  1. NFL makes several changes to draft process The NFL announced several revisions to its annual college draft today to streamline the selection process for clubs and fans. The changes were announced by Commissioner Roger Goodell at a league meeting in Philadelphia. Beginning with next year’s draft, only Rounds 1-2 will take place on Saturday (April 26), the first day of the draft. Previously, the first three rounds of the draft were conducted on Saturday. The time allocated for each club to make its selection in Rounds 1-2 also has been changed. Instead of 15 minutes for each pick in Round 1, clubs will now be allowed 10 minutes. In Round 2, the selection time has been shortened to seven minutes from 10 minutes. The draft also will begin later on Saturday -- at 2 p.m. (CT) rather than at 11 a.m. Round 3 will be moved to Sunday and remain at five minutes per selection. Rounds 3-7 will be conducted on Sunday, with each selection allocated at five minutes. The draft on Sunday now will begin at 9 a.m. (CT) rather than 10 a.m. (CT). “We believe these changes will make for a more streamlined and efficient draft,†said Commissioner Goodell. The 2008 NFL Draft will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and televised by NFL Network and ESPN.
  2. I could care less about a hand over a heart. As long as he has respect and reverence for the flag and this country, he's fine. It's those that lead and do NOT have respect and reverence that I'd be more concerned about.
  3. No, he was right. I just didn't want to have to register to another forum for it. I thought maybe the vids were at ebgames or gametrailer or something like that.
  4. Gugh......can't you just post a link, Chili? To whatever site's hosting it? Or is it one of your gunners hosting it?
  5. REALLY?! That's the game UF was going to expand on. WELL......looks like UF will stay stagnant in the waters of Socom forever and ever and ever......
  6. OH.....lol. He just revived an old thread. Looks like I've been freebasing again.......

The Boody one will always make me laugh.
  10. Yeah, I don't know what the big deal is either. So they released it on HD DVD.....so what. For those that don't have it, go out and buy the REGULAR DVD. I mean, do you NEED to see every damned wire in the Transformers' chassis or see that extra piece of shrapnel in the explosions? There will be other movies that will come out on Blu-Ray that you'll have the chance to pointlessly say "ah-HA!" to, so don't sweat it. This just wasn't one of those movies......so quit bitchin' and buy the damned regular DVD. This should NOT even BE a pissing match between Blu-Ray and HD. LOL
  11. For those of you who didn't remember, as he's been off for two weeks, the Urgency Frequency podcast has returned, courtesy of Cmdr. Fury! http://www.urgentfury.com/podcast/
  12. 6 touchdowns tonight.....this guy is NUTS.
  13. Well, if this will help you........there WAS another series in 30 Days dedicated to the character in the end and what she may have been feeling over her "loss". Revenge, I'm sure, is definitely in mind. HOWEVER, I know Steve Niles personally, from the "biz," and know that he's currently holed up in Hollywood and told me that he doesn't want to talk with anyone right now for 2 weeks for two reasons: 1: He's scared to see the outcome and reviews of 30 Days...... and 2: He's currently throwing two more screen plays through the pipeline, already accepted by the studios, and the second 30 Days is NOT one of them.......so a sequal, IF there is to be one, would be a long way off, I would guess.
  14. Where do you get this Emergen-C stuff?
  15. My OFFICIAL REVIEW. Being a fan of the comic books, then-turned graphic novels "30 Days of Night," I was both excited and skeptical about seeing this in the theaters. The story is one of simplicity, yet, for some reason, NO ONE had ever written it before. Yet Steve Niles, the author, came up with this great story. The northernmost city in Alaska, Barrow, has 30-days of STRAIGHT NIGHT in the middle of winter.....in real life. So Niles thought "what would happen if VAMPIRES ever found this out?" And he wrote it. The movie started out well enough. Dropping you in the middle of some folk tensions and back stories without giving it all away as if it were some badly written soap. The town is desolate looking at BEST as the winter night months are coming along. A small town of only 152, as the pop. count showed you on a sign as you come up to the town road. The dread began as the sheriff comes across a big pile of cell phones burned on the ground in the middle of no where. Then all the sled dogs were gutted. Then the power was cut to the entire town. THEN THE VAMPIRES SHOWED THEIR FACES. The vampires were done well. They weren't Hollywoodized and they weren't all slick and romantic and wonderful looking. They looked like beasts. The looked like demons with just enough human features showing through that you thought it was possible that something like this could potentially live within all of us. However, the key ingredient missing was that there was NO soul to be found in their eyes, which were black coals. No soul, no remorse, and least of all, no THINKING. They were simply driven by the fun and the need for the blood of 152 people stuck in the middle of no where with no communication, no escape from the town and no protection in their homes. In this movie, a vampire does NOT need an "invitation" before he can cross into the threshold of your home. And if you're wearing a crucifix, I think it would just slow you down as you ran. The one word I can say of the killing and the feeding and the hunting in this movie is...... NOT gory, not bloody, not gross, not over the top, but rather......simply......BRUTAL. You FELT it when these things leaped and pounced onto someone, driving their fangs into the victims. The director took a VERY real approach to everything in here. There were no glorified wind shots of these creatures, no fancy larger-than-life filming of these vampires. They looked as real as a vampire would, I believe, if one were to walk up to you in real life. Their language was archaic and barbaric, their actions were of one mind and focus and they were RELENTLESS. When most of the carnage was done, most of the vamps stayed out of the cold....but once someone was walking out in the open either to find the others, or try to escape or to try and find someone who got lost, you would hear the terrible screams of hunger pangs of all the vampires in unison and that person was TOAST. The feeding wasn't just sinking some fangs into a neck and then sucking. These vampires didn't HAVE fangs. They had jagged teeth that, when put to your neck, were shaken vigorously back and forth in a feeding frenzy that would serrate through your skin, then your muscle and then your jugular. It was....again.....BRUTAL. When the movie was over, and the house lights came on, I first looked over at a pair I went to the movie with and whispered to them "so what did you guys think?" They said they LOVED it....but then, something else caught my attention. I looked away from them.....scanned the PACKED theatre slowly filing out......listened carefully.....then looked back at my friends and said "no one is making a SOUND. Listen......." And they did. And sure enough, there wasn't a sound. Not from anyone. There were groups of young adults just filing out, not joking around as they were in the beginning previews and commercials or anything. No one joking about how scared the girls might have been or how tense the movie was. NO ONE was saying word. And then I realized why. I felt the icy cold hand of the movie still clenched around my heart. LITERALLY. For the next 20 minutes I was talking to my friends about how it seemed the movie just GRIPPED you for about 2 hours. One of them, along with myself, commented on how it seemed like you weren't breathing throughout the movie. It seemed as if the movie reached out, took hold of your heart, and held onto it for the movie and for a short time after walking out into the night air from the theatre. People, this movie was GOOD. This movie did the original story SO much justice. They didn't make it safer for the masses, and Hollywood didn't seem to infect it too much. This was as a modern day vampire movie SHOULD be. There was no sense of the Saw/Haunting/Texas Chainsaw: Beginning/Ring/Pulse bullshit where you take a bunch of Dawson Creek / O.C. young actor wannabes and throw their pretty, sculpted bodies in front of a killer to hide from and then get hacked up by. No.....this was a story about how 152 isolated people were being hunted in their lonely hometown. They weren't pretty. They weren't athletic. They weren't outsmarting the enemy left and right. They were FOOD.....and throughout the entire movie, you felt pity and sorrow for them, because while holding your breath and keeping a careful eye out in the backgrounds, you didn't have time to have hope for them. GO SEE THIS MOVIE.
  16. Fuck right! When I got to the Mass last night, there wasn't a single APCer logged in from my clan list. Instead, I got into the Mass and there were about 15-20 different variations on my name in there, waiting to green up. They all changed their names in honor of the bday thing. There was a Nudertow, Tow-ga-party, Towisgod, Towsslave, Its_a_wonderful_Tow, TowNailz, TowsQueen, TowsTink, 46_and_Tow, and a few others I can't remember at this time because it REALLY was sensory overload. It was fun to see.....my guys are great.
  17. LOL.....EASY there, cowboy.
  18. LOL.....stuff didn't do SHIT for me last night. Took it at 11pm. Got to the Mass at about 11:45. I did NOT see Fear Wade there, btw....... > > > > > I was asleep by 1:30. 5-Hour-Energy, no-go for me. It DID taste like shit and there was a small tremor in my heart as a kickstart, but it soon faded away....like within minutes. No effect. I get more out of a Monster energy drink. Kind of a let down.
  19. Gawsh.....now I don't know if I should take it. Maybe I should puss out a little and just go for half, as the bottle even says I can. I don't know......I'm only adventurous with internet porn........LOL
  20. That's fine....I may NEED the diarrhea after everything I eat at a Mass.
  21. http://www.apcclan.com Read ALL about it......
