I'm not denying that fact that people need to go through things on their own, however, the point I was trying to make is that to me, a friend doesn't turn a blind eye. Asked or not, if something is an obvious problem it typically comes up in regular conversation. Again, in my own opinion I don't think you need to be "asked" to discuss something with a friend. The therapist analogy was great Hippie and exactly what I was saying. Friends talk about things, not ignore them. I don't think the original poster was asking if he should force his opinion and be aggressive about it. My suggestion is to just bring it up casually and see how she really feels. With the stuff the guys doing to her, I don't think it would be hard to ask here whats up with that when she brings it up.

Chilli, the difference is LOTS didn't use electricity for years. They kept up with candles or lanterns. The difference with this situation is they don't have the choice of staying old school. You have to upgrade or you get nothing. Following your analogy, at least they still had another way to get light. -
Dang, I just read this thread and really shocked at a lot of the replies. BOU I agree completely with you. Friends don't ignore friends. Granted it's HER decision, it's HER life, but holy crap, you are HER friend. Why would you not give your opinion especially if you think she's making a mistake ... is that not what friends do ? In the end, it's her call, but personally, I respect and value my friends input, advice, and opinions on A LOT of things, especially relationships. Sorry if I offend many of you but I really wouldn't consider you that close of a friend if you'd just sit back and watch me make what could be mistakes like that.....in my book, true friends don't pull the "it's none of my business" ...."do what ya want" card very often.

SEQUOYAH, we have not had an issue with this perk at all, however, your post I quoted doesn't really jive to me. If thats how you think all CR's should handle this, then why don't you think it should be taken out completely ? If you feel THAT strong about informing your clan to not touch that perk, wouldn't it better the tournament if it wasn't even an option ?

I don't agree with this reasoning or analogy whatsoever ! First off this isn't insurance where anyone is paying or buying into. It's a rule and can be altered easily to make things a lot smoother. Obviously the last stand perk is something that can cause a glitch in the game. Suggesting to clans to "not use it" isn't practical and efficient, IMO. Amending the rules to say you cannot use it is. Again, this is all to cut down on controversy and eliminate issues from arising during matches ... which I think is what most here want.

Hockey is my 2nd favorite sport, I love hockey but just can't put it above the NFL. The other one that was pretty nasty was Clint Mullarchuck, you guys remember that one? When he was the goalie and took a skate to the throat, that was pretty nasty. Whoever said they were a Flyers fan I'm a Pens fan ... how did it feel to go 0-8 against the Pens last year ? You guys had his for a while this year, until Sunday.

I'm not a news idiot but I've worked in the mental health field for 12 years now ..... treating PTSD with simulations of what caused those traumatic episodes isn't a good treatment plan. Are recovering alcoholics encouraged to go to bars and watch people drink ?

That is very unfortunate. I don't think the family is wrong whatsoever in pointing to such things as COD acting as a trigger. I'm not saying it's what caused him to snap, but you have to admit it probably isn't the best thing in the world for him to be doing if he's having flashbacks and issues dealing with his past. If he is suffering from PTSD and is having episodes like they example, then I don't think playing any type of simulation shooter type game is good for ya.

Dude, that was the best part of AOE: Age of Kings and the expansion packs. I'd call two buddies up and we'd jump on the MSN gaming zone, put a room up and wait for 3 opponents. One guy trade like crazy to get up cash, he's the money man Then we build up the army soooo much fun, I miss it.

Are there any Real Time Strategy based games on the PS3 like AOE? I know its a massively smaller scale and different, but did anyone dload the Monsters game? It totally reminds me making towers in AOE and I actually really like the game. My wife and I love playing it together. For 8 bucks it's a good deal.

I am not disagreeing at all. I am a woot shopper every day. I get up at 6am just to see what the sale is for the day. Good things sale out early. Awww, your a rook then !!! 1am cst is when you need to be waiting ! LOL

Most things are refurb there, but I've bought tons of product off woot and never had an issue.
