  3. Today is an exciting day for us at Deco Digital, an independent games studio based in Derby, United Kingdom, as we can finally announce the news we’ve been wanting to share with PlayStation gamers for months. Our first game, Pneuma: Breath of Life, is coming to PS4 on July 7th. For those not in the know, Pneuma: Breath of Life is a first-person puzzler that puts gamer’s minds to the test in a visually stunning world using the combined power of PS4 and Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. Pneuma pushes players to think outside the box and explore beyond what they know as reality through the eyes of a god. Gamers who solve the mysteries of Pneuma’s world will progress through a narrated story of self-discovery, exploring the fundamental nature of being. To give you an idea of how this works we’ve released a brand new gameplay trailer to help you wrap your head around the plethora of mind bending puzzles you’ll encounter in the game. At Deco Digital, we’ve always wanted to create games that challenge player’s expectations and perceptions of videogames as a medium. One of the design challenges when creating Pneuma was developing puzzles around our completely unique observation mechanic which allows you to lift bridges, rotate platforms, and move entire buildings. All with the combined power of your sight & mind. For example, certain puzzles requires you to traverse your way across a room with no obvious way of getting to the other side. It’s your job to manipulate the objects with the world using the power of your vision to make the environment bend to your will. Only then can you progress in Pneuma’s story of self-discovery. The story in Pneuma is one that can only be experienced through the interactive medium of video games. We don’t want to spoil the ending, but it’s a twist which we feel can’t be recreated through film or within a book. Video games are unique because if their interactive nature and we aimed to take full advantage of that when developing Pneuma: Breath of Life. Writing from the perspective of a god was an interesting challenge for our designer. Pneuma tumbles through chains of thought that have preoccupied philosophers for centuries. We give you time to ponder questions about life and your own existence between presenting you with complex environmental challenges. You’re required to use perception, observation, and lateral thinking skills to succeed. In Pneuma: Breath of Life, we were able to harness the power of PS4 and create visually stunning worlds. One of our favorite moments is seeing player’s reactions to the beginning of the game where the world creates itself around the player. The world floods with color, detailed reflections, and lighting that can only be achieved with the power of next gen. For our four-man art team, the creation these relaxing and immersive environments is something we can’t wait to share with PlayStation players. We hope this post has given you a clear idea of what to expect when Pneuma: Breath of Life launches on July 7th. We can’t wait to see how you guys react to the combination of Pneuma’s unique gameplay, story, and visuals. We’re especially excited to hear your philosophical thoughts you take away from the experience — this really is a thinker’s game. Until then, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! 4. 364. That’s how many days between Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair’s launch and September 1st, the day you’ll finally be able to get your hands on Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls in North America — exclusively for the PlayStation Vita. If you played the first two Danganronpa games, then I’m sure you’ve been waiting with bated breath for the third entry in the series. And if you’re one of those poor souls who never played a Danganronpa game, well then… it just might be time to join dis bear! Still not excited? I think our new trailer will scare you straight. The first two Danganronpa games had a slower pace. You weren’t running away from robotic bears. You were combing through rooms for clues, deciphering suspects’ words for inaccuracies, and shooting out Truth Bullets to pinpoint murderers. This new episode in the lauded Danganronpa series brings its deep and twisted storytelling to a new genre. Unafraid of ActionThis time, you’re playing as Komaru Naegi and Toko Fukawa as they try desperately to escape a city filled with despair. Komaru has been equipped with a megaphone — a hacking gun — that generates Truth Bullets which you’ll use to defeat Monokumas and manipulate puzzles while racing through the streets searching for answers. The situations you find yourself in are varied and intense. Luckily you’ll have a whole host of Truth Bullets at your disposal as you make your way through the terror that fills Towa City. You may find yourself caught in an alley with no escape only to make use of Dance to create a rockin’ (Scary?) dance party. Of course, sometimes you may find it best to create some chaos by chaining