According to Modern Warfare 2 fansite, mw2blog.com, the current Modern Warfare 2 weapons roster goes something like the below. Featuring current favourites from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, such as the G36C, M4 Carbine, SVD Dragunov and H&K MP5, as well as more recently released and concept weaponry, the weapons roster is currently looking pretty well rounded, with an already larger choice of weapons to the last Modern Warfare game. Personally, I'm looking forward to trying out the various new shotguns and assault rifles, and seeing which packs the best punch. Also, the inclusion of a new pistol - the Glock, famous for reliablity and ruggedness - is nice to see, and shows that Infinity Ward haven't forgotten that a good sidearmis just as important as a primary weapon. Good stuff. The full list is below, should you want to take a look and curb your growing desire for MW2 information. Assault Rifles FAMAS - Bushmaster ACR - M16 - AK-47 - Steyr AUG A2 - Imbel MD3 - FN 2000 - G36C - M4 - MK. 14 EBR - G3 - TAR-21 - FN SCAR - FN FAL Sniper Rifles SVD Dragunov - Walther WA2000 Sub-Machine Guns FN P90 - UMP .45 - TDI Kriss - H&K MP5 Shotguns Franchi SPAS-12 - W1200 - Armsel Striker 12 Guage - Remington 870MCS - Winchester 1887 - AA-12 Light/Heavy Machine Guns RPD - MK46 - AUG HBAR-T - MG4 - M240 Pistols USP .45 - Glock 18/22 - M1911 .45 - Desert Eagle or Baby Eagle Melee Combat Knife - Ice Picks Explosives/Grenades C4 - Frag Grenade - Stun Grenade - Smoke Grenade - Semtex Gun Attatchments Red Dot Sight - Heartbeat Sensor - ACOG - Silencer - EOTech Sight - Thermal Scope - Master Key Grenade Launchers GP-25 Grenade Launcher - M203 Grenade Launcher - AT4 Rocket Launcher (Heat Seeking/Lock-On) Armor Riot Shield

Uncharted, SOCOM Confrontation going Greatest Hits on August 16th by Griffin McElroy { 7 minutes ago } According to a recent Sony press release, two more best-selling PS3 titles are getting the ol' "Red Box" treatment. Beginning Sunday, August 16, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation (sans headset) will reach "Greatest Hits" status, dropping their respective MSRPs down to a reasonable $29.99. Fans of the SOCOM series will likely be thrilled about Confrontation's markdown -- but every self-respecting PS3 owner needs to have Uncharted in their collection. Now that you can make that happen with just a Hamilton and a Jackson, you've really got no reason to go without. http://www.joystiq.com/2009/08/13/uncharted-socom-confrontation-going-greatest-hits-on-august-16/

Dude, that's pretty fail. NO NO NO. No fail. [OLD] Nemesis posted a thread in the PS3 section titled "MAG Public Beta enrollment begins," but someone merged that thread with this thread (MAG BETA INVITES). Now I look foolish, but you can see by the subject line in each post where the original post was. Just noticed it was merged, didn't see this post. I posted in PS3 because it's about PS3 not General Discussion. ???

A lucky few individuals will discover this invite for the MAG beta in their inboxes. The e-mail includes a unique code used to access a closed application form. According to the beta enrollment page, Sony "will be adding people in waves." If you don't see an invite in your inbox right now, don't worry: you may be invited later. "If you do not receive an invite for the first wave you may still be invited in a following MAG Public Beta wave." Sony has already conducted a closed beta for MAG for over a month. The expansion of the beta to the public gives us hope that maybe -- just maybe -- we'll be able to see MAG's 256-player online battles hitting the PS3 sooner rather than later. Check your emails!!! ;D

Source: http://www.xboxic.com/news/5551 The Leipzig Games Convention is moving onwards and upwards with a new name this year: GamesCom. The last time Infinity Ward attended the event was way back in 2007 shortly before the release of ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’. Xboxic was at the event first hand to play the game before release and witness the press conference which included a Beta announcement. It seems likely through leaked information handed to Xboxic yesterday that Infinity Ward are planning a Déjà Vu moment and will announce details of the upcoming ‘Modern Warfare 2 Beta’ at this years GamesCom event in Germany. The GamesCom event will take place next week on August 17th - August 19th. Information has been handed to Xboxic which leads us to believe that Robert Bowling (aka FourZeroTwo) the community spokesman for Infinity Ward will announce details via a press release of a Beta signup through modernwarfare2.com, with those who have pre-ordered ‘Prestige Edition’ of the game having immediate access. It is assumed that the retailers with exclusive pre-order sales will soon start emailing web site tokens to customers when the Beta is live. The web site token will then need to be registered at modernwarfare2.com with your email address to later receive your chosen Xbox360 or PS3 Beta console redeem code. The Beta is rumoured to go live by September 10th and close towards the end of October. Until Infinity Ward release an official statement this can only remain a rumour. The Gamescom convention with Robert Bowling confirmed as in attendance will take place next week - so only time will tell if the information we received is correct.

