you have a US PSN account? it will be avail for download on the same day as the box will be out in us.. i have a couple clan members that are in the UK and plan on doing this.. we hope it works.. no reason why it shouldnt.. they are also using our beta codes.. so all should be good if you are willing to download it rather then buy the disc.

All of those can be changed server side.. i am pretty sure that being an online title only, that the disc and the downloads will simply have game assets.. Skins for players, weapon images, etc.. almost if not all content i believe is controlled server side.. so my guess would be that yea, they could change the details of the reload times and add or subtract time to it.. i do agree w/the cover me button being difficult .. but again i think these are all things that they can change on there ends.. and as always.. i could be wrong.. just from what i have read.. and how things often work dynamically.. this makes sense.. well to me anyways. lol

although i have not been crackin out on it.. i am still playing socom beta daily.. and love it.. mostly cuz there are a lot of people i have not seen in years.. good ol West 1..

Although there are a lot of new games coming out.. i dont think that people will follow like they will w/ socom. Something about this game draw people in for the long run.. even when you dump a whole clip into someone for them to turn around and kill you w/ 1 bullet.. we have all been there.. lol . The problems w/ the game are pretty minimal IMO, and i do think that 1st week will be ok.. as time goes on Slant six i believe will continue to wow us w/ updates and DLC... atleast they better.. It surprising to me how many haters are out there.. it is a beta w/ one map.. and its the best socom game play so far i have even played.. and i have been around for the long haul.. this game will be a hit ... classic maps returning while they have added new and improved maps as well..

my 60 just crapped out like 5 weeks ago.. but i now have an 80 too.. sending the first one in.. which i too had a cooling fan and dont ever mention that to a sony rep... it will void your warranty according to the rep i spoke too.. i cleaned mine regularly and i had mine up high where lil action or dust was.. but it still went out after 18 months of almost solid use.

is it possible that mines are special force specific? just with some guns being that way.. i would think that some of that might be dependent on who you choose? i have not read anything about it.. but it almost makes sense.. except that you dont pick the bad guys.. do you?

you guys know that Microsoft pays for early release or console specific content right? When CoD4 Add ons came out.. i read that Microsoft paid like over a mill just to get it on the box 30 days early.. i guess one of the benefits of charging people to play.. there is more money to kick around.. I would bet that Microsoft also paid to have exclusive beta coverage as well.

WORD glad i could help.. i too was sooo relieved when i found this solution.. spread the word.. media servers OFF when not using.. i love the feature and use it all the time.. but it does mess w/ some (majorly in my case) networks.. who knows maybe Goat has a reason why?? he is pretty knowledgeable in areas such as this.

BHU420 one of my clan mates plays all the time.. he has a 503 Clan??? or whatever they are considered on hockey.. he is a cool dude too.. PSN = BHU420 just mention you are from UF and you guys im sure will get some good games in

Fallen is probably my favorite map out of the new ones, and I'm curious to see the response to it. The overall idea is that Fallen is an abandoned Roman temple in Northern Africa. It was abandoned ages ago, but has recently become a point of contention for forces in the area. Its isolated location and mountainous surroundings make it easy to defend, so it will be an important tactical asset to whichever side captures it. The interiors are broken down and blasted, but there is obvious reconstruction and fortification work underway. There are track lights along the floor, a tank full of gas for a generator outside, and scaffolding holding up both an underground tunnel (which looks like a mine) and set up outside both bases. Fallen is one of those semi-symmetrical maps. While the bases are not exact mirror images of each other, the Commandos and Mercs have similar assets on each side of the central area. Both bases have two bridges and a path leading down into the water surrounding the temple itself. The layout is pretty spectacular, too. There is plenty of room to run and fight, but the wide-open areas are littered with broken columns and debris that can result in some pretty decent cover in an emergency situation. The central ruins are an enclosed room, but it connects to two smaller rooms for more mayhem and fun. The mix of architecture, design, and just sheer fun to be had in this map is great. Are your media servers enabled? This was causing me to get logged out constantly. It would not allow me to download any game updates.. etc. The second i turned it off things got way better for me and my gaming. Others have found that turning it off can really help. This also might be the cause of the 60gbs going out.. based on info told me .. that is speculation at this point though.