together targets with the electric power of Paralyze, and then lighting them aflame with Burn. And then there’s Toko. Armed with her own madness, the way she clears a path can be a touch… crazy. Using a stun gun, she can force herself to switch personalities and become Genocide Jack. I don’t know about you, but a nigh-invincible mad woman wielding scissors that can tear robotic bears to bits scares the bear-jeezus out of me. Scarily EngagingA lot of shooters have a tendency to overlook the story, or make it almost impossible to really become invested in the characters as you race about shooting everything in sight. Danganronpa Another Episode has changed up the pacing enough that both the story and the characters really stand out. Between a mix of puzzles, battling Monokumas, and expertly written exposition sequences, it’s actually hard to not become lost in the struggle between hope and despair. Like the first two games, I’ve written off seemingly wonky characters at first blush, only to find myself rooting for them later, or hating them intensely thanks to how well they’re written. Characters are likable and real — if sometimes completely off their rockers. You’ll be able to join the despair that is Danganronpa Another Episode on September 1st when it hits retail and PlayStation Stores. Until then, you can join NIS America on Twitch on Tuesday, June 23rd for a first look at the game. View the full article
  5. We’re proud to announce that GNOG is launching on PS4 and Project Morpheus next year. GNOG is a (we like to think) special kind of puzzle-adventure game with a focus on discovery and wonder in a universe made up of monster heads. Each monster has its own personality, and a micro-world on its opposite side — you flip back and forth between these two sides, interacting with both and watching how they react. The heads are totally unique, with different puzzles and soundscapes in each, to really emphasise that aspect of playful discovery. We’ve taken a lot of inspiration from games like Windosill and FEZ — which are great little sandboxes of exploration and wonder — as well as toys like Polly Pocket & Mighty Max, which encourage you to look at everyday objects a little differently (like when you see faces in a cloud, a park bench, a street sign…). It’s something we’re incredibly excited to be able to realize thanks to the Sony Pub Fund program, and we think it’s a game that you’ll really lose yourself in if you’re a fan of puzzles, adventures, cool art, and chill music. We’re also super honoured to be part of the Double Fine Presents label, and to have the good folks at DF helping us with production support and design feedback. Double Fine’s history of strong art direction and whimsical worlds has been hugely influential for all of us here at KO-OP, and we’re working hard to bring that style and energy to GNOG. We’re a four-person team based out of Montreal and we started work on GNOG just over a year ago. There was, of course, a lot of experimentation before we found the perfect formula — the game actually started as a 2D platformer (Don’t they all…)! Once we decided to work in 3D and focus on bringing the monster heads to life, though, we knew we were on to something special and intriguing. We’re going to dig into the meat of the game design and the art direction in future blog posts but if you have any questions about GNOG we’d love to hear them! View the full article
  6. You’ve asked for it and we listened. Today we finally get to announce that Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception are being released for the PS4 in the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, available October 9, 2015! Since the launch of the PS4, we’ve seen plenty of requests across our Twitter, Facebook, and message boards all over the internet to provide remastered releases for the first three games in the Uncharted series, which sold an amazing 21+ million copies and garnered an average 92 Metacritic rating. We couldn’t agree more. What better way to prepare for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End than to revisit – or play for the first time – the first three games that launched the fortune hunting icon that is Nathan Drake? Early last month, Eric and I took a trip to Austin on the down low to visit the incredible team at Bluepoint Games to check out Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection in person and get ready for this announcement. What we’ve seen of the game so far looks fantastic! The team at Bluepoint Games is incomparable regarding their portfolio of ports and remastered releases, and we’ve been working closely with them to bring over our engine to make Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection an exemplary game. That means not only delivering the single-player campaigns of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but also adding a range of improvements and additions across all three games including Photo Mode and new