  1. Dude!...you're making me laugh! lmao
  2. I agree with the 'first part' of what 'PhillyMac' is saying. The rest of it, I do not agree. I myself see 'Al Sharpton' as an Opportunist, but Jessie Jackson is not a racist. I also think that, just because the 'Bell' family attempted to turn this into a racial thing...that they are wrong for that. We ourselves must look at things for the way they are intended, 'Crimes!' As for this situation, it is clear that the Officers were doing their jobs. 'How' they do their jobs, is totally up to them because they want to go home to their families...as well. I learned from many past experiences, to respect Police Officers. I won a lawsuit back in 1997 against the L.A. Police Deptartment, but I ALWAYS have had respect for them. If you just read about the case, there is 'one point' that simplifies everything; 'when the officers asked them to halt, 'Bell' jumped in his car and, in trying to escape...bumped one of the officers and a 'Police Van' that had just converged to the scene: "Isnora (one of the cops), claimed that after he warned the men to halt, Bell pulled away in his car, bumped him, and rammed an unmarked police van that converged on the scene. The detective also said Guzman made a sudden move as if he were reaching for a gun." Just the 'underlined' part alone...was enough for the Officers to start shooting! That is 'Attempted Assault w/Vehicle! ~ and I say that if you do it to a Police Officer...'You're gonna get shot' and they aint thinking about how many times they reload their clips. "Once you do that...'It's on, Brotha!'' ~
  3. The Dallas Mavericks has 'fired' Coach Avery Johnson today, the first of what's likely to be many offseason moves after the team with the league's highest payroll 'keeps flopping', in the first round of the playoffs. Even though he got them to three-plus seasons, owner Mark Cuban just couldn't tolerate two straight years of first-round exits. Or, maybe it was the fact that Dallas has gone 3-12 in the playoffs. Or maybe, it was Mark Cuban 'still not getting over' them 'blowing a 2-0 lead' in the 2006 NBA finals against Miami (take your pick!). The Mavericks followed that 2006 disappointment by the embarrassment of being ousted by Golden State in the 'opening round' last season, in 'one of the biggest upsets in league history'. And they were just dumped in five games by Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets! And last of all, Dallas didn't win a single road game against the Heat, Warriors or Hornets, so I guess that the 0-9 skid...was just 'too much' to overcome. So long, Avery
  4. Many of us may not know what 'Tow and Sniper' have to go through, just to get these things going. There is alot of time (which can be correlated to money), and they deserve 'something' for it. The monies submitted, may not even come 'close' to what they may be spitting out for us. It is basically only asking for $3.25 per person for just an 8 man roster. Yet we spend $60 (individually), on some video games... I personally think we should re-think the money issue, before they decide to start charging monthly dues for the Urgent Fury (ooops! that slipped out, 'Tow'! ~ lmao)
  5. Goat: Where the 'Hell' were you, when "I" needed help 3 years ago? ~ lmao You guys are better than the Salesguys at the places where we buy this stuff! ;D My advice to 'anyone wanting the newest gadgets, etc'...is to read up on it 'yourself' call up 'GOAT' ~ j/k'ing (seriously, I mean to ask some people who already know about it), because the salesguys are only out to get your money. They 'do not' have your best interests, at heart...
  6. OK (lol), I tried to give make it seem simple, but you are not new to this! Heres the actuality: It 'does' upcovert, but it is not much better than that 720p signal is. You will never get 'much more' than what the input signal puts in, even though your HDTV will upconvert...the upconverting won't be noticed. This is why you don't see much of any difference between the 720p, and the 'forced' upconvert. Your HDTV is only stretching each pixel, to fit 'its screen'. My HDTV 'knows the difference', so if I try to 'force it', it only puts it back to the best resolution of the input.
  7. Ok, there is 'nothing wrong' with your setup: 1. "Your 'input' is your 'output'", which means that the maximum resolution you can get out, is what you put in. No games have been made higher than 720p, so 'that' is what you're gonna see. 2. When you 'force' your HDTV to 1080p, it will only just go back to whatever your input resolution is capable of. This is 'why you dont see any difference' because the HDTV switched back to the inputs resolution. When you watch a Blu-ray or any Television Broadcast (that is 'Broadcast', in HD!), then you will see the 'TRUE POWER'...of your investment!. Also, 1080p just came out, and ALL HD-BROADCASTS are 'only' in 1080i (at the moment!), which has been done for 3 years or so. You will see the 1080p, if any of your inputs (blue-ray movies), are recorded in that format. Hope this helps to keep you from 'frying your brain' on the matter ~ lmao...you're just fine!

