Fans eagerly awaiting next month's release of Red Dead Redemption should mosey on over to Rockstar's Gunslingers Facebook app, where they can work out their frustrations against each other the old-fashioned way - with a barrage of hot lead. Red Dead Redemption: Gunslingers is a Facebook app that sees players shooting it out for top billing as the honeriest cuss this side of the Mississippi, or something like that. Players pick from one of three classes - Fast Hands, Sharpshooter, or Outlaw - and then participate in duels in order to earn experience and level up their skills. Duels play out as little animated movies, with different shot locations drawing varying degrees of damage. Pro tip: do not get shot in the head, it hurts. It's a nifty little diversion that only requires a few mouse clicks to play, which is just how the Facebook crowd likes it. Take seven of your spare minutes today to watch Modern Warfare: Frozen Crossing, a tribute to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series, if only to see how much fan film $209.42 USD can buy you. Of course, that sum doesn't take into account the value of the talent involved in putting together this Modern Warfare film together, created by the folks at Corridor Digital, but that should become apparent while watching. Yeah, you were able to install Linux on your PS3 and use it like a regular computer. Sony is quick to point out the install is "optional", but then, if you refuse to upgrade, you'll no longer be able to sign into the PlayStation Network or play any PS3 games (or Blu-Rays) that require v3.21 (or higher). So no, for many people, it's not really optional.