trophies. We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates. By pre-ordering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection today, you can receive the Nathan Drake Pack which includes single player skins of iconic Drake outfits as well as everyone’s favorite weapons: the Golden AK-47 and Golden 92FS guns. If you pre-order the digital download via the PlayStation Store, you will also get an Uncharted: Nathan Drake Collection PS4 dynamic theme as an immediate download. Pre-order Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection Oh, and one other important note, buying the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection grants you exclusive access to Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer Beta version (while the Beta is available, of course.) With the release a scant four months away, we’re looking forward to getting you ready for Drake’s next adventure with the remastered versions of these first three Uncharted titles. With luck we’ll be able to put together some opportunities for our fans to see and play parts of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection prior to its release. We’ll keep you posted here in the upcoming months. View the full article

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, you’re in for a wild ride! PlanetSide 2 is a revolutionary, massive scale, first-person shooter where soldiers battle as one in strategic, targeted missions against enemy Empires in an all-out planetary war. Victory requires teamwork and a quick trigger finger to survive the enormous battles. We’re excited to finally bring the game to PS4 so the console gaming community can experience what truly massive warfare is all about! We’ll see you on Auraxis! View the full article

  9. The team here at Psyonix has been overwhelmed by the positive worldwide reaction to our upcoming action-sports game Rocket League. Which is why we want to give you all not one, but FOUR major pieces of information in a single announcement! The first two are right there in the headline: Rocket League will be available for purchase on PlayStation Store July 7th, while Twisted Metal’s famous ice cream truck, Sweet Tooth, joins our roster of playable cars as a special unlockable vehicle exclusively on PS4! Watch our brand new trailer below for proof! What the headline doesn’t tell you is that Rocket League will also be one of the few games in history that supports PS4/ PC cross-play — meaning that owners of both the console version and the PC version will be able to team up or go head-to-head in the same matches when the game launches early next month! And finally, we’re very proud to announce that Rocket League will be making an appearance at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and will be playable in near-finished form. Season Mode, splitscreen multiplayer, car customization, and Sweet Tooth himself will all be available to check out and enjoy all three days of the show. We can’t wait to see you drop by to enjoy it! I know I say it in every post, but on behalf of the entire team at Psyonix, that you VERY MUCH for the continued sentiment, support, and suggestions during the development of this game. Without you, our sequel to Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars never would have happened, and for that, we are forever grateful. See you at E3 and see you once again on July 7th! 11. If you never got around to playing the Metro series, we have some very good news for you! 4A Games has created two huge, free demos — one for Metro 2033 Redux and one for Metro: Last Light Redux — that are available today on PS4. The Metro games are gripping, story-driven first-person shooters based on the works of Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, which combine exploration, survival horror, and stealth gameplay. Set in the shattered ruins of post-apocalyptic Moscow, you play as Artyom — a young Ranger who holds the fate of mankind in his hands. The original Metro 2033 was first released in 2010, with its sequel Metro: Last Light following in 2013. Last year, both games were completely remastered for PS4 and now boast stunning 1080p visuals at 60 frames per second. The Metro games are atmospheric, slow burners, so a short demo doesn’t really do them justice. But we cast our minds back to the shareware days of the 1990s and remembered that when Doom was first released you got the entire first third for free, and only paid if you wanted to play more. We applied this idea to Metro — each Trial contains nine whole chapters, representing several hours of gameplay. If you reach the end of the Trial and want to continue, you can unlock the full version and play on without interruption — you keep your game save / progress! Each standalone game is currently available for $24.99 — so if you haven’t yet experienced the world of post-apocalyptic Moscow, now is the perfect chance to try it. View the full article