  9. Smart Excuses: I've Earned It: No one can argue with performance. Come in two or three hours early -- or stay late -- for a week or two. Then negotiate a day off in advance. "Really work when you're there, so you'll be able to feel good about taking time off," says Andrea Nierenberg, president of The Nierenberg Group, a management consulting and personal marketing practice. I'm Playing Golf with a Client: For this one to work, you've got to have a job that requires you to meet and court current and prospective clients. Neil Simpkins, an account executive at Oxford Communications, has used this one successfully. One note of caution: Meet the client; don't just say you did. I Have a Doctor's Appointment: This excuse will get you out of work for a half-day or so. Make the appointment first thing in the morning or late in the day, say around 3 p.m. You can leave the office by 2:30 p.m. and get home (hopefully) by 4 p.m. The shortened day will help you recharge, especially if you schedule it on a Friday afternoon. I Have Cramps: Before you dismiss this one, think about it: Who can argue? "It's such an embarrassing topic that nobody will ever challenge it," says Jennifer Newman, vice president of Lippe Taylor Public Relations. She has used this excuse -- and had it used on her -- successfully. "It's one of those things that men honestly have no clue about, and women can sympathize with." One important point: Don't use this one if you're a man. It'll never work. I'm Working from Home: This is an excellent way to give yourself a break if your company allows it. Although you'll need to do some work, you can generally get away with a shortened day. And you'll eliminate your commuting time. Not-So-Smart Excuses: There's a Death in the Family: Don't ever use this excuse if it's not true. Your employer will lose all trust in you. "I had an employee whose mother died -- twice," says David Wear, a Virginia PR executive. "He also had the misfortune of losing all his grandparents -- 12 of them -- during a two-year period." My Baby-Sitter Didn't Show: This one, would probably work, only you will have to tell a consecutive story to your 'wife' when she asks 'why arent you at work?' Either way, it is 'still' worth a try. I Can't Get My Car Out of the Garage: This is one, that your boss probably won't buy. An employee said that a power failure was preventing him from opening his power-operated garage door. "His boss, reminded him that there's a pull chain on it for just such cases," so be warned. I Have 'Jury Duty', All This Week: Not that your boss is stupid, but 'rarely' will your boss require proof. In such cases, it would be a good idea to have a friend in 'Photoshop' to make you a 'summons copy'. I Have a Personal Emergency: This one is so vague that it rarely works. It could mean anything from fatigue to an appointment with your hairdresser, and your boss knows it.
  10. Ok First off, there are 4 Modes of Multiplayer (this info is on the GTA: 4 site, but I thought I would put it here. If it is a bit too much, then 'Admins'...gladly remove): Team Mode Cooperative Mode (more info soon...) Competitive Mode (more info soon...) Race Mode In 'Team Mode', there are 5 Match Types! Listen Carefully: Team Deathmatch Team Mafiya Work Team Car Jack City Cops N' Crooks (* two versions: 'All for One', and 'One for All') Turf War * In 'Cop N' Crooks, you can play two versions: 'All for One', the Crooks have a 'Boss' that they must protect. If the 'Boss' dies, the Crooks Lose. 'One for All', the Crooks and the Cops go at it. There is 'No Boss', and whichever side kills the other side, Wins. 'TEAM MODE' MATCH TYPE 'EXPLANATIONS OF PLAY': Team Deathmatch (2-8 Teams!): Players work as a team to rub out other teams for money - and the crew with the most cash at the end of the rounds wins. Take the other crew down. Remember to 'loot' (take!), the cash dropped by deceased players. Thats the way to get ahead. Team Mafiya Work (2-8 Teams!): You're a member of a crew doing 'contract work' for the mafiya - including such plum sigs as, 'escorting wanted men', 'picking up MacGuffins ( ) and stealing cars'. Work as a team to complete contracts before the time period ends and get the rewards. You'll probably want to do your best to scupper you other crews work as well. Each Contract you complete gives your team cash, and the crew with the most cash at the end of the round wins. Team Car Jack City (2-8 Teams!): Cars spawn parked around the map and the teams must steal them and take them to a drop-off point. The cash teams get, from dropping off stolen vehicles 'depends on their condition' - teams get 'less' cash, the more damaged their cars are. The exception to this, are Bonus Cars, stuffed with drugs, which give a 'set amount' of cash on delivery 'no matter how damaged they are'. Your crew has to get hold of whatever vehicles the boss wants. Whichever crew makes the most money wins. Simple! Cops N' Crooks (2 Teams Only!): A 'Team-Based' mode in which the Crooks must get their Boss to safety, while the 'Cops' have to take him down. The Boss, is marked with a 'Cross-hair'. This mode has 'two sub-modes', 'All for One' and 'One for All': All for One: One team is made up of 'Crooks and a Boss', and the other team is made up of 'Cops'. The Cops are trying to hunt down and kill the Boss, while the Crooks are trying to protect him. The Cops win by 'Killing the Boss', and the Crooks win by getting the Boss 'safely' to the get-away vehicle, and escaping. One for All: Similar, but 'there is NO Boss'. Here, the Cops win by killing all of the Crooks, and the Crooks win by filling up a get-away vehicle with members of their team. Only 4 people can escape in the get-away vehicle. Players 'cannot respawn', in this mode. BOTH of these variations can be won by the 'Cops', if they manage to destroy the get-away vehicle. Turf War (2 Teams Only!): A 'timed' capture-the-base mode. There are a number of bases around the map that you have to take by 'standing on them' for a short period of time. The 'more player that are on a base'...the 'faster it can be captured'. The more bases that your team owns, the faster your teams 'cash score' increases. If the rival gang is 'on' or 'near' a base, you 'wont be able to take control of it' - so do what you can to try and...'displace' them. The team with the most cash at the end of the rounds wins. In 'Race Mode', there are 2 Match Types! Check 'this' out: Race GTA Race 'RACE MODE' MATCH TYPE 'EXPLANATIONS OF PLAY': Race: Race to the finish through each checkpoint in order. If you take a wrong turn or mess up in some way, you can 'respawn' your vehicle on the last checkpoint you passed. There is a large selection of races for 'cars', 'motorcycles', 'boats' and 'helicopters' - you can choose 'laps' and vehicle 'class / types'. This mode, has 'two sub-modes', 'Free Race' and 'Cannonball Run': Free Race: Point-to-Point Races. First one to reach the 'end point' wins. Cannonball Run: Races where you have to traverse several check points 'any way you can'. GTA Race: Similar to the orthodox Race, but with the added element of 'Combat'. Race and Fight your way through check points 'in order' and then hit the finish, but 'this time' you can also pick up weapons spawned 'in route'...to help 'take out' your opponents! You can also 'exit the vehicle' during the road races.
  11. I just wanted to make a suggestion: Couldn't you always (once they've gone to your site), channel them, to the 'correct' recruiting area...either on your site, or in your forum?
  12. When you sign on to Socom 3/CA, the 'top menus' have 'Socom Store' as one of the selections. You have to navigate because I don't give directions well, but 'there' you have the opportunity to purchase (with a debit/credit/gift card that has that Visa or M/C logo), one or both map packs (map pack #1 and map pack #2). Once you have purchased, it offers the 'downloading' of the map packs. On the PS3 (with the update installed), it will not ask you where to D/L, it knows automatically (the partition calls itself the 'memorycard 2' slot, though).
  13. I 'did notice' this much: 1) It makes a separate area for your PS2 games to have its own memory location 'apart' from your PS3 games storage (thus, 'partitioning' the HD into two hard drives, inside of one). 2) For PS2 Socom 3/CA Map packs (both!), you are "NOW ABLE TO GO TO THE SOCOM STORE, AND DOWNLOAD YOUR 'PAID FOR' MAP PACKS...ONTO YOUR PS3 HARD DRIVE!" ~ (No need to use your flash drives in this process, whatsoever...just go to the store and download!)

