I read somewhere where it's said it (Modern Warfare 2), was going to only be available for Xbox. Don't quote me, and I'll go check it again... No, that's not true. It will be on both consoles, as someone was only 'asking' if it was going to be on the Xbox...which was confirmed 'yes'. So I've just changed the example, from 'MW2' to 'Halo'! lol ;D

Chill-Palmer: I guess my 'main' excitement about it, is that it will 'bridge' the gap between the Console Wars? 'That' (to me), is the Future of Online Gaming. It's not for sure if they will have exclusives or not, but I'm sure that people will be drawn to it by the mere fact that their buddies who love XBox will be able to play together. I 'love' the idea (if it is all they say it's cracked up to be), that the lagg situation will not be prevalent! The games are 'server-side', so ALL OF OUR crappy connection speeds, are not a matter anymore! I'm also looking at the fact that we should be able to still play Socom, being that they say most of the titles WILL BE AVAILABLE. If 'that is the case', then it's just a wonderful thing! Right now, I have ALL Consoles, and "was" going to fish out $2,500.00 for a Media Center PC just so that I could be able to have the availability of PC gaming experience in my media room, but if the 'OnLineâ„¢', is what it's supposed to be, then I won't have to do this! Even with the Consoles that I have now, I am always looking to see what games will be available for what console. 'SOCOM' is only for PS3, 'Modern Warfare 2 HALOâ„¢' is only for XBox, and etc. Does that NOT, sound like something to look forward to? I'm sure everyone see's the potential, I sure do. That's why I brought it up again though...

Ok, they are CORRECT. What I do, gives the 'best possible' quality by using the Dazzle 170 (something like that?) and it's 'S-VIDEO' connection. That's the black plug thingy next to the yellow video (so, you have the L-R Audio which are red and white, then the 'S-VIDEO plug', and then the yellow rca). S-VIDEO, is NOT HD, but is as good...as your COMPONENT connection. (Your DAZZLE does not support COMPONENT connections, only RCA and S-VIDEO). Depending on the type of HDTV you have, you might need to go to Radio Shack and purchase a D/B (Distribution Box) @$50.00. You would need 'that', if you HDTV does NOT have a VIDEO OUT. What the 'D/B' does, is accept 1 input (the OUTPUT, of the PS3), and amplifies and splits equally', so that you have 2 outputs. 1 of the 2 outputs, go to the VIDEO IN/AUDIO IN, of your HDTV...the other outputs, go to your Dazzle. Now, in order to use the 'S-VIDEO', you "have to have the S-VIDEO cable for your PS3", and ALSO set your PS3, to work with 'S-VIDEO'. My setup goes a bit deeper, in that I have other expensive things going on (the Gefen L-R Analog to Digital Toslink Converter: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=5278), ...which turns the L-R AUDIO that goes to the HDTV, into 'DIGITAL AUDIO'...so that I can re-route it back into my 7-1 Surround System. Everything is hidden, so you don't even see anything...until the PS3 is turned on and I connect my notebook to the USB wall socket where the notebook sits, across the room! I 'also' still have the HDMI setup as well! I just have to go into the PS3 settings and 'switch from the S-VIDEO', to the 'HDMI'...depending on whether or not I want to record what I play, or just watch a nice Blue-ray Movie, etc. It's what I have 'NOW', but I will be investing in an HDTV Capture very soon. I already have the 'Abode Premier Pro' Software (which 'does' accept certain outside HD Capture cards!), and everything for that, just have to find time to learn about the many 'HD capture cards' available and etc. But if you just want a good view of the game 'while recording'...the Dazzle is your best bet... But I came here to say this: You were frustrated, 'because that guy did not know how good a player you are, and was annoying you at the loss of his knowledge base...in even 'thinking' that you are a noob. As I see your point, I understand the forum posters remarks. How many 'patches' will it take to have this game finally fixed? I say 'fixed' because you certainly don't see many games coming out (after 2 initial beta tests!), which require soo many patches. And to lean on 'the forum posters' side: They try to fix 'one thing', unlocking a problem with another! When will it ever end? When Confrontation 2 comes out? Just a thought or two. BTW: I played in a 16 v 16 room, and 'was amazed' at the lack of lag! The forum posters must be very critical of their gameplay...because even though I spawned in some 'crazy places'...all I was happy about, was the 'lag was much less'! ~ lmao

I've spent years on why socom has issues of lagg, and why this is not the 'first thing' that gets fixed before re-designing the game-'play'. I am NOW even 'more stumped', at how KZ2 can just come in with 'no lagg issues' and is using the PSN for our stats and Trophy/Rank management. There is definitely something wrong, that I think can be fixed! If KZ2 had a similar issue with lagg as Confrontation...then this point would not be questionable. This is 'also', why I wouldn't pay a dime. Let them fix shhhhh! first, then we can talk about paying for it.

Well, I just upgraded my DSL from the 3meg/.7meg (less than 1 mbp/s) per/sec. to the 7meg/5meg per/sec. plan, which will be available for me to try out in 48 hours. Then I'll see if this really does matter! lmao

Yea, I remember in college about fiberoptics as, since the signal is a beam of light...the light loses NO strength of signal no matter how long the length. I think I will get it next year for sure though. Thanks guys! I really do appreciate the 'heads up' on this issue ;D

SURE! ~ The bastards (Verizon) who gave me the DSL 'promised' the best of at lest '5-7meg down' and '.7 to 1meg up'! As you can see, they failed me! Why would I 'trust' that their FIOS is going to be any better? They are only pushing the FIOS to get people to acquire the TV service as well. I love my DirecTV, and would only want their FIOS Internet. But if they failed me on the promising speeds of FIOS...then I would probably go to jail....(lol ~ Fool me once...you know 'that' story!)

I 'really need help' on how to get a much better connection speed? I have called and called Verizon, but they don't offer much help. You can see why I do not play much, as a connection like 'this' would make anyone not play often. Also, would there be much of any difference, if I connected my PS3 DIRECTLY to the gateway? And lastly, how about having 'one cable internet line' dedicated 'only to the PS3'? Actually I have a complete 'media room' upstairs with the 'PS2', 'Xbox', 'XBox 360' and 'PS3'...but if I had to "dedicate one line just to the PS3"...that would be fine since the other consoles aren't played online as much. Just some advice on how to get Verizon to get me the type of DSL service 'without' changing over to FIOS or anything? We had an actual member who I made the sig for, and I just displayed it because (in another forum), it was considered 'funny!' I would like to do this, but we are in a thread supposedly talking about 'Socom Rank resets', and I get attacked for some stupid kiddish bullshit. In 'no way' has my comments said anything derrogatory against this guy, his beliefs, clan, person, INTELLIGENCE...or his race. This shit just comes out of 'nowhere'! It starts off, where this punk-ass makes a POLL, asking for people to post their choice of a President-elect. Now that he's pissed off that the world made their choice, he attacks me for my sig? My sig represents a moment in History and nothing else. Is he going around tearing up newspapers he wants to read because Obama is on the pages? Is he changing his channels to every station that pops up an Obama Picture? Is he attacking all the people in that Poll that he created, who announced that they were voting for Obama? NO! He comes to ME (as-if) I represent the whole damn world of a moment in History that HE CANNOT ACCEPT! I find it hard that I'm not getting people asking for him to reply an Apology, rather than trying to 'slip this under' the forum rug, requesting that we get back to gaming... He's a "Childish-Punk", and will spend at least the next 4 years in turmoil, because the little child did not get his way. He will get a 'Stimulus Check' and spend it even though he does not agree with the Election!
