Leadshower, I warned you and ALL [Ea*] that I had given you a final warning to not spam this forum and to follow all forum guidelines. I warned you that you wouldn't like what would follow. Like I said. I can be pretty creative. If I were you, Leadshower, I would come on back here in a few days. I think you'll really like what you're going to see on this thread. I'll be sure to keep your account here active so you can. That way, you'll also be able to run back to anyone who is even THINKING of being as stupid as you just were. Also.....if I were unfortunate enough to be you, I would also be vary wary of posting garbage like this again. Otherwise, what you see here in a few days will be nothing compared to what will follow. Take care and have a safe and warm holiday. We'll all be able to send you Christmas cards very soon.

Hey there, everyone.... Well, thus far, I'd like to say that we consider the new UF: Hell Week and UF Eval Team a great success. We think the process works a lot better and, as we focus on the new incoming clans during Hell Week, it allows us a very acute look at the whole evaluation of a clan. Well, as many of you can tell, we're getting a LOT of clans signing up for Hell Week! So much so that there are some clans that will be waiting 2-3 MONTHS before being evaluated. With this sudden spring in applications, we'd like to see, come January, if we can expedite the process by putting two clans through Hell Week at a time. We can do this by bolstering our UF Eval Team ranks. Joining the UF Eval Team is easy. As long as you're part of an active UF clan, and you have the blessing of your clan leader(s), then you're IN. All you have to do is PM the UF Eval Team form and you're good to go, on your way to helping UF evaluate the clans that will soon be populating it. I know that a few clans, Uprising and Hollow Ground, were left off the UF: Black January action because of your late applications. Perhaps joining in on some Hell Week wars will give your gunners the opportunity to keep the skills sharp and their bullets flying. Anyway...this is the open call, UF Community! If you care to help, please head to the UF Eval Team form, fill it out and PM it to me: http://www.urgentfury.com/uf_forum/index.php?topic=12403.0 We can use this last week of December to acclimate any new requests to become part of the Eval Team so that when January 5th hits, we'll be good to go and can evaluate two clans at once during Hell Week.

UF: BLACK JANUARY Invites posted tonight at 10pm CST
TOW-19 replied to TOW-19's topic in Playstation
Sorry, guys. We NEVER want to leave clans out, but we have to keep the tourney structured in at least sets of 8. You and Uprising would have been great clans to have in Black January, but you guys signed up late. The day before, to be precise. SO....I guess the answer to "what can you do" would probably be "sign up sooner." I think we had sign-ups up for at least 2-3 weeks. Hopefully we'll see you in the next one. -
Well THAT was probably one of the better rooms I've been in in a LONG time. We had it up at around 10:00pm CST and I logged off at about 2:45am with quite a few guys still in there. Had a good mix of RVN, 101, cBF, oNe, *N* and others in there. Good stuff, guys! I'll be sure to put up more of these UF.com rooms and post up on these threads when we do! I don't think any map went by when it wasn't intense back and forth.

On the Black January invitations, it reads as: "Congratulations, You are one of 28 clans invited to participate in UF: Black January! For three weeks in January, over 9 wars, you will be compiling your best stats for the ongoing Black tourney on your way to reaching the playoffs in December of 2009! You will need to read the following CAREFULLY and complete everything to the LETTER if you wish to accept your invite." There was a typo in the introduction. It should read as 24 clans invited to UF: Black January, not 28 as it was initially typed. Thank you.

Banks that are getting taxpayer bailouts awarded their top executives nearly $1.6 billion in salaries, bonuses, and other benefits last year, an Associated Press analysis reveals. The rewards came even at banks where poor results last year foretold the economic crisis that sent them to Washington for a government rescue. Some trimmed their executive compensation due to lagging bank performance, but still forked over multimillion-dollar executive pay packages. Benefits included cash bonuses, stock options, personal use of company jets and chauffeurs, home security, country club memberships and professional money management, the AP review of federal securities documents found. The total amount given to nearly 600 executives would cover bailout costs for many of the 116 banks that have so far accepted tax dollars to boost their bottom lines. Rep. Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services committee and a long-standing critic of executive largesse, said the bonuses tallied by the AP review amount to a bribe "to get them to do the jobs for which they are well paid in the first place. "Most of us sign on to do jobs and we do them best we can," said Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat. "We're told that some of the most highly paid people in executive positions are different. They need extra money to be motivated!" The AP compiled total compensation based on annual reports that the banks file with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The 116 banks have so far received $188 billion in taxpayer help. Among the findings: _The average paid to each of the banks' top executives was $2.6 million in salary, bonuses and benefits. _Lloyd Blankfein, president and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs, took home nearly $54 million in compensation last year. The company's top five executives received a total of $242 million. This year, Goldman will forgo cash and stock bonuses for its seven top-paid executives. They will work for their base salaries of $600,000, the company said. Facing increasing concern by its own shareholders on executive payments, the company described its pay plan last spring as essential to retain and motivate executives "whose efforts and judgments are vital to our continued success, by setting their compensation at appropriate and competitive levels." Goldman spokesman Ed Canaday declined to comment beyond that written report. The New York-based company on Dec. 16 reported its first quarterly loss since it went public in 1999. It received $10 billion in taxpayer money on Oct. 28. _Even where banks cut back on pay, some executives were left with seven- or eight-figure compensation that most people can only dream about. Richard D. Fairbank, the chairman of Capital One Financial Corp., took a $1 million hit in compensation after his company had a disappointing year, but still got $17 million in stock options. The McLean, Va.-based company received $3.56 billion in bailout money on Nov. 14. _John A. Thain, chief executive officer of Merrill Lynch, topped all corporate bank bosses with $83 million in earnings last year. Thain, a former chief operating officer for Goldman Sachs, took the reins of the company in December 2007, avoiding the blame for a year in which Merrill lost $7.8 billion. Since he began work late in the year, he earned $57,692 in salary, a $15 million signing bonus and an additional $68 million in stock options. Like Goldman, Merrill got $10 billion from taxpayers on Oct. 28.

