I just received an email from Ubisoft notifying me of a debut trailer for an upcoming game "Heroes Over Europe." Wow does it look AWESOME. It is a flight simulation experience set in WWII. Ubisoft, the developer/publisher of Tom Clancy's Hawx, is publishing this title as well. Hawx was probably the funnest flight simulation game I've ever played, as well as possessing an awesome single player story line and great replay value online/offline. Heroes Over Europe looks like it will be essentially a WