Huh? What section?
-
What I'M wondering now is whether lucky loops follow clans no matter what side they play. It totally escaped me, actually, that the point totals are from TWO matches, not just one. So luck and loops and what not followed a clan on BOTH sides of the map for the match? Is this going to be the official stance on this? I mean.....boiling it all down....in a nutshell?
-
See, I read that, as I've been reading it through all of your posts, and I still come to thinking the same thing. "Good set up. They outplayed 'em." Not anything about a "loop" or any unfairness. I don't know. Perhaps I'm completely wearing blinders on here....but it seems very fair and very cut n dry here. 1: SHO 2: TNU 3: 226 4: 503 1. Home Team: [PBK] 2. Away Team: {cBS>} 3. Home Points: 650 4. Away Points: 220 1: DSM 2: OGC 3: 425 4: 495 1. Home Team: Dark 2. Away Team: iMr 3. Home Points: 130 4. Away Points: 810 1. Home Team: aKr 2. Away Team: SxB 3. Home Points: 225 4. Away Points: 740 1: [\H/] - Home 2: [iG] - Away 3: 0 4: 965 1: The HOME team-+30 2: The AWAY team-LPK 3: Point total for HOME team-650 4: Point total for AWAY team-330 1. Home Team: [FBR] 2. Away Team: [DSy] 3. Home Points: 1000 4. Away Points: 0 1. Home Team: AoA 2. Away Team: --> 3. Home Points: 15 4. Away Points: 1000 1. Home Team: [*S*] 2. Away Team: [101] 3. Home Points: 115 4. Away Points: 995 1. Home Team: [APC] 2. Away Team: [odc] 3. Home Points: 850 4. Away Points: 130 1: Home Team[Aov] 2: Away Team[DOM] 3: Home points = 185 pts 4: Away points = 940 pts Of the above, I see a good mix of solid-looking games, some dominating games, and two blow-out sweeps, one being your war against [iG]. Considering any ONE HQ point can give a clan around 50-60 points if held down well, not all matches will be 10-20 point differential close games. I, personally, just see some clans having a better approach to this mode/map than others....and we ALWAYS see that in UF matches. It's not about the "better clan." It's about the "better-PREPARED clan." I don't think any one clan is ever an always-present-powerhouse. I've seen some clans on persistent losing streaks beat out a "top-rated" clan because they prepared their asses of for it. Kinda like any NFl team going up against the Patriots this season....LOL. Of course, we won't dismiss what you say. We'll catalog it away with any other input we get. But from what I see from the above, I think the HQ mode with the delay is fine. In every match, there is a winner and a loser, and I think in the matches last night, one team simply outplayed the other in this mode. It was the one glaring reason why a delay WAS put in.....to make sure we didn't get complaints that HQ points were just "served up" to just one clan.
-
In the FIRST place, sure. After that, it's all about how the clans wish to utilize their various members for offense and defense. My opinion only.
-
I don't agree with you there. I truly believe it is in how a clan approaches the challenge of an HQ map, who they put where and how many they attribute to a task. I think every mode offers its challenges, and I believe each challenge IS able to be overcome....depending on how that clan approaches it. I could see your argument if there was NO delay inbetween HQs, which is the standard in public HQ rooms, and THAT'S where you're sure to hear the complaining of "the HQs were all spawning around those guys!" But with a 30 second delay, it's anyone's game. And as much as you're fighting along the way.....you're fighting the other team trying to get there as well. It's pretty even with the delay.
-
Yes, I hope that there is an equally exciting night to the kickoff of Black IV as there was to the UF Crucible last night. Good luck to all the clans as you depart on your 4-week tour looking for the good seed in the playoffs! No go kill each other like good little boys and girls.

I have been a fan of newegg for a very long time. That, along with http://www.slickdeals.net and sometimes woot, will satisfy most of my bargain-hunting needs.
-
It was the reason we put in a 30 second delay through all HQ matches...and tested it. There is NO advantage to either side. Both sides have to fight for the point before it even becomes AVAILABLE to be taken over. Hopefully your match last night made sure the 30 sec delay was enabled. And perhaps.....there's always the chance that the other team was better prepared or, on that map or that mode or that night or that side.....outplayed you.

Ooohhhhh, THAT'S gonna get you an easter egg hidden on your site defacing the impatient name of "Hannibal" now. LOL ;D

Not sure if Disciple and the other NIGHTSTALKERS noticed, but their spoof ad for the "Nightstalkers Night-Stalking Stalking Service" is not up as its own graphic. With the launching of two tourneys, you can guess that Sniper and I were busy in the creative process of everything, and the graphics for the spoof ads on the UF podcast were starting to lag behind. Here's the link, Nightstalkers: http://www.urgentfury.com/podcast/spoof_ads/cards/Nightstalkers.html And here's to hoping we catch up on a few more real soon! - TOW

Well, if it's one thing we do well here at UF, it's keepin' ya guessin'.

Sweet as candy? ;D

Hopefully the sentiment will be shared by all. I hope all your wars go smoothly tonight. Play it up right, people! And good luck!

