Is there a VOD? Would be interested to see. Didn't SOF say they would be actively banning people? Seems foolish to cheat in a beta you pay to get into... I know far too many Socom players who are way too paranoid and will blame people for cheating any chance they get.

Haven't seen any signs of cheating on streams. Leaning towards false positive on that video.

One legitimate concern I do have comes from a very technical person with some inside info. He mentioned to me that there is a difference in making games between being a content creator and a actual programmer. Which makes sense. Content creators create game visual assets while programmers essentially write server code, scripts, etc (things that can be exploited). He felt that the HHour crew talents fall more into the content creator category so there is a potential if there are hacking issues, they may not have talent to deal with it. Be that as it may, it is his opinion and time will tell how they are able to deal with the issue.

I don't believe Valve would host or provide game servers for a game unless it was their own game (CSGO, TF2, DOTA, etc). They would host the game files for download tho. That's been my experience playing various games on Steam anyway.

Hopefully they have a good group of testers who can help find these. Nothing is perfect unfortunately. It's too bad that in those 2 years they have 1 map, character set, some voice overs and gameplay. I'll also note that in the video, the round has a 1 hour time limit. Not likely a game server the studio is hosting (also nobody else is in the game). If this guy is hosting his own server, it actually doesn't mean it was hacked if he has the ability to change server settings.

So you are impressed by an exploiter in a game from which a group you claim is held together by duct tape? Hmm... This is a "beta" because they have to from to the kickstarter. What I'm seeing here is nowhere near a beta. You are going to argue that this dev team has had time to lock down their code? Isn't testing intended to help fix these issues anyway?

Yeah he worked at Microsoft making bank, now full time youtuber. He has mentioned in other videos that he spent $10k on his computer (Error checking ram, dual server CPU, etc etc lol). That's his STI btw too

Bummed I missed the live podcast, checking out the recording now. I always had great respect for SHO. Great communities like that are created from good, quality people. I never had much personal interaction with Rage, but the experiences I had with him and his clan were always top notch. My first match against SHO was actually my first match in UF when my brother and I played in UF141. The map was Karachi and I was blown away with the coordination, team work, and tactics. They totally kicked our butts! Great to see the community rally around one of the pillar community members. Condolences to SHO and the Rage family. -

I know they did UE3 for the initial version, but UE4 released (and liked I called on SOF) they switched to 4. Understandably given how much better 4 is.

I watched that video a little closer and right as the guy comes up to the building there was several explosions. It seems like its the start of the round so there likely isn't any terrorists posted up for mines, it seemed like a grenade.

Kevin is an active Steam user I believe. Also I have several of the upper community people added as well as heads of the testing crew added. They are always on Steam more than me lately lol