  12. Hi all! Erin Robinson Swink of Ivy Games, here. I just wanted to drop in and announce that our game Gravity Ghost is coming to PS4! We couldn’t be more excited about the game’s reception, and we can’t wait to share it with you guys. So excited, in fact, that we’ve added some timed PS4 exclusive content: New constellation with brand new challenge levels 3 additional bonus tracks from the OST by Ben Prunty (composer of FTL) New unlockable player character The game follows Iona, a little ghost girl flying through the cosmos in search of her friend the ghost fox. As she travels through space she meets many unusual characters: giant fantastical creatures known as “Guardians,†a few stranded survivors of a black hole, and the restless spirits of many animals. By reuniting the spirits of dead animals with their bodies, she sees flashes of her life and begins to understand and come to terms with her death. It’s an unusual story for a game, and one I’ve wanted to tell for a long time. The narrative is brought to life by voice actors Logan Cunningham (aka “The narrator from Bastionâ€), Ashly Burch (“Hey Ash Whatcha Playin?â€), and Sarah Elmaleh (“Gone Homeâ€). I was a huge fan of their work before this game and they did a truly marvelous job with the strange universe of Gravity Ghost. This announcement is a huge deal for me and the team here at Ivy Games. I’ve been making games since 2005, but this is the first time I’ve ever made it to a console! Just opening the game and playing it on PS4 is a delight for me and I hope it will be for you as well. Have a great day! View the full article

  14. Last year, we announced that EarthNight would be coming to PS4 and PS Vita. Today, I’m excited to share an update on what’s going on with the game and debut a new gameplay trailer. For the uninitiated, EarthNight is a hand-painted runner made to elevate the endless runner genre with console-quality depth and design. The unbelievably talented artist Mattahan paints every frame of every character, and every element of the game. EarthNight | PlayStation.com Each run begins in space. The player must traverse eight beautifully painted layers of the atmosphere, alternating between skydiving and running on the backs of dragons on the perilous journey down to Earth. Unlike other runner games, there is an end — the planet’s surface is the final world: EarthNight. You can learn the basic mechanics in a few minutes, but the game is hard to master. It takes time and dedication to develop the skills to reach EarthNight. We are creating a game in which each run is unique but feels meticulously hand-designed, where the player always experiences something different while still recognizing patterns. To achieve this we’re using what we call “hand-designed procedural generation.†We’ve broken down each dragon (level) into three chunks: a beginning, middle and end. Each of these chunks has at least five hand-designed variations that spawn procedurally according to a set of rules. This means the most basic dragons have 125 different potential layout variations. The first world contains four different dragons and therefore offers 244 million potential seeds. By World 2, there are over 59 quadrillion seeds and the finished game will have about 6.93 x 10^39 possible seeds. Basically, no matter how many runs you take, your path to EarthNight will always be different. Even though there are endless seeds, over time hand-designed pieces will become familiar. Recognizing patterns with so many seeds may sound impossible, but keep in mind that the first world only draws from 60 unique possible chunks (15 chunks for each of the 4 dragons.) The player will become acquainted with the first dragon pretty quickly since they begin with it every time. Additionally, each dragon’s chunks fit into a theme — for example, the blue dragon in the first world is pretty easy and a good opportunity to regain health, while the black dragon is absolutely brutal — so despite the layouts being random, your dragon selection has consequences. We are honored that Doug Holder, who previously worked on Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us, has officially become the eighth member of the EarthNight team. We’d been looking for a special effects artist who could mesh well with Mattahan’s art style for a long time, and we really lucked out. Using shaders and particles, Doug is adding a whole new visual layer to the game. You can see his contributions on the crystal light energy dragon, the flames on Sydney’s dragon spirit, and all new trails on both characters. We look forward to more awesome visual effects from Doug. I also want to give an update on the game’s music. Our composer, Chipocrite, recently released his latest album, Wordplay, with songs featuring Game Boy, guitar, drums and bass. (If you played EarthNight at E3 last year, you might recognize the track “Little Computer People†from World 1.) He is now fully focused on finishing our soundtrack, and so far it sounds amazing. The game will have chiptune-only versions of songs as well as full-band versions. The other good news is we’ve finished transitioning to Unity 5. EarthNight is running at 60fps in 1080p on PS4, and it looks beautiful. The bad news is we’re pushing back the release date until late 2016. Rest assured, we are working as hard as we can to finish, but we all feel in our hearts that we have something special here and we need to finish what we started the right way. We are getting there, and I promise we will ship this game as soon as it’s ready. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments — I’d be happy to answer them. Thanks for checking out EarthNight! View the full article