  22. Y'know.....those little red, single serving bottles that say energy in minutes, lasts for hours, no crashing? I bought one today to try out for APC's Midnight Mass tonight, because my guys are tired of me sleep-walking into walls around 2am....LOL. So I figured I would take one at around 10pm and I'll be good until about 3 or 4 am. Anyone every try this out? This will be my first time.....
  23. THANK YOU everyone. Went into work today and had four women candidly holding their hands behind their backs when I walked in, all saying they wanted to give me a HBday hug at the same time. 2 of them were hot, the other two were incidental. So I said "sure." That's when they all moved in close and shoved four cupcakes into my mouth, face, nose and everything. And they DIDN'T lick it off. Not even the two homely ones. ;D Thanks, everyone. Looking forward to shooting it up at the Mass with my bros tonight! Again, thanks everyone!

    Advice.

ANYONE can suck up ANYTHING for 6 months. In your case, 5 months.....til March, right? TOUGH it out. You're a kid, not an adult, and 17 says so. Once you're 18, you can do what you like, how you like and whenever you like, and it sounds like the military may be a good outlet for you. It will PROBABLY give you the stability and social structure that you seem to lack in the family environment that you're in now (seemingly, from your explanations). But ANYONE can do ANYTHING for 6 months. When I was a kid, and by kid I mean between 10-14 yrs of age, my mom still subscribed to the "old ways" of dealing with disobedience. Y'see, I'm only half Vietnamese because my father was German......but my mom was FROM Vietnam. She brought ALL that old school shit with her. Bamboo rods across my palms until they were cut when I would steal. Twenty slaps across each cheek in succession when I would lie. I came home late once when I was a freshman in high school, and the next day, a Saturday, she brought me out to the front sidewalk in front of our home in shorts, I had to kneel on the sidewalk pavement on my bare knees, I had two full size bricks, one in each hand, and I had to hold them outstretched at either side of me in a perfect crucifixion pose. She stood behind me with a bamboo stick. Whenever my arms started to shake and get tired and begin to slip down, she'd crack my back with the bamboo that sent my arms shooting right back up to where they were supposed to be. I had to do that for 10 minutes straight. Try it TODAY, with however old or strong you are....and you'll see that's no fucking picnic. And those were just samples of everything else. What you've told me so far is that you're a frustrated boy in a household that isn't representing itself to you very well. And you're right in that regard. However, the key word here is BOY. You're their boy for another 5 months. After that, state law says no matter what you did or did not go through in your first 17 years and 364 days as a minor, the very next day YOU-ARE-A-MAN! And THAT'S when you can do what you feel will better yourself and your future. Anyone can do ANYTHING for 5 months. My wife, with whom I am now separated from with a divorce on the horizon, has been nursing her ailing 95 yr old grandmother for the last 2 years. It's really what drove a huge stake in our relationship. She had to quit her job, move in with her parents again to monitor her grandmother, feed her, clothe her, wipe her shitty ass and the shit that falls all over the toilet seat and the floor. Her grandmother is going through a phase now where she highly distrusts my wife, who is a VERY honest, loving, caring, selfless person, and the grandmother constantly calls her a bitch and a whore and that she's not worth the floor she's standing on in the house (though within 2 minutes, the grandmother has NO idea what she said just moments ago, then proceeds to cry when my wife leaves the room in tears). My wife, now committed to this endeavor simply because the family cannot afford real nursing care, CANNOT go out and get a job. There's no time. She has no money, no social friends and no spare time to herself.....getting back to her apartment every night at 6pm only to have to wake up at 5am to go back there and do it again. SO, young man.......... DO your dishes. CLEAN the dishwasher. BABYSIT your siblings. GO to school. HACK your seemingly strange life.......just for five small months. For MANY people out there enduring some type of hardship, there's usually no end in sight. You, son, can SEE the light, and the light is only 150 days away. Some people would KILL for that kind of short-term arrangement. None of us live perfect lives and many of us HAD those strange, hard times as young adults. So suck it up, count the days down, and MAN UP. Get used to doing it now....because in 150 days when you're "a man," there won't be any more excuses. By the time this thread dies out, you'll only have 148 days left. By the time UF4 is done, you'll only have 134 days left. By the time Christmas is done, you'll only have 90 days left. And they'll go by faster in hindsight than you think. Honestly. Then you can go off and escape in your uniform.
