. I was hoping for a few things that we won't get and a playing feel that's different than I prefer. I don't hate the game, just not thrilled with a few aspects of it, which by the way seem to be popular with others... so to each their own I suppose.
-
I never played Graw, I heard someone else compare it to Graw online. But yes, it seems a lot more like CoD than SOCOM to me except than it's not a FPS. I'm really hoping that Zipper is working on a new game now.
-
If CA was 1 step away from the classic style of SOCOM. The Confrontation is going to be 4 steps away in the wrong direction. The game plays more like CoD than any SOCOM game I ever played. There's too much going on, birds, the dust from running, have to push a extra button to run. If the way the game played kept pace with the graphics one could hardly complain. But game play suffers. You can see further than you can hit with your gun when using a M4 or STG. If you turn when running the images on the screen will blur. And that six axis thing is the worst. The proximety mic works, even when I can't talk out to my own teamates. There's entirely too much stuff to hide behind too. After a couple of days, my first impression, they tried to do too much and lost sight of what made SOCOM great.
-
already traded it in towards the Confrontation disc. I had to, that game made me feel car sick if I played it too long. Plus it's a respawn, plus FPS. But mainly the feeling of going to vomit if I played it more than 90 minutes was the deal breaker for me.

The Sarah Palin bio that they should have run at the Republican Convention.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xMJ7l_Xa70&eurl=http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/07/video-the-rejected-sarah-palin-convention-bio/

Character movement is entirely too slow, even when running. Character is too large. Takes too long to wind up and throw a grenade. Graphics are impressive. Hit detection seems very good.

That's not what happened. I will try to be brief as possible. The infighting in Iraq should not have been a suprise for the US government and military, hindsight being 20/20 and all. During Desert Storm (1991 liberation of Kuwait) the Shi-ites in the south of Iraq rose up against Saddam Hussien thinking the US was going to remove him from power. We didn't and Saddam made those who rose up against him pay a very heavy price. Plus Saddam was always pitting Shi-ites against Sunni's and he crapped all over the Kurds in the North. Add in al Queda, Syrians, Saudi's, and Iranians coming into Iraq to continually stir things up, the infighting in Iraq can be better understood. The lack of trust the Iraqi people had for the US for what they percieve as the US leaving them hanging after Desert Storm is justifiable, so they let the terrorists and insurgents operate freely. One can hardly blame the Iraqi people for their lack of trust for the US government given that history. Obama was against the war from the beginning. Nothing to add to that or berate the man for his point of view. He gave his point of view before being elected to the US Senate. Once in the Senate years later, the surge was pushed by McCain and General Petreaus. Almost all Democrats and quite a few Republicans oppossed it. Obama made the mistake of saying on television that the surge wouldn't ever work, and then refused to admit the surge was working when it was obvious, and now only with the caveat that the surge didn't work in the original time from admits the surge was a success.

Yea i totally agree, How about we debate on where to get such RELIABLE info..? ;D We can start with MSNBC, NBC, CNN, NY Times, and any news reports from Washinton State - Oregon State - San Francisco - or Berkley are out. Don't consider Loose Change. I prefer video's over "quotes". Anything that is edited or taken out of context is off limits. PS, if the New SOCOM Beta is a preview of things to come, I'm not happy. I played two maps tonite and spent the rest of the time on CA and talking politics because I couldn't stay connected to the New SOCOM. I'm depressed now.

A point made from overseas, I do love a free press: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/columnists/fergus_shanahan/article1647092.ece Democrats and their Lefty media backers had been sneering that Palin is a small-town nobody, a hick from Alaska put into a job way beyond an inexperienced woman. The Euro's give me little reason to agree with them, but this is one of those times. Even the Euro's think the American news reporters are unfairly biased.

Sure Chili, journalism is just as corrupt as anything else. But instead of typing up something that can't be bounced against what is suppossed to be a reputable source, well that's like posting on the Huffington Post or Daily Kos. People can choose to believe what they will. But if someone learns about something they weren't previously aware of, or causes them to do their own homework, then the effort is worth it. I'm not telling anyone how to vote. I recommend that everyone be informed of the issues on both sides and vote for what they believe in. Participate in the process, just make the effort to be informed is my advice.