  16. Welcome back to PlayStation Underground, our online show about video games! Today, we go underground with Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, a poignant exploration of the apocalypse, and a snapshot of 1980’s England. For those looking for an emotional, story-driven experience, look no further than this upcoming PS4 project. I get mellow on the couch with The Chinese Room Studio Manager Tom Turner, who guides me through an empty — yet somehow idyllic — English town that is left in the wake of a catastrophic event. Tom discusses the team’s passion for the project, the evocative script, and the incredible, dynamic score that adapts to each player’s experience through technical wizardry I dare not attempt. Let me know what you think in the comments, and remember that we’ll be back soon with more Underground in the weeks to come. Enjoy the show. View the full article
  17. Just when you thought it was time to ditch the books and kick back for some lazy summer days, school will be starting right back up. The digital version of Class of Heroes 2G for the PlayStation 3 will be accepting new students June 2, 2015. This is one grid-based, dungeon crawling RPG master’s program you won’t want to miss because we have a launch trailer you get the exclusive first-look at: Starting summer school at Crostini Academy of Adventuring Arts, your school in Class of Heroes 2G, you’ll realize this isn’t your typical place. You’re tests are epic boss monsters, your teachers will get you geared for a life-or-death battle in the labyrinth and your friends stick right by your side to level up. In Class of Heroes 2G, there is a significant amount of brand-new content that RPG fans should be excited to start studying up on. Weather effects can alter the flow of battle, new maps are ripe to explore, HD graphics and bigger bosses to take down. One new addition that is cooler than a neon colored trapper keeper (depending on your generation, you might need to look that up) is the North American exclusive feature that allows your PlayStation Vita to become a second screen and control most of the action. The constant access to menus, statuses and maps will put some adventurers at the top of their class. This digital release marks the wide release of Class of Heroes 2G. A few months earlier, we fulfilled a very small request for physical printed boxed copies of the game that were marked with serialized holograms. It’s the only batch of physical games created so if you see one in the wild, it’s a rare sight indeed. The digital version will be available to download on your PS3 via PlayStation Store for $44.99. 19. Hello PlayStation Vita fans. On behalf of the Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines team, I am excited to announce the in-game competition we are calling Wailer’s Way. Starting today, May 28th, and running until June 10th, there will be a newly named labyrinth called Wailer’s Way which is a special area with the goal to kill as many Oni as possible, and to reach a minimum specified score. Winners will receive a bundle of in-game prizes, so join in! All of the eligibility details for Wailer’s Way can be found on this forum post. Not to be outdone by the in-game competition, beginning on May 28th and running until June 3rd, we are holding a sweepstakes for a chance to win one of these awesome signed Oreshika art books. The books are signed by the creator of Oreshika, Shoji Masuda and the character designer, Makoto Sajima. For all the details on this sweepstakes please go to this forum post. Our team in Europe caught up with the game designer, Shoji Masuda, to find out six things you might not know about Oreshika. We hope you enjoy the little bit of fun facts. 1. How did KÅchin get her name? Shoji Masuda: First, it comes from the English word “coach,†because she’s the character who coaches and guides players in the game. It also comes from the Chinese word for North Star. It’s fitting because the North Star doesn’t move and shines down on you, watching over you — much like how KÅchin watches over your clan as you go through multiple generations struggling against the curse placed upon them. 2. Do you have a favorite “last words†from within the game? Shoji Masuda: For Oreshika, over 800 departing words were created for the game and my favorite one is “our numbers rise, our numbers fall, it is nothing more than the way of the world.