BamBam's right, it may be your PS3. Before my PS3 I never had problems joining a room and rarely got booted. For a while after my PS3 I was getting a couple of boots a night and had trouble joining some rooms. Hooked the PS2 back up and haven't had those problems since. I think the PS3 is just too advanced for the PS2 games and sometimes there is a conlict in matching things up so that they work, and thus the connection and game problems.

I can only imagine what was said, the link didn't work. AIDS is real, the drugs to improve your condition are improving, BUT it's better to avoid AIDS at all costs. All the sudden masturbation isn't such a bad thing. And that's the conversations you must have with your children. IT SUCKS. I hadn't felt that uncomfortable since just before I got laid for the first time. My baby is 20 years old. I don't know if she is having sex, but I know she is using a condom if she is having sex. You have to use words like: "THIS WILL KILL YOU", "YOU WILL DIE", "THERE ARE NO SYMPTOMS", and "YOU WON'T KNOW UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE". The absolute worst thing a parent can do is ASSUME the child will figure it out. Children (myself included) have a way of figuring it out on their own the hard way. Lucky for me I was pre-AIDS, but not by much. Be a good parent, teach your children about the world they live in. I got lucky, my kid is way more intelligent than I was at her age. Which tells me, it's all in the approach. I wasn't talked to intelligently, and that had to do with the times at that time. We are in a different time, so we need to do things different. I protect what's mine and am willing to do whatever it takes, and I hope you do the same no matter how uncomfortable it makes you feel. I've ranted a bit. But I have to. You don't have to be a homosexual or a drug addict to get AIDS. Protect what's yours. Have the "hard" conversations with your children. They will appreciate it eventually. And so will you.

I never saw Holes, I will have to check it out. I really liked him in that golf movie about Francis Ouimet who at 19 years old and with a 10 year old caddy beat Harry Vardon to win the US Open and Vardon was considered the greatest golfer of all time then and still is in England.

Why ya gotta be liek that Hog? I worded the title a specific way for a reason. ;D Sorry, I'm a lifelong UK fan, I thought this was a serious discussion :-\

Really? I think he's got great comic timing and he can actually act. I've enjoyed every movie I have seen Lebouf in so far.

He's not going to play at UK until after high school is behind him. They have just offered him a full scholarship and he has submitted his letter of intent. The kid is still 4 years away from playing at Kentucky.

I can't stand these conversations. I don't understand how anyone would want to watch a sporting event where participants are using performance enhancing drugs. Lyle Alzedo dead in his 40's from too many steroids, earlier generations of the sterioid drug of course, I'm sure what they are using now is much safer.... Marion Jones stripped of her Olympic medals. But she gets to keep all the money she won while she was cheating. Nice role model for young people. I much prefer atheletes like Wilma Rudolph. She had Polio as a child and still became a world class sprinter and Olympic Gold Medalist. I hope Roger Clemens is innocent, if not, he's just another cheater and all he accomplished means nothing.

I read that the discovery of this oil reserve is one of the largest in almost 80 years. Anybody know any details on it? Cause I can't find anything specific online. here you go: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/11/us/11oil.html?_r=1&ei=5088&en=98fb754459a659ae&ex=1365566400&adxnnl=1&oref=slogin&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss&adxnnlx=1207912392-VFiKndAnHT+8dPx4pbM7JA

It's not really a complicated issue as those in our government make it out to be. - The oil companies are making record profits every quarter. They buy the oil and then sell the oil. And laugh all the way to the bank, that you can believe. - OPEC and other oil producing nations control how much oil is pumped and refined, thus bringing supply and demand into the equation. OPEC used to pump out 12 million barrels a day, now they pump out 2 million barrels a day. The supply is lower and the demand is higher, so the price goes up. - We buy our oil from Canada, OPEC country's (Saudi, Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, etc), and Venezuela primarily. HOWEVER, just recently found in the middle of the country (Montana, Dakotas, Wyoming) a vast oil reserve just waiting to be drilled up, but OUR government won't allow it. We have vast oil reserves off the western coast of the U.S. and in the Gulf of Mexico and our government severely limits how much oil we can drill from there. Don't foget about Anwar, our government again won't allow us to drill for oil there. THE ONLY REASON we are not oil independent is because OUR government keeps passing laws that prevent us from becoming so. Gas is .25 cents a gallon in Iraq and Saudi Arabia and approaching $4 a gallon in the U.S. Bottom line, our government can do something about the price of oil, but they won't.

Who's running SOCOM? The U.S. Government? I find the whole rank thing comical. My rank sucks, I havent' been a Captain since SOCOM 2. But I manage more kills than deaths, and with my clan more wins than losses. But I'm still a Ensign in CA. A noob at first glance. "I'm a four star, bow to me...." Come to a ranked room that's not a rank up and I'll show you some "bowing". This topic get's entirely too much attention. Rank means crapola. The cheaters made it so. Get over it.