  15. 'Trump Stump' from the Swump, was trying to take a Dump. When it all came out, it was heaped up in a Lump. He didn't want to fart...so he laid back in a Slump, But this did not work...it hit the water with a 'Clump'. Now, when Trump Stump from the Swump Slumped, He heard the 'Clump' and Jumped! Forgot about the over-head cabinet, heard a Thump! ...so now Trump Stump from the Swump who Lumped, when he Slumped, got Pumped and made it go Clump, Jumped and hit his head on the Stump...so now he has a BUMP. ~ Now, BUMP 'that'...I 'double BUMP' ya! ~ Lmao PS: My next one will be titled, 'Things that go 'BUMP', in the night.'
  16. Oh yea! That's right! And, not trying to be funny...Commander Fury 'did' make me want to go and try that game from listening to that interview on the podcast!
  17. No, Neo...You will only need to stab 'one' person! That will leave others for the 'rest of us' to show up there, and stab! ;D

    Very Nice

The Staff will probably help you out, but what I did...was use one of the 'other' 2 options (out of the 3), and used a 'link', instead of picking it off my computer.
  19. CritiKiL

    Very Nice

Oh, cool! Thanks Sniper...Yea, I see it. I don't think that it gets any better than this, "now!"

    Very Nice

Nice upgrade! Really like the new site as well... Only thing is, it does not show the posters PM, Website and etc. 'link info' in the Avatar area... :'(
  21. NICE WORK! -RAGE-...YOU HOLDIN' OUT ON ME HUH? NEVER SAID 'ONE WORD!' COULD'VE HINTED OR SOMETHING, BUT I'M LOVING THE NEW SITE! VERY WELL DONE, AND TACTFULLY TOO...
  22. I was just reading the 'news banner' and it said '[uF] Black for PS3 "AND" [uF] Crucible! Just hoping to get this confirmed from [uF] Staff though...

    New Socom TV

I agree with the 42" option, because they say that 'proper distance' plays a large part in your total viewing distance. I'm 5-9 feet away from a 42" and that's what the specs are for that size...and it seems perfect! Being on a larger set (and of course, being further away!), takes away from the game, somehow. Watching a 'movie' is a whole different ball game, but we're talking about gameplay, right? ~ lol..

    Website Wars ?

I agree with APOCALYPSE, and in the idea...that you can make determinations based on the Clans participation 'in' the site, how well the forum topics are catagorized (for best navigation, etc.), what topics are discussed (is it just rambling, or are they actually organized in making themselves 'better' as far as goals set), and etc. The 'look' of the site is just a small part of the functality. You'll get a quick look, but once you get past that...the inside, the function, the participation, the amount of outside visitors...all are capable of being judged! I just think that alot of people focus too much on the 'look', but it is actually 'whats underneath' that makes a good website! ;D
