  1. I don't know what the OP is, but short ... well FOR SURE!
  2. Saw these in San Diego. We don't have signs like that here where I'm from.
  3. You've done a better job of proving my point than I have.
  4. I feel ya. And I'm not condoning the lie. I think the point I was trying to make is that I don't believe his intent was malicious and people tend to focus on the wrong things when these kinds of things are brought up. People lose sight of the real issue. And speaking of "ranking up" ... I've read many posts where people are berated and spoken of in a negative light for ranking up and to now have people say "Who cares about that?" doesn't jive. (BTW, I don't know anything about FW. Is Tow saying John and Shane are FW members? If so, then I can certainly understand why someone would feel intimidated to step forward.) I don't know. My opinion is never popular opinion. Never has been. I just think we should all be a little more understanding. Thank you Hippie. I was sitting here reading these post and was thinking, really people don't care about ranking up anymore, when did this happen ? I mean whole clans have been banned from UF just because of members ranking up. So to shove the issue aside and focus on the matter in which the issue has been brought up instead of the issue at hand seems like everyone is trying to give FW a pass in some way. Wasn't Luck banned, or at the very least, receive a whole bunch of hell for the whole COD prestige thing? No different than ranking up. So now that we have established that ranking up is not allowed in UF, what's next?
  5. Dude, you better be careful mentioning some of those names. You might get chided for that! :-X

  7. OK....but if you didn't want it to appear to be just sour grapes, then why not be honest? You've totally ruined that by creating another username and a cover story. Now we can't look at that objectively can we? YOU have started this out with a lie.... I don't agree. Had he come in here as "phantom phrag" then IMMEDIATELY he would be accused of sour grapes and the real issue would have been lost in "he said, he said". Damned either way, really. I think we should start over here and look at the real issue which is ranking up. (IMO, )

    The Cove

The latest ... IT'S OFFICIAL: THE COVE WILL OPEN IN JAPAN! REPORT FROM RIC O'BARRY: It's official, "The Cove" will open in Japan! I can’t tell you all how tumultuous the last few weeks have been. Our greatest hope has always been to open “The Cove†in Japan. It’s the most powerful tool we have in ending the dolphin slaughter. Once people see it they have such a better understanding of the captivity issue, the IWC and more importantly, the senselessness and brutality with which these dolphins are dying. So when theaters started cancelling their bookings, I got worried. When nationalists managed to shut down several campus screenings, I was convinced that this film would never make it into theaters. I started to really question Japan’s resolve as a democracy. Check out: In Reversal, Some Japan Theaters to Screen ‘The Cove’ By HIROKO TABUCHI http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/22/world/asia/22japan.html Sometimes it only takes one person to stand up and say something is wrong. In this case, Unplugged’s CEO Takeshi Kato, would not rest. Kato San has traveled from city to city – Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, to name a few – meeting with theater owners. He was able to convince several theaters to not only keep the film but to come forward and stand up for the right to show it. If you ask me the nationalists picked the wrong door to knock on when they went to Kato San's house. He gathered others that are concerned about freedom of expression, and we put together a symposium at the Tokyo Bar Association. Four of the theater owners came forward, along with notable journalists, film directors and pundits. In all, the following people participated: - Mr. Shinodo, Editor in Chief of Tsukura Publishing - Kei ishizaka, popular cartoonist - Kunio Suzuki, former leader of right wing group Issuikai - Soichiro Tahara, renowned journalist - Yoichi Sai, film director - Mr. Matsumara, theater owner, Osaka - Ms. Kamiya, theater owner, Kyoto - Mr. Hirano, theater owner, Nagoya - Mr. Nagasawa, representative, Forum Theaters More than 100 press attended with 11 camera crews, including the majors, TBS and NHK. We held it at the Tokyo Bar Association. Each theater owner spoke to the fact that they felt threatened, but that it is important to stand up. Kato San announced that six theaters will open the film on July 3, with 16 more the following week. I can’t thank Kato San and his team enough. Especially Miyuki Takamatsu, who has been running all the press and has been our rock since we got to Japan. Thank you also for contributing to the Japan Campaign. We have a chance to reach the Cause Fundraising goal, thanks to you. Domo Arigato! Ric O'Barry and the Save Japan Dolphins Team

    The Cove

The Japanese eat whale meat. It's sold in markets there. But the deal with dolphin meat is that it is sold as whale meat, so people think they are buying whale meat but are buying dolphin meat. The problem with that is that dolphin meat is highly toxic. It's filled with mercury. They compare dolphins to a toxic waste dump. So these people are being poisoned without their knowledge. All of this is in the movie. The movie isn't just about the dolphin slaughter. It's also about the mercury poisoning of unsuspecting Japanese. So, if the movie was shown in Japan, then the word would be spread about this.

So the latest on all of this is that Ric O'Barry has been fighting to show this film in Japan. He's been meeting tons of resistance from nationalist groups and now it has turned into a lead story about censorship in Japan which is helping to spread the word. People are actually making death threats against theaters who were going to show this film! Last I read, Ric was on CNN talking about it and a Japanese website will be showing it in it's entirety along with some theaters that aren't caving. Crazy stuff!
  11. Yes, Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. Hope your day was a good one!
  12. Can I just say how much I appreciate the eval process here at UF? It sure saves the rest of us quite a bit of headache.
  13. x2!
  14. Dude, be you. Pooh, pooh on the haters!
  15. Oh yeah! ;D
  16. So NOONE thought this was funny? My husband and I were cracking up. If you look at the pics of the guys on thesmokinggun.com link, you can tell that the Melcher dude looks like a prank playing little sh*t. And by the looks of it the one dude is a sniper. I just think its funny to see these brave soldiers having fun and not taking themselves too seriously.
  17. I love this! Glad that these guys who risks their lives daily can find time to have fun. You can read about it here: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2010/0430101afghan1.html

  19. TRUE DAT!!!!
  20. The type of women that are looking for successful men are not looking for any that have pants that can double as a parachute. As a woman, I second that. But what do I know? I'm also the kind of woman who thinks people who put all their business (ie. Ex-wife to ex-husband: "Where's my child support?") on FB for the world to see are about as classless as you can get.
  21. I got it too. Shut it down immediately because I just reformatted my drive last week because of a virus and I am soooo afraid I am going to get another one.
  22. You can't miss New Orleans! You and your friends would have a GREAT time there. Austin, Texas has some great places to see. Lots of good music. Also, New Mexico is pretty, too. Your definitely should go south!
  23. I got a 50"! 52" Samsung here! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!