†Those words perfectly represent what I felt the first time I held my firstborn in my arms. 3. What were some of the deciding factors in bringing the game to PS Vita? Shoji Masuda: Oreshika is the type of game that you can pick up and play in a casual fashion — perfect for a handheld platform. Nowadays, people have an internet connection pretty much everywhere which allowed the dev team to add the function of players connecting their clans with other players’ clans and interacting with them wherever they happen to be. 4. Any tips for mating with the gods of Oreshika? Shoji Masuda: If you’re a hardcore player who is focused on maximizing your stats, you can choose gods strategically. You could also pick them based on visual appearance. If you like the way a certain god looks, you’ll want to integrate their features into your clan. By picking gods based on visual characteristics, it might take you a bit longer to clear the game because you’re not hyper-focused on status parameters, but it wouldn’t stop you from having a good time! 5. KÅchin moves a lot when sitting still. What brought about all of her animations? Shoji Masuda: If it were a male character, we wouldn’t have been able to make as many actions as we did. The game character creator for KÅchin, basically fell in love with her as he was creating her. He just kept making more and more actions for her — he didn’t want her to be left alone. 6. Being able to see the loot prior to battle is unique. What inspired you to include that game mechanic? Shoji Masuda: As you play this game, you have to think about future generations. In the game, your heredity — your character’s stats are passed on to the next generation. In the real world, a parent’s physical possessions and status in society are all passed down to children as well. With that in mind, we wanted players to see, for example, that there may be an item that they won’t get in this generation, but maybe in the next, or maybe there’s a special item that is bequeathed to you by your parent, who also got it passed down from their parent. We wanted players to develop an affection and treasure the items that they have. We’re excited to leave you with one more exciting announcement before we sign off… We’ve been listening to our fans and we are pleased to launch an Oreshika theme for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV, which will be available on the PlayStation Store on June 2nd! And if you still haven’t downloaded Oreshika yet, the game is currently on sale on PlayStation Store for PS Plus members at $14.99 until June 1st. View the full article
  20. Greetings, amigos! This is Crystal here coming at you from not-so-sunny Melbourne, Australia to bring you the latest Wander update. The first bit of exciting news is (drumroll…) our release date! Those of you who are overcome with desire to explore the lush forests, beaches, and ocean of Wander will be thrilled to know that it launches on PS4 June 4th. Next up is something we’re all pretty excited about, and that is our newest trailer! Featuring all four of the forms players can discover in the game — including the beautiful and agile hira, who is being introduced here officially for the very first time — as well as eye-popping shots of the vast and majestic scenery players can explore. While we were at it, we’ve added a little bit of narration as well just for good measure. Feast your eyes on this, and get ready to wander! Since our time is nearly at hand, we’ve been working hard to develop tons of awesome new features, such as polishing the griffin flying experience to a high-gloss sheen. Anyone who thinks flying will simply be a matter of just pressing a button to get from point A to point B is in for a pleasant surprise, as it will require a little bit of skill and practise to master. Luckily, practicing flying is ridiculously fun, as I can’t think of too many things more satisfying than successfully locating and gliding towards a thermal to have it lift you triumphantly into the air! Just keep your eyes open for downdrafts or you could find yourself grounded, your triumph rapidly turning into a sad trombone noise. Another thing we’ve come up with is a very cool idea for a menu system that doesn’t involve a menu at all! This non-menu will allow the player to manage the map, review their communication glyphs, and change into other forms they’ve found. On top of that, it looks fantastic, too! Now, you all might be thinking: “Glyphs? What is a glyph and what does it have to do with me?