If the reverse had happened.. how many of us would have thought twice after hearing the same issues from the Euro's? of course, I would have thought twice about it and then went ahead and bought it anyway.. in that.. I have to see for myself, I don't trust Euro opinions that much.. LMAO.. Even if I knew ahead of time,, they would have still got my money.. It would still be disappointing. But the loyal Socom fan in me could not have resisted. besides I play Socom, I've become accustomed to being disappointed. :-\

Excellent!! I'm sure you will have a great experience. Nothing set in stone yet, but we are looking at a few options for future implementation in order to help stream line the eval process and provide a lessor wait time to applicants. -
Ok sure I had a few min. so I took a look.. not bad.. not bad at all. Maybe a little bit more researching to just weigh some options.. here are my thoughts.. although its more a matter of personal opinion rather than saying what you have put together isn't just fine. Mainboard the MSI has a good price, I’m not that fond of MSI though, I’ve found Asus main boards to be the most stable. Since you’re going with Intel for the processor, I’d also look at a Intel DX58SO as well, everything is the same except for the following..: Ram is similar at DDR1600 triple channel support however the DX only goes up to 8gb instead of 24.. lets face it who the hell is going to put 24gb of ram in? Heck 1gb is enough for most everything. The triple channel 6gb pack you linked is just fine IMO. Despite the lower max ram, the DX is a bit better than the MSI but not much. I'd take a second look at the Asus boards for their reported stability over MSI. Video, The DX supports the new ATI crossfire platform. (ATI CrossFire technology enables two ATI graphics cards to work together for ultimate 3D gaming performance and visual quality) Audio, The DX’s intel high def dolby with Sigmatel 9274D codecs and full optical outputs outperforms the rather run of the mill Realtek ALC Lan, Gigabit Lan subsystem vs again a basic Realtek 811 (about the same) The DX also has 4 more USB’s an additional IEEE1394, eSATA and Optical output. Video that’s a nice card possibly the only thing in that price range even close is a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 by PNY with a full shader model 4, but it’s a bit more money. The BFG looks great, although I’d be a bit concerned with the heat issues reported in the reviews. Hard drive.. no no no.. is that a typo? Only 74gb? Ok if anything needs changing it’s the drive you selected.. trust me forego the 10k rpm, that Western Dig is only 16mb cache and is not SATA II, go with a Seagate Barracuda, SATA II 1000gb’s 32mb cache at 7200rpm,, about the same price or a few pennies more but twice as fast, the lower rpm just means it runs cooler.. WestDig’s 10k rpm drives have a high failure rate and run HOT.. Seagate is king of the drives. DVD,, for the same price you could get an NEC instead of the LiteON. And for a only a few dollars more you could go Sony. LiteON is the bottom tier. Better built NEC’s don’t start rattling away like the cheaper made LiteOn’s do. Lastly the case… I’d probably go with a Antec Ultimate Gamer or a Thermaltake Soprano, or Shark.. or maybe the Antec Titan Black Dual Zeon with comes with a 580watt TruePower 2.O power supply included.. With cases the world is your oyster… don’t settle for a plain black box when you can get crazy custom when it comes to selecting a case.