Pretty Amazed at suddenly being CUT FROM CRUCIBLE
TOW-19 replied to MoonDevil's topic in Playstation
My advice to you, Moon, would be to stick around the Community here. You missed the boat on this one, but as we said, there is another Crucible scheduled in about 5 weeks. Take this time to OBSERVE how things are done around here, and the respect that goes in and out of this tourney. You may learn much in this time and perhaps a second stab at the next Crucible may be in your future, and you (or whoever your clan's Rep will be) will be better prepared to handle the rigors (AND PAYOFF) of your first UF tourney. - TOW -
Pretty Amazed at suddenly being CUT FROM CRUCIBLE
TOW-19 replied to MoonDevil's topic in Playstation
Moondevil, I'm just going to ask you nicely, at this time, to stop posting like a maniac. There have been NUMEROUS posts about accepting invites in time, and posting rosters in time. You may claim unfairness at this time at being cut.  What WE consider unfair is the holding up of a tournament for those who simply cannot follow instructions on time.  That is why, at the TIME YOU ACCEPTED YOUR INVITE, that your clan designate the most RESPONSIBLE person from your clan to be a Clan Rep. We do not assume to tell you how to run your clan, so please don't put yourself in a position to think you can tell us how to run this tourney.  We post things WELL in advance for ALL to see, and you simply missed the boat.  We didn't inform people mere hours before rosters were due.  You overlooked the notices by DAYS, my friend. And as for your ignorant remarks about "not knowing WHERE this Clan Rep section was, I'd like to kindly remind you that you were IN it, posting away as the days ticked down.  Doing a search on your account here, I found the following posts were made by you IN that section.....but correct me if I am wrong: _____________________________________________________________________________________ THE UF CLAN REP SECURITY COUNCIL / CLAN REP SECTION FOR THE UF: CRUCIBLE / Re: CLAN REP CONTACT INFO  on: January 15, 2008, 10:36:15 AM  PSN:  MoonDevil Email: moon69eclipse@yahoo.com YIM:  Moon69eclipse   5  THE UF CLAN REP SECURITY COUNCIL / CLAN REP SECTION FOR THE UF: CRUCIBLE / Re: Default Grenade...  on: January 15, 2008, 10:28:20 AM  "The best option obviously is not use the R2 button, but throwing it off the map...  this would ensure no unintentional use.  In the heat of battle, not pressing R2 and such though I am sure can be done.. may just increase the risk of 'accidents'. Getting rid of it altogether in the beginning, and after respawns is the optimal way to deal with it.  Just have to be careful that when respawning you wait for the moment to do so and all is clear. But have instructed my clan on this matter, so there will be no usage of the nades, martyrdom (which we never use), and the default R2 nade.  Will also pass on some of the suggestions posted here prior..most likely being the Tossing the  R2 nade off the map, to ensure its not unintentionally used." ______________________________________________________________________________ Jar your memory a little bit? So please.  We gave you ever opportunity in the large timespan we afforded EVERYONE to get YOUR job done. We provide the tourney.  It is up to YOU to provide YOUR clan with the opportunity to play.  You messed it up. The fault is yours, so please don't feel comfortable saying it's ours. What you COULD have done is simply accept responsibility for it, and you know what, in four weeks we'd run another tourney and you could have learned from your past mistakes and possibly do a better job at making sure your clan is in it.  From your behavior here on this thread, we can see that you are CLEARLY not Clan Rep material, and we can only hope your clan, as a whole, would handle a situation such as this better than you, yourself, have done on your own. We're sorry that you won't be able to enjoy the Crucible.  We make these tourneys for clans' ENJOYMENT.  But one thing that we don't appreciate here is someone casting shadow on the GOOD we try to do here when that person was the one that simply dropped the ball on themselves. -
Yeah, Macoo (War-Dog on PS3) will be their new clan rep.

I hope that kid willingly dressed like that. Otherwise, he has some really cruel parents.

Tell him to keep a close eye on his rear view mirror for the next week.

Oh look! Another Streetsweeper poll! LOL "Ya need a poll to get your girl pregnant!" LOL -
Commander Freaky Fury is back on the podcast today with a brand new episode! Check it out at http://www.urgentfury.com/podcast/

Packers, no question. And I do believe the Pack will give the Pats the toughest game they've faced all season. And this is coming from a Packer-hatin' Bears fan who's actually hoping Favre takes it all the way.

Please note that in the Crucible Rule Set 5-C and Black Rule Set 5-C which stated: "C: During the course of The UF: Crucible, clans may add or subtract players from their listed active roster during the FIRST DAY OF EVERY MONTH, from midnight to midnight. This is done to help keep the list of eligible players manageable for the creators of this tourney." ...has been eliminated from both Rule Sets. As both tourneys are only 4 weeks, there will be no roster changes as we typically see every first of the month for TACMAP tourneys. Thank you and please forward this to all of your clansmen. - TOW

Due to clans not posting up their Clan Rosters on time or simply clans not showing up to accept their invites, we will be rolling along with The UF Crucible with 24 clans only. The Divisions will be re-distributed and your UF Staff will be by shortly to announce those changes to you. We have deadlines and rules, and both will always be followed in order for a smooth running tourney. Everyone who comes to UF expects that, and we will always deliver. If your clan signed up for Crucible and your invitation was accepted, but your Clan Rep FAILED to get your clan's roster in on time, I'm sorry, but your clan will NOT be participating in this tour or the UF Crucible. There will be another tour of the Crucible in 4 weeks. To all those clans who ARE participating in these next four weeks here in UF, I wish you all the best of luck and, most importantly, have a GREAT time in the UF Crucible! - TOW

I was worried about the account stuff as well, Sid.....but I simply set up my network on the new system, typed in my login info (not my online game name, but the ACCOUNT name that is all the way on the LEFT of the network options) and it retrieved everything right away just fine.