†Well, my lovelies, if you want to communicate with other wanderers, it’s not simply a matter of walking up to them and introducing yourself. You’ve got to learn how, just like in real life! You could be talking to someone who speaks a completely different language than you do, after all. Thus, while traversing the rainforest you will come across stones that teach you how to draw symbols, which will allow you to speak to other players. This also makes use of the PS4 controller in a very cool and innovative way, by drawing symbols on the touch pad. So basically, the more you search, the more you can say! Do with this knowledge what you wish. You could become the most helpful person in Wander, using what you’ve learned to help new players find useful and interesting places, lorestones, etc. You could become a legend among wanderers. Or, you could just make some friends and then let them figure things out on their own. Your call. Another cool new feature, for those who really want to take advantage of the vast environment available to them, is skydiving. If you’re a hira, you can request a ride from a griffin buddy by using the helpful new “hop on†feature, fly up as high as you can go, and then plummet spectacularly and gracefully to the ground. You can even land on a griffins back in mid-air, if you’re really talented. I know some of you will look at the floating island and your first thought will be that you’re dying to jump off of it. Well, you can, and in an artistic way, no less. In addition to this, there is also a Wander PS4 theme! So, if you just can’t get enough of the glorious ambiance and rainforest sounds in the game (And let’s be honest, who can?), you’ll be able to enjoy it on your PlayStation dashboard as well. That’s it from me for now! If this little taste of what you will experience while immersing yourself in the world of Wander has got you intrigued, then be sure to get your hot little hands on a copy on June 4th. For my friends on the southern hemisphere, what better way is there to deal with the gloom of winter than by escaping into a sunny, tropical paradise? And for the rest of you, where else can you be a tree, a sea creature, or a griffin? View the full article
  21. We’re excited to welcome PS4 players to ESOTU in just two weeks. When we began development of the console version of the game, we knew we wanted it to feel like it was developed for the PS4, not just another port. With integrated voice chat, a completely redesigned UI, full PSN connectivity and controller support, PS4 players should feel right at home in Tamriel. Today, we’d like to share some details (and some fun things, too!) to help you prepare for launch. Thank you for supporting us through this journey—we hope to see you in Tamriel on June 9th! This is ESOTUOver the past few weeks, we’ve released the first two ‘This is The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited’ videos. In them, we delved into the freedom and choices that shape your experiences in Tamriel, and all of the activities you can enjoy in ESOTU with friends. Today, we’re pleased to present the final video in the series, all about exploration in Tamriel. You can watch all three videos, including the latest one, below. We hope you enjoy it! The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited | PlayStation.com Launch Day TimingOn June 9th, everyone who has purchased The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited will be able to log in at midnight, local time. This means that every hour, players from a new time zone will gain the access to play ESOTU on console, beginning with UTC+14. The Quick Chat SystemAt launch, the console versions of ESOTU will feature a Quick Chat system. This system will allow you to select from a collection of premade phrases to quickly communicate with other players around you. You set them to your shortcuts just like you would a consumable item. Once you’ve assigned the Quick Chat phrase to your shortcut wheel, you simply hold down Right on the D-Pad, then use the R-Stick to choose one. When you use a Quick Chat phrase, it will appear as a text chat bubble, visible to those around you along with an emote. Below are a few screenshots of the Quick Chat system in action. You can have a total of eight Quick Chat phrases on your shortcut bar at a time. There are currently 22 Quick Chat phrases you can choose from, all of which are localized into English, French, and German. We do plan to add more over time, based upon the requests of the ESOTU community. If you have any questions about ESOTU’s console launch or the plans leading up to it, please post them in the comments. We’ll do our best to answer! View the full article

  23. We’ve seen a lot of people enjoying Nom Nom Galaxy since its launch on PS4 earlier this month so we thought we’d share a few of our tastiest, top tips. For those new to the title, hopefully it shows a little more of what the game is all about! As one of SoupCo’s loyal Astroworkers, you’ll help to expand its soup empire across the whole galaxy by harvesting a planet’s ingredients and wildlife to make delicious soup. Two Astroworkers can play together in couch co-op or you can form a team of up to four online! Once you make it through the handy tutorials, you’ll be given all the basic structures you need to set up your own basic soup factories, but as you conquer the market on more and more planets you’ll build up a huge array of buildings, weapons, vehicles, and robots which will allow you to create the huge automated mega-factories of your dreams. 