Is quite fine, from reading your replies it appeared to me that was exactly what it was. Excuse some of our members, guys like RNG spend 3/4 of their life on forums and forget that not everyone is forum etiquette savvy. With chili, well chilli takes some getting used to.. once you do you'll find he's a great honest person.. oh.. ok.. for RNG, I admit most everyone has mad/luv for RNG as well (yeah even me . LOL). The community by large likes to dish out a lot of razzing . For new members it tends to come off the wrong way, stick around and you'll find UF's members are comprised of mature adult minded folks who genuinely respect one another despite the good nature schit giving. Even in disputes the members always maintain a level of respect for one another. In this aspect, Urgent Fury is very much a *Mature site, religion, race, creed and even age aren’t a factor, attitude and mutual respect along with a devotion for honor in online gaming determine UF’s level of Maturity of its membership. In this aspect UF is second to none. We are very much an ADULT site, however our maturity is evidenced by the actions and behavior of our members and not by the rating of allowed media for posting. Profanity is allowed but more when its done within the context of the thread it is in. However, out and out ranting with excessive profane remarks is discouraged and unappreciated. Adult only material is disallowed due to the diversity of our members, while many would not be opposed to it, UF does not require age verification for viewing or membership and hence maintains a disallowing of materials that some may find offensive. Individual clans are free to run their sites in any manner they see fit. After all its your site how you run it is your prerogative. Although personally it doesn’t bother me at all, I’m sure you can see that it is only courteous and respectable to provide a short warning to others when a link that may contain explicit material is giving. So again its cool, and understandable. I sincerely hope you and your clan become involved and choose to participate in UF’s offerings. If maturity is what you are looking for then when it comes to Urgent Fury that adulthood is most evident by the conduct displayed in online gaming, the determination to withhold honor in high regard, the self imposed disallowance of any form of gaming cheating and the respectful consideration towards both yourself, your clan and your competitor. Welcome to Urgent Fury. Whew.. now that that’s out of the way,, get your ass signed up for hell week! LOL. Goat. -

Welcome to Urgent Fury, first just to clear up a couple of things and let you know nobody is being antagonistic or anything. On the site warning, Urgent fury members need to keep up quite a bit with the forums here, game scheduling, clan representative duties, etc. All information is posted here on a wide variety of pertinent issues. Therefore many members visit during work hours, possibly on break, possibly not. I won’t argue that visiting clan recreational sites during work isn’t exactly productive for their respected employer, although that’s not any of my business. Warning that a link may contain adult material is only a matter of courtesy not only for anyone viewing from a work place but for anybody that may have children or what have you nearby and would prefer to know before hand that the page they are about to open contains explicit material. Nobody is saying there is anything wrong with it, a short pre-warning is given only as a matter or courtesy towards other members. With the All cap’s post. Many forums as well as this one, associate the use of all caps in a post as that of someone posting in anger. Using caps means you are shouting or yelling in an aggressive tone rather than simply trying to stress your point. In reading the post it appears to me that you aren’t really posting in rage and are instead relatively calm. However anyone skimming the threads may not take the time to read the post and quickly assume someone is shouting and being hostile. Just wanted to make sure you didn’t feel as if anyone was being rude or non receptive. Again welcome to UF and I hope you enjoy your participation here in both Urgent fury’s tournament offerings as well as the community forums. Goat. -
dammit!! who went told Prime that pic was here? he's probably already has a towel in his left hand!! well Shane, you might have ruined my day but you made Prime's day big time! since he's ex-PBK I guess I can let you off the hook.. besides Mozilla has a nice little add-in that can block a picture from viewing.. thank you Mozilla! it's all good Prime.. errr prime? you there? oh heck.. he's already enlarged it (probably needed four sheets of paper to fit it on!) printed it out and took it to the bathroom with him.. I'll check back in 12 seconds.. he should be done by then. ;D ;D ;D

I agree!! and for that matter I think we should hold someone else accountable for their actions.. like maybe the one who posted a certain picture that just about killed this thread.... Fifty lashes with a wet noodle should do it! that and make him hold an auction where he sells his self, only not to the largest bidder... the winner is the bidder with the largest weight.
-
I could have gone the whole fricking day without that second picture. Shane.. WTF? dude I haven't even had lunch yet.. and I'm no longer hungry... in fact I think I'm going to be sick. Seq said he wants to scalp your sorry ass... I'm volunteering to hold you down while he does.

I just heard Abigale is going to offer her Virginity for sale online.... she has a reserve price of $50. Its also a multiple item sale. highest bidder goes first. LOL

Well, a couple of things... Despite Software.com's claim of a release date of 3/02/09 this title won't be released anywhere near that date. Also that $29.99 price tag (which I already figured had to be wrong) was the suggested retail for this game way back in 2006 when they first started development of it. Game stop has officially listed Rogue Warrior http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=64074 The release date is 10/01/09 and the price is the standard $59. Bethesda Forums has a post which states... "Rogue Warrior is still in development, the title has undergone a complete transmutation from our original concept to a much more complete online shooter title. Here at Bethesda we are committed to delivering a finished product while maintaining a high level of game play our customers have come to expect. Our goal is to fully test and evaluate the games performance in order to insure the game's stability is assured and the game play is free from problems prior to its release." Holy schit! if only slant six would have been so committed to excellence. I'm disappointed the release date has been delayed, but if the reason is they want to release a online shooter that is actually finished and ready the day it is released.. then by all means take your time. I'm sick and tired of buying games that don't work right from the moment I open the box.