Firmware 3.0 Could be PlayStation 3’s New Xbox Experience
Nemesis replied to Nemesis's topic in Playstation
“NEW†PSN Is Most Likely Backwards Compatibilty and PS2 Store With all eyes fixed on next week’s GamesCom in Cologne, speculation has been at an all time high. Many publications are going out on a limb and betting the farm on news coming in from “sourcesâ€. Playstation Insider, has even gone as far saying that they know everything Sony has in store for the convention. They go on to list: PSP Go price cut, PS3 Slim, New PSN, and Firmware 3.0, as all being present at the show. As far as a PSP Go price cut, I personally have never seen product receive a price cut before it’s launched in any industry, especially the video game industry. There is a possibility that Sony has been listening to the gaming public’s out cry about the price, but the most you can likely expect is a downloadable-game voucher pack-in, not a price cut. It’s a premium product, with a premium price. The PS3 Slim’s announcement at this point is obvious and I don’t feel like beating a dead horse. I’ll let the N4G crowd kill each other over this one. The last two mentions were the ones that I found most interesting out of the entire bunch. This “New†PSN being referred to is most likely a new PSN Store, namely a PS2 Store. Firmware 3.0, rather than introducing things gamers have been waiting on like voice messaging and cross-game chat, will probably bring about the long forgotten “Backwards Compatibility†feature. Does Sony’s very recent patent of Emotion Engine emulation technology on the Cell Processor ring a bell? If not, have a look for yourself. Maybe your a skeptic, and reading patent information isn’t your thing, well in that case check out this photo from about a year ago (which everyone has forgotten about), right before the PSN Video Store was launched. It Showcases the PS2’s Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty in a PSN-like store. Coincidence, highly doubt it. -
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is finally releasing this Thursday on the PlayStation Store. However, that’s not the only store you’ll be able to purchase it at. Back in early June, there were rumors of a retail version of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, when a GameStop listing was spotted. The listing was quickly removed, but claimed that along with the game download voucher, you got some free goodies, such as: * DVD filled with artwork * 8 page manual with moves list * one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics * 2000 Capcom Unity points Now this image has surfaced, showing the actual retail box. The box also reveals that the free one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics is included. So there is a ‘fighting’ chance that we’ll get the other aforementioned goodies as well. No word as to when this retail bundle is getting released, but it might be the better value considering the retail version, and the PS Store download will be priced the same.

It’s that time of the year, when rumors come flying near a gaming event. Starting August 19th, and running through to Sunday, August 23rd, is GamesCom. Of course, new rumors are here, and this time they’re on PlayStation Network. The latest rumor comes from PlayStation Insider, who say their source has told them that Sony is set to announce Firmware 3.0 at their upcoming press conference. It is said they were careful not to say it would not release the day of announcement. However, they will announce it, and detail the features that come with it. The source says that this firmware will coincide with the launch of the new PlayStation Network. There was a rumor some time ago that suggested that Sony would be releasing a new PSN service, one that would have you pay a one flat rate for access to unlimited downloads. It would still have online play, and the other features for free though. Think of it as Xbox Live, but with the perk of gaining access all content on the network. Whether this plan is still in play though has yet to be determined.

***Rumour*** According to sources speaking with film site IESB, talent agency CAA and "studio executives," Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg is in talks to oversee the production of a new Halo movie. IESB say Spielberg has been "blown away" by Stuart Beattie's screenplay, which as we know deals with a kid called John. Oh, and some aliens as well, along with a little shooting. IESB also point out that having lost Transformers, Dreamworks (having recently split from their distribution deal with Paramount) will be looking to gain a replacement "tentpole" action series, and Halo - which has been abandoned by Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamp - fits the bill perfectly. Apparently CAA, who list Spielberg as a client, have the director in "active negotiations" to produce the movie. So please, make note of this. He's rumoured to be in talks to produce the movie, not direct it.

Japan's DDM.tv is bringing on-demand Blu-ray quality HD adult movies to the PLAYSTATION 3. The service requires a broadband connection, an HDMI cable and, obviously, a PS3 console — the only device the service works with presently. Before downloading the movies for a fee, users must log onto the DMM.tv Blu-ray website and can search for titles like by keywords, actress, genre, etc. Discerning titles include the likes of Yuma Asami and the 100 Masturbaters. All hundred of them. On your PS3. In full HD. Yeah.

I had it, and that's what got rid of it for me.

They released a live patch to fix it while a permanent patch was sent through the usual red tape. Of course it was after I got sick of the glitchers and turned it off.
