Like facts? Okie Dokie.... Fact: It's been against the law for any politician to take money from the oil companies since the early 1900's. Also, Obama as I type this has recieved more in donations from the oil company employees than McCain. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/04/11/obama-draws-fire-for-comments-on-small-town-america/ Fact: Obama is a typical two faced politican. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article3897414.ece#cid=OTC-RSS&attr=797093 Fact: Obama campaign conducting forgien policy ahead of election. Obama was wrong then and only as of 9-3-08 has admitted the surge has worked with the caveat that it didn't work in the original time frame and Iraq hasn't met all 18 benchmarks yet, I'm not completely sure as I type this but I think they have met 14 of those benchmarks, and Obama still wants to surrender Iraq. http://dyn.politico.com/printstory.cfm?uuid=DEFCE7F3-3048-5C12-00A118B64440DF50 Fact: Obama accuses Republican's of using race among other things to win elections since 1968. But McCain wasn't always a staunch Bush backer. About Governor Palin's speech. That was a introduction to the American public for her. Obama didn't get into any specifics during his acceptance speech, and McCain probably won't either. I thought Palin put everyone on notice that she was not going to allow herself to be marginalized, belittled, or bullied around. She responded on several occassions to direct attacks against her and her record. The mainstream media and the Democrats at large underestimated Palin, and she made them pay the full price. She also pointed out what she feels are character shortcomings of the Democratic nominee, the Democratic nominee should feel free to return the favor to Palin, but I think that would be akin to pushing a boulder up a hill with a Q-Tip, because those same type character flaws probably don't exist in Palin. Palin ran for Governor of Alaska on a anti corruption and fiscal responsiblity platform, and when elected she actually cleared out a substantial amount of corruption in the Alaskan government, including several fellow Republicans. Palin herself told everyone watching about the jet, cook, chauffer, and returning excess funds to the Alaskan citizens. Yes, by all means, lets compare records on integrity, reform, working across party lines to accomplish things, and plain ole' accomplishments. But it won't happen, not on CNN or MSNBC anyway's.

Remember when I said this ^^^^. It didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would. Concerning the Democratic Mayor of Detroit: CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/09/04/detroit.mayor/index.html MSNBC / NBC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26516456/ Does not mention the fact the Mayor is a Democrat. CBS: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/04/national/main4415104.shtml ABC: http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=5723234 Does mention the fact the Mayor is a Democrat. Fox: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,416543,00.html And the really big suprise, FoxNews does NOT mention the fact the Mayor is a Democrat. It's something to think about anyway's. Know your sources of information is my point.

I only know what I gathered from many reputable news sources. "The bridge to nowhere" is not my term, Governor Palin used that term to describe the bridge, I just assume she know's what she is talking about since she's the Governor of that state. From what I understand, the bridge would have taken the place of a 15 minute ferry ride to a sparsley populated island. -
Nope, that's cool. You report facts that are proved incorrect. I looked for an admission from Fox that they were incorrect and didn't find it. Congrats, well done, you are proving to be a worthy adversary. I like it. But you my friend are at a disadvantage, which I will take full advantage of. Now you get to defend MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and PBS for making the same mistake, when it happens. I have examples from the past, but I spoke to the future tense, and I'll stick to that. Welll done, you won this round, but it's not a one round fight.