1.) You Can Harvest Baddies Like VeggiesRobots like “Arthur†can attack dangerous creatures for you and then the other robots can collect the tasty ingredients they leave behind! 2.) Warp Gates Are the Shortest Distance Between Two PointsA pair of Warp Gates allow you to teleport back and forth. It’s a great way to explore vast landscapes, hurry back quickly when your factory is under attack, or transport large quantities of ingredients from further areas. Warping yourself around the map comes at a cost, however your robot workers can throw ingredients into a warp gate for free, just waiting to be received by your robot minions on the other side! 3.) Plants Have Needs, Some Have BenefitsFlora and fauna differ on each planet, and many plants have unique properties to discover; Sunflowers won’t grow in the shade, Mushrooms only grow in caves, and Grass will naturally grow almost anywhere with ease. If you eat aquatic Brineweed (the red seaweed), it will replenish your Oxygen and help extend long underwater expeditions! 4.) Chewing Gum?Galactic Gums are awarded to you regularly and can do a number of cool things! Chew some “Oxy Breeze†Gum and your Astroworker will fart out Oxygen as he moves. Chomp on some “Boulder Bash†and you can punch through normally impenetrable solid rock! 5.) Conveyors and EscalatorsAutomating your soup factory means less work for you. Conveyors can be placed next to escalators to carry ingredients and soup cans. 6.) Power ManagementYour factory needs power to keep it operational. All the components of your base need to be connected to keep the energy flowing. Metal girders and vertical struts can also transfer power around your factory! 7.) The Air We BreatheYou can only explore so far as your oxygen supply takes you. Fortunately getting near an Oxygen Flower can re-supply you. When an Oxygen Flower grows tall you can punch to harvest it and plant two more anywhere you like! 8.) Soup MachinesThese machines are the core of your factory, turning harvested ingredients to soup. You’ll notice a green radar on the soup machines, it points towards nearby ingredients! 9.) CombatYou have to defend your base and fight creatures to convert them into tasty ingredients. There’s an assortment of weapons in the game, but if going in fists only, why not hold “Up + Attack†to unleash a powerful DRAGON PUNCH! This move can also lead to air juggles! 10.) Your Boss Robo-Sacho is in the KnowEach planet on your galactic soup building conquest presents a unique set of challenges and secrets for you to discover. Robo-Sacho, on the start of your second day of work, will give you some insight into each planet’s secrets! Our team of soup-pros at Double Eleven and Nom Nom players across the galaxy are finding new and interesting ways to export soup all the time. We’ll continue to publish the best tips, tricks, and epic factory pics @DoubleElevenLtd. View the full article
  24. Looking for the PS Plus lineup? Well, you’ve come to the right place, friends. Please take off your shoes and stay awhile… This month, the lineup includes four games you can play on PS4. And we’re starting off big with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PS4. The latest chapter in the renowned Metal Gear series sends Big Boss into a high-security Cuban military base on a daring rescue mission. Use new stealth techniques along with Snake’s iconic repertoire to infiltrate the base (and perhaps mess around with enemy soldiers along the way). Also on PS4 is Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition, a turn-based strategy game with a twist: your army is undead! Undead samurai, to be exact. Build up your forces and conquer all to reclaim your honor! As mentioned above, both PS Vita games in the lineup are also available on PS4. That’s right, you can play Super Exploding Zoo and Futuridium EP Deluxe on PS Vita and PS4. And rounding out our list is Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and Cloudberry Kingdom on PS3. These games will be free for PS Plus members starting on June 2nd. If you prefer watching videos instead of reading, hit the play button below to see the full lineup. June’s PlayStation Plus Preview Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4)Free for PS Plus members A visually stunning chapter in a long-running, deeply complex series. How do you defend these tasty treats? With a herd of explosive animals, obviously. May or may not induce random dance parties. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (PS3)Free for PS Plus members This first-person shooter celebrates the wild west in a big, bloody way. Take down anyone unlucky enough to cross bounty hunter Silas Greaves. Cloudberry Kingdom (PS3)Free for PS Plus members The dev team behind this insane 2D platformer spent 2 years building an AI that could build a near-infinite number of levels for any difficulty. It looks totally bananacakes. Good luck with that! What were your thoughts on May’s PlayStation Plus game lineup? Before you go, we want your feedback!
