FYI I called SCEA last night. The guy was very nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. He said they were expecting to have it back up by yesterday, but they ran into more problems and now it looked like it would take another 1-2 days. He strongly hinted an monday night being their target, and told me to call back if it's not back up by tuesday night.

If only NA and EU are down, we should be able to go make a new name that is in another region and still play. Has anyone tried this?

PC's are like that though... a top end pc today is outdated in a year, grossly in 2. console people don't want to buy a new console every 1-2 years.

maybe it's its internet explorer only? I don't get the "Make the Kill" banner in firefox. I tried chrome and got it, but clicking it just takes me to socom.com.

they are putting a party system in rock, that should take care of that. I wish I had more time to edit my loadout pre-game. I would also like to be able to edit my loadouts in the "external lobbyies" before actually being put into the game. It's annoying that I have to wait for the game to start and then I have like 10 seconds to do what I want.

sweet! thanks! I know one of the vids in that video, from california, the night time one where three objects were streaming down then all stopped at the same time and appeared to "hover" was debunked on "fact or faked: paranormal files". There was a nighttime skydiving jump with flares/fireworks or whatever tied to them, so they "streamed" while in freefall and "hovered" when they pulled the cords. No clue on the countless others, though...

machinima is a gaming media site similar to ign. we are talking about their planned "live play feed" for socom4, and we were discussing some of their well known players.

interesting tidbit from socom4 forums: http://www.socom.com/en-us/Franchise/PS3/SOCOM4 "game modes" are locked so you can't view them. maybe we'll see an extra mode in the "socom pro dlc"? we'll find out today...

I've said all along, months ago, that demo would be in the first DLC. I thought we would be paying for it. If demo is in this "pro dlc" pack they are giving away with the preorders I will be so so so happy. I can wait for the other modes in future DLC, but not having demo day one just ain't right IMO.