Lol that was our plan most of the time when we had to defend.. we then would pick Foxhunt .. which we were pretty good at.. ahh that map i miss.. however i know that this map is a favorite for a lot of people.. so it in fact probably was a good move for them to bring it back.. i just dont really care for the what once was lopsidedness, and it appears to be no different.. hopefully there is more to the map.. but i also remember seeing that photo of the developer sitting at his desk w/ the 2 screens of FF... one w/ textures and rendered out.. and then the other was wire frame of the map.. which was no larger then what we see here..

good find.. but i think it was dumb to bring back Frostfire.. it has always been a seal map and there appears to be no difference.. i can remember if we had a clan war on S2.. 85% of the clans would choose FF seals.. cuz they were almost guaranteed a win.. and personally i never saw what was so special about this map.. only time will tell i guess.. but personally i would have preferred some effort going into an expansion of it.. or a new map.. again.. thanks for sharing though cuz i had not seen that yet.

i still use it when i want to listen to music or watch a movie .. w/o having to move it.. but when im done i switch it right back off.

Socom for me.. my CoD4 is stuck in my 60gb which i have yet to send into sony.. and i am pretty much just waiting for socom to hit shelves... i might rent a few other games.. but its all about socom for me.

i did too on CoD4..even when i was having the probs.. but if your not using them i suggest turning them off ... so in the event they are slowing ANYTHING down.. then you can prevent that..

yea the prob w/ my set up was a windows issue.. the issue on PS3 was cuz i had them enabled.. when i wasnt using it.

i have WMP11 and Tversity.. both work fine now.. my prob before was my pc was lacking updates that allowed me to do it. I had a corrupt file that wouldnt let me download updates.. i ended up needing to reformat. so once i had a fresh install of windows and i updated it worked fine.

So for a while now i had been having some probs w/ my network when i turned on my ps3. The second it would get turned on it would literally suck all of my internet connection. If i was on my pc at all like YahooIM .. i would get booted.. if i was downloading any files at all.. they would stop. This would happen for roughly 60 seconds.. then my ps3 would get signed in and then it would boot me and give me a common error (forgive me i dont have the error code) and then all life on the rest of my network would recover and be like nothing happened. The ps3 at this point would not be signed in but it would remain on. This was a problem before i got my new router, and was also a problem on my old (60gb RIP) ps3. So recently i tried to download the new socom beta patch, and i seriously tried atleast 50 times.. it would get to 1% and then it would fail. I would then get disconnected from the PSN and would change something like reset router, plug right into modem, try a different cable, used neighbors wireless connection etc.. all with same results.. no download. So after i got on to my neighbors connection and had the same issue i was pretty sure it was something to do w/ my account rather then my connection or network settings.. I spent over an hour on the phone w/ Sony trying to figure this out.. they walked me through all of the mentioned above ran multiple internet connection test on ps3 which was set up right correct and then finally the big question came.. "Are your media servers enabled or disabled?" and i was all proud to say that they were on cuz since they added it i couldnt get it to work and recently i got it to work.. which is a whole other story but i told her that they were on and she asked me to disable it. No joke on my first try i downloaded the socom patch.. then i realized that i had a few games that i couldnt even play due to not being able to download any of the updates.. anything that i could download in the background would not download.. every single update came in first try.. not only that i seem to have less problems on socom and other games now too. Really i have no real proof of this being a fix for some.. however i have shared this info w/ some of my friends and there problems have also got better.. not all are solved.. but those who had problems w/ socom beta all seemed to be gone now.. i have not really looked on the net to see how much this issue is being talked about.. but until i called Sony last week i would have argued w/ just about anyone that the media servers being on wouldnt effect anything.. well im glad i didnt get into that conversation cuz i would have been wrong. She did tell me that having the media servers on that it adds extra stress to ps3 so to turn off when not using.. i think it might be part of the reason my , as well as other 60gbs went out.. but only time will tell i guess. Hope this helps any of you out there having any issues..