She did flip on the bridge to nowhere. After 9-11 Joe Biden wanted to give the Iranians $200 million dollars to get them to chill. I like comparisions. Let's do one. Governor Palin was offered over $200 million dollars from the federal government, she was glad to get it, instead of using it for a bridge that she decided was not necessary, she used that money to build roads for the citizens of Alaska. Right after 9-11 Joe Biden floated the idea to give $200 million to Iranians to chill them out. The fly 3 planes into 3 of our buildings, 1 plane crashes when the passengers decided to fight back. And we consider the idea of giving $200 million dollars to like minded people? I'll ask again, change things to "what"? I know what Obama has said, I listened before I made up my mind. I don't like voting for someone who doesn't seem to have a stance on anything that will cost him a vote. Next comparision? The next post I make will include refernces to reputable news sources, not that there are much left to choose from. -
Glad to see you doing more than watching T.V. That is a good thing. But CNN? The network that has nothing positive to say about President Bush? Wolf Blitzer? John Cafferty? So President Bush hasn't done anything right in 8 years? It's mathmatically impossible. But I will prove my point, and by all means feel free to post anything you find on CNN or MSNBC to make the point clear that proves me wrong. If a Democrat get's caught in a scandal, it will be aired as "US Senator (enter name)" was ...... If a Republican get's caught in a scandal, it will be aird as "Republican US Senator (enter name)" was.... You don't have to believe me, you just have to watch and believe your own eye's and ear's. How confident am I to make such a post? I won't be proven wrong unless you refer to a FoxNews report. Then we all get to see how "faux" they are.

I'm not doing what the MSM does. I just pointed out what Mrs. Obama said, the MSM ignored what she said and didn't report it for the American public. I would argue I did exactly the opposite of what the MSM did. Talk about issues that affect American's you say? OK, since you insist. John McCain: - Won't surrender Iraq to Al Queda, ever, won't even consider it. - Won't raise taxes. - Saw Russia for the problem it has proven to be, 3 years ago. - Supported a surge in Iraq that was hugely unpopular. - Is for energy alternatives, he want's cleaner energy but puts getting off foriegn oil first. - McCain has a history in America, it's well known, he blazes his own path and goes against his own party if that's what he feels. Sarah Palin: - My point was, Hillary Clinton who's husband ran a very good economic Presidency and could be counted on to lend advice to his Vice President wife, was ignored for Vice President while winning 1% less votes than the Presidential nominee. Instead, Obama chose someone who got less than 1% of the vote in the first primary in Iowa and then dropped out. So Biden helps Obama how? I admit I hated President Clinton's passive approach to international problems, but our economy was good, and that's important too. Barrack Obama: - Obama has talked about how he is going to solve problems in America? Obama got more specific than "hope and change"? Then please educate me, because that's all I have heard, "Yes we can". Yes we can do "what"? Besides surrendering to Al Queda in Iraq, attacking Pakistan (which is an ally of the U.S.), and raising taxes, what is Obama going to do? - Has never as a politician voted against party lines. Not once. That's where I've been. I've got more, I haven't even starting discussing the anti-American church, terrorist political supporters, and convited felon fund raisers. How far you want to go? -
Sorry Rev, but you are off the mark. I've seen O'Reilly cut off one mic, on a guest who wouldn't allow the other guest to speak. Calling people sheep doesn't help either. I would be extremely interested in a civil discussion on the differences of the Presidential tickets and the biased reporting of news by the main stream media. But calling people names or insuiating that they are being led around by the nose is never the answer. On the 101st site where I have a 8 month and 9 page political discussion going, I end almost every post with the same advice, be informed and vote. I'm informed, I'm going to vote, and I am definately no sheep. I'm interested in a discussion on the issues in the hopes that I would inform potential voters of things they may not know who make their decision on how to vote from the 30 second campaign ad's from the candidates. I'll try not to suggest how one should vote, only that they be informed and vote.

While I am encouraged to see those too young to vote interested in American politics. It's discouraging to see others talking down to them because the youngster's views don't fall in line with some people. Fact is, and it's undisputable, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, and the New York times is in the tank for the Obama ticket. DailyKos.com is a hard left wing site that is frequently cruel and inaccurate. At least FoxNews routinely gives both sides of an issue to tell their story. Ever hear of the show Hannity and Colmes? Ever watch Bill O'Rielly? Almost every talking point has oppossing guests to discuss the point. The advice about thinking for yourself was sound. Check and verify for yourself, and when it's time for you to vote, vote for what you believe in and don't be influenced by anyone.