Holy Virgin Batman.... Talk about you're high priced whores.....

Thanks dub, I copied most of it from a post at PBK's forums.. I was positive it wasn't any kind of pretension but didn't go searching PSN boards for the link. Thanks for finding it for me.. oh and is SCEA, that was just a typo by me..
-
This was posted at the PS Forums by AbigaleSS a SCEA representative in a thread titled. “State of the Community†Most of the replies have been in an appreciative manner for her up-front post. She does seem to imply their distress for the community’s concerns. However, as a clan mate of mine pointed out, this is rather depressing. She is right about one thing…. There is indeed many that are disappointed and upset with the game at this time.

Here's a good tutorial on posting pics on forums.. http://www.ibdguy.com/posting.shtml they use Html tags such as <img src=url of picture> as an example however here at UF the tags are different. [img=url of picture] The most important issue is that the photo or graphic is first hosted by a web server, most IP providers give you an ftp site to use for this however photobucket and other free services can be used.. after the picture is uploaded to a web picture host server its simply a matter of inserting the url (location of the image) into the post or into the signature or avatar box in your personal profile. When you click the insert image icon above the post box here at the forums the image tags are automatically inserted for you, all you need to do is place the Url of the image in between the tags.

yeah it looks like I've taught Shane well .. over the years. I thought it was interesting.. I actually learned something. I had no idea SEQUOYAH was really a Mexican. LOL ;D ;D Good job Shane. -
My play style is look straight down at the ground and move around looking for a spot to plant a claymore.. when I finally find one that's just about the time I get fragged by a grenade that fell a hundred yards away from me... since I'm already in the position I just bend a little further and kiss my ass goodbye.

I've heard good things about Best Lie's black tie protection plan, I don't heard good things about the so called "Nerd squad" service team. But the black tie deal seems reasonable. For Robrotron: AVS forums.. when AVS first started out it was a simple chat site for AV professionals.. then they made a “Gold†member program where you had to pay to talk behind the scenes with other vendors and such. Now days it’s a huge marketing site, devoted more to propaganda from manufactures to push their product, the site is filled with members that are really factory employee’s or resellers, etc.. they are going to post in the manner that best promotes what they sell. This is less relevant in the higher tier private forums for higher level members. I believe the regular sections are full of rep Trolls. I was a gold member (of course) but I did not renew, the guy that started it had the right idea however these days he seems to be doing rather well with selling space on the site for advertisement and has been lured to the dark side. I’m sure he’s making good money off the forums.. Good for him, bad for the average consumer looking for reliable unbiased information. p.s. I don’t mind Vizio’s their Evolution series has a great look, other models aren’t that impressive. But bang for the buck makes up for their lack of features other units have.
-
Don't even get me started on what resellers do for the show floor to get the unit they make the most money on to look the best... You need to look at the back of the unit.... I suspect the one they want to have you buy has an HDMI cable to it.. the one they don't make much money on has a coat hanger. One of my clan mates recently asked me what he could do to help decide.. I told him to take his PS3 to the store with him (that's right!!) walk in with your ps3 and hook it up the exact same way for each unit and look at the picture.. this way you know for sure exactly how it will look when you get it home. he told me the salesman at first didn't want to do it.. but the manager came out and said "sure no problem" My mate had them hook up his Ps3 to five different units before deciding... he went with a Tosh.. but he said the Sharp looked very good as well.