Our gas prices are due in large part to our government that doesn't allow us to harvest our own oil. We need to get off oil and come up with a renewable engergy source. We are wasteful, and we pay for it. When's the last time you saw a gas company go bankrupt? It's the safest investment in the market. All the oil we need is below our feet, but we can't drill for it because environmental law prohibits it. The gas companies are making record profits buy the oil elsewhere, so why drill? The answer is complex, but this fact is true. In an open market, the more you buy the better price you get, except when it comes to the U.S. and oil recently. We are being gouged and being gouged badly. This year I will buy a full face helmet (about the cost of two fill ups for my car) and I will ride the motorcycle much deeper into winter this year, with a full face I can do 35 degree's easy. Getting 50 miles to the gallon, taking a couple of extra minutes to throw on the leather. We are well on our way to looking like Europeans, using mass transit and mopeds to get around. But we won't drill for our own oil thanks to the government we elect every few years. They don't care, they ride in motorcades, travel on government money, and get expense accounts to pay their way on "official business". An elected member of the House of Representatives not appointed to a special position makes $150,000 a year with expense accounts for travel, cars, motel rooms in the name of official business. Anyone think that $3.50 a gallon for gas bothers them? Nope, you not voting for them will bother them. Our government can do something about this, but they don't. They won't until we demand it.

McCains speech implies, we are warring for oil? (...hmmmmm!):

President Truman dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Presdient Truman made the right choice. At the time the Japanese government had resorted to Kamakazi attacks (planes crashing into U.S. ships once they run out of bombs) and were unable to supply their forward bases such as Iwo Jima, where those Japenese soldiers were told "you are going to die here, you mission is to take 10 American's with you". Imagine how bad it would have been on the Japan mainland. Instead of a final push with conventional forces to achieve the victory, President Truman decided to use the A-bomb to save American lives. It may sound harsh, but you have to consider the sneak attack at Pearl Harbor. The Japanese were the first to violate the rules of conventional warfare. I would have preferred that the A-bomb was not necessary, but at the time the Japanese were a fanatical and suicidal group, and I can understand the logic of not throwing our own men up against such a battle if it was avoidable. If in the position to make the same choice under the same circumstances, I would have dropped the bombs. President Truman was a Democrat. Back in the 1940's, all American's had "stones". So one can't fairly compare the Democratic Party of the 1940's to the Democratic Party of today. There is no comparison. Today, not all American's are interested in victory or dealing harshly with those who attack America. I do condone what Democratic President Truman did, he saved hundreds of thousands of lives dropping those two bombs. We didn't want any part of WWII, but we were invited by virtue of a dishonorable attack. We didn't start it, didn't want any part of it, but were forced into it. How it ended is not up for debate, in my mind anyway. -

Oil is part of it, because we are too environmentally uptight to drill up what's under our own feet. Does anyone here want to live like a Amish? I didn't think so, so we do have to protect the oil supply. Make you mad? It should. A minority group of tree huggers have put a strangle hold on the idea of us being oil independent by getting Congress to make laws that prevent us from being oil independent. They do want us back living like the Amish. -
A lively thread. Supply and demand friends, and living in the real world. Taking in those convicted of crimes is nothing new in the military. But the sudden realization that those in the military (especially as far as Marines are concerned) are not your parents and not going to take any of your crap is usually pretty sobering for the wayward. Trust me when I say that the Armed Forces wouldn't be doing this unless it was absolutely necessary. And why is it necessary? Becuase enough who meet the standards without a waiver are not volunteering. It's either things like this, or look for a draft in the future.

Don't get me started on the most feckless part of our government. Record low public ratings, can't get anything really important done, spends all their time trying to divide the country. The whole group makes me sick to my stomach.

We had a similiar thread on our site, this thread has the potential to be hilarious. Here's one from 101st: HogWild (War Commander): "We got numbers, pull back everyone, pull back." HotONez dies in the middle of the map. HogWild: (After the round) "Onez why didn't you pull back?" HotOnez: "You meant all the way?" and something new. HogWild: "Speak up, I can't hear you." Un-named 101st player: "Need new batteries for that hearing aid Hog?" HogWild: "Yea, those batteries I borrowed from your girlfriends magic wand seem to be dead."

I've been watching it. So far it's been worth the watch. Not sure how many artistic liberties have been taken with the truth or how many assumptions have been made by the director and writers, but I look for it and watch it when it's on.

It never ceases to amaze what a bored Marine will come up with to occupy his time. Great find.