I think it was around two when cBF called it a night. It was like 5 on our team to 2 on their team and I called it a night myself. You must have just missed us.

THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE! The deadline to get your submissions in to Cmdr. Fury is today at 3pm CST!

I'm going to post this ONLY ONCE. You will desist in continuing to flame this tourney on its own forum. If you continue, and this is specifically for you Ea* guys, then you will not enjoy what follows. I'm not joking. Please heed the warning I get pretty creative, some have said.
-
Nope. You glitched on a control point on Urban Wasteland. That's why you were rejected. You guys keep conveniently forgetting that. We will. We'll be here in Urgent Fury. We hope you have a great day as well wherever you decide to hang your hats. BigHerm, if you continue to flagrantly disregard our forum rules by blowing up and flaming members of this community with comments like "faggots," then you will be removed. This is a warning. And again...thank you for continuing the crusade of proving why the decision made was the right one.
-
I will not have to post anymore on the reasons why Ea* is not suited for Urgent Fury. You will just do that for me. AGAIN, and I'll keep being polite as long as you'll allow me.......we wish you WELL. Take care.
-
I'll try to be as polite about this as possible so that you don't misunderstand this response as me beating a dying horse...even though you're asking UF to look at our "childishness in the goddamn mirror." You WERE given a chance. Hopefully you didn't miss that notion when you were in "UF: Hell Week...EVALUATION tourney." We never clouded what a clan gets evaluated for. It's not about kills. We don't care if you rush, we don't care if you camp and we don't care if you think camping is weak and should only be done when you're losing. What we DO care about is the CHARACTER of a clan. Understand, not EVERYONE here in this community wins a tournament. We have a few handfuls of tournaments this past year, and we have a HANDFUL of clans that were declared "winners." So no, it's not about skill here. It's about winning with honor. It's about losing with dignity. It's about respect GIVEN, not respect expected. We're fully aware that clans will put on a good face for a week in order to get into the community. The posts on the PSU forums weren't taken from last year or 6 months ago. They're VERY recent. And those comments are VERY indicative of the type of clan that you are, and simply put, it's not suited for this community. Sure, you have skill and you can win some games. Guess what? You just joined the ranks of thousands of other clans out there. Congratulations. What URGENT FURY requires is a clan that has CHARACTER, not just wins in a senseless win column. You're incorrect thinking we take this game too seriously. That is, in fact, what YOU do. What WE do is take players' characters seriously. To preserve this fine tournament and its community so that it remains what it started as....a premier gaming community. Sorry, but ultimately this is just a war you're just going to lose. We have NO use for clans who TRY to be an Urgent Fury clan. We're interested in those clans who BELONG here. And believe me, there are far fewer clans that belong than clans that don't. But that only means that you'll have plenty of company in any other tournament site you choose to take your clan to. Might I suggest http://www.chaostactics.com Take care, please, and I wish you well in whatever avenue you decide to take with your clan and its future wars. - TOW

LOL.....no. Holidays are for family. We get you the other 360 days of the year.

Attention clans of UF, The UF: Black January invite night has been slightly amended in the Black January section of the forum. Originally it stated that invite night would be 12-24-08. It was an oversight that that night would be Christmas Eve. The invite night for UF: Black January has been pushed up to 12-23-08, Tuesday. All applications for UF: Black January by qualifying clans of the UF Community must be submitted before Tuesday evening. Thank you.

Bleach, if you wanted to take the time to edit it in a way that would showcase some good plays by both clans (of course, eventually showcasing the winner) then UF would host the video on the main website. Up to you, but the offer to showcase your work is out there for you. If you're interested, PM me.

Yes, the Eye Create program, which is a free download from the PS store, can be used to create audio files...and you can just use your headset to create the files (do not need a PS3 Eye). Remember the deadline!