Sarah Palin got more votes the first time she ran for Mayor of her hometown Wasilla, Alaska than Joe Biden got in the Democratic primaries for President this year. But if we are going to talk about family members of the candidates, then let's talk about them: Michelle Obama: (Obama's wife) "For the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country". "America is mean". What's that all about? The only thing that makes her proud of America is her husband doing well in a Presidential Primary? About being mean, is she referring to the same America that gives more charity around the world than the rest of the world combined? Hunter Biden: (Biden's son) Registered lobbyist in Washington that got plenty of money from Obama in earmarks. Me personally, I would rather them talk about the issues that affect us American's. I don't care what Michelle Obama with her college degree and $350,000 a year job thinks about America, it seems to me America has been very good to Mrs Obama. I do care that Hunter Biden is a lobbyist and is part of the wasteful spending problem in Washington DC, but at this time it is legal to be a lobbyist and to lobby for money. -
The fact that you participate in the democratic process is more important than who you vote for. I won't personally smear or demean anyone because of who they choose to vote for. I have my choice for reasons I feel strongly about because I have done my homework. I would hope everyone does that. I have sent e-mails to the candidate I have chosen to support discussing things that I disagree with him about. I think everyone should do that too. Another Obama tidbit, has not once in his 3 year U.S. Senate career voted against party lines. If you are a Democrat and believe in their policies, then you are probably OK with that.
-
Obama won't allow tranparencies about his own friendships, such as U.S. terrorist William Ayers or convicted felon Tony Rezko, just to name two. Anyone really expect him to be transparent once he's in the White House? They won't even allow Michelle Obama's senior thesis from college to be public knowledge, not that I think what she thought in college is a campaign issue this year, but it demonstrates the Obama level of secrecy. McCain is the one who stood up in the last 24 months oppossing no bid contracts, Obama was silent and so was the rest of the Senate on that issue.

The President submits a budget, Congress spends the money. Keep that in mind. Romney was my guy because I felt he would continue to fight the War on Terrorism and he is a successful businessman which is something I felt the country needs most at this time. Clinton wouldn't have been out of the question, I didn't care for his politics, but the economy was very good during the President Clinton years and he would have helped his wife with the economy. I would have considered her but the War on Terrorism is my primary concern, economy is second. Obama was never an option, and the list is long. I will summarize with just 3 points. 1) He hasn't done anything, he has no record of accomplishing anything. 2) He talks of hope and change and offers no specifics. 3) He's a shameless liar and flip flopper. Even he doesn't know what he stands for. Which leaves McCain, long record of voting against wasteful spending. Has crossed party lines to get things done. Is and has been against pork (additional spending) attached to bills from Congress. McCain is a warrior and doesn't believe in surrender for America, especially to Al Queda. Has warned us about Putin and the Russians as early as 4 years ago. Backs things he believes in, even when they are terribly unpopular, such as the Surge in Iraq as the most recent example.

Biden is a good pick, for the Republicans that is. Biden has more baggage than the luggage sorting room at LAX.

I like W for his stance on terrorism. I shudder to think of the Clinton like weak response Gore would have had to 9-11. Bombing more empty terrorist training camps, yea, that worked really well.... -

If you work for Anheuser-Busch in so much as the making of the beers, you should be worried. Why pay American's a living wage in America when you can make the product much cheaper in another country? I predict that will happen, more Americans will be out of a job. Those who deliver will be OK.

Hancock sequel is doubtful, Will Smith hasn't done a sequel yet. At 20 million a picture, he doesn't need to.

Good stuff. This kind of thing should get more attention. I generally think pro atheletes are vastly overpaid, but doing a good thing when you don't have to do it is something special.

Hancock is funny and worth the price of a theater ticket. One fight scene was a little over the top with the special effects, but it was a short fight scene. Not for younger children, they won't understand the humor.