On the question about the Walmart Tosh.. yep Chilli hit in on the nose.. all of those reasons, last years model, 60hz etc.. on the forums advice for Samsung's. they are right and they are wrong.. Ok here's some sound advice, probably the best advice I can give you guys.. inside dealer information. It's not about the size, the model or even the manufacture. Its all about product assembly line stock rating. Stock class rating is why big house resellers can beat competitor pricing on certain makes and models for certain periods of time. Across the board for all makes and models first year after sale service numbers are as follows: Stock A 5-11% Stock B 10-24% Stock C 20-44% Stock classifications are done at the factory, a slew of factors determine rating, minor scratches, minor or major soldering flaws, improper alignment of electronic components, etc etc etc.. the list is long. There are also other stock ratings such as Refurbished or Recall/Repaired. Discontinued.. etc. The vendor or electronics store doesn't have to disclose the stock rating.. the reason is the manufacture provides the same warrentee regardless of rating, Most time the managers won't even know the stock rating anyway.. But rest assured someone does. Discount stores love Stock C. they get even more of a factory discount when the buy in bulk.. Buy enough units of a factories stock C and they can charge way below competitor prices and make a healthy profit. Combine that with incentives like overstock, older models and such and well you get the point.. Back to Samsung: my opinion comes more from a wider view of the reliability of the product line as a whole, the difficulty in getting customer service from the manufacture and the huge lag time in repair orders. Its a crap shot.. get a good unit and you're happy as all get out.. get a lemon and experience the pain. For Plasma..its Panasonic. Pioneer and Phillips come in next. Stay away from every other brand. With Plasma's The three P's are the one's that developed the technology everyone else just copied them. To tell the truth with Plasmas these days.. its' basically Panny (panasonic) as the only choice. Lots of issues with red drive polarization pixels, picture fading, etc.. with practically every other brand. Toshiba gave up even trying and no longer makes plasma's they have focused on LCD. Their Regza line got good awards last two years straight. That doesn't mean every Tosh beats every thing else.. Stock rate plays the biggest factor, next is model number and then product line. So to say Other sites say Samsung is best 9/10 well.. that's sort of ridiculous? Considering just how many factors such as model, stock rate, size, refresh rate, contrast ratio etc. etc. etc.. come in to play. Choosing a TV by only considering the factory brand is.. well sort of pinheaded. My opinions of Tosh come from selling a variety of brands, if the customer doesn't call me back and bother me because the unit I sold them isn't working then for me that's a good thing.. for LCD's in the given size range I would have to recommend Tosh, but that doesn't hold true for other applications, size restraints, use and other factors. If you think I was hard on Samsung, you should have heard me talk about Toshiba's Plasma's... They sucked big time.. I wouldn't sell a Tosh Plasma to my worst enemy, LCD's are a whole different story. Damn.. you see what you did!! you went and made me make a goat post.. byotch! LOL y/k amigo mad/luv from da goat.
-
Size vs refresh rate vs cost I agree 120hz is better than 60hz, and that’s also why the double hz rate is going to cost you quite a bit more. However, the difference isn’t so great as to be worth it in some cases. It all depends on what your priority is. I.e. the amount you’re willing to spend for what you will be using it for.. If you have to stay within a budget of 1300 then you are going to have to compromise somewhere along the line. Refresh rates make less difference the smaller in size you go, yet for gaming it goes without saying a higher refresh rate will be better. Of course! Now you can get a 42†or lower with at 120hz for about what your budget is, or you can get a 46†with 60hz close to your budget, but asking for both is simply wishful thinking. Personally I don’t need anything larger than around 40†for gaming, my chair is close enough and I’ve found anything bigger means I have more range I have to move my eyes to take in the field of view. If it’s strictly for gaming then goat with the 120hz but there isn’t any need for a bigger size that surpasses your budget. If its half gaming, half movies then goat bigger but save the cost of the higher res. again to stay in your budget. Lastly the only thing I see wrong with that Samsung is it’s a SAMSUNG! Samsung’s have the highest return/repair rate of any LCD on the market. Keep that in mind. Once again as I’ve said before Toshiba leads the pack for LCD, Panasonic for Plasma. With the Tosh, their Regza series, simply blow everything else away.

I hate you!! LOL y/k bro. here in the frozen tundra its.. -22 wind chill of -34 and it isn't even night time yet... Minnesota Nice.. yeah more like Minnesota ICE.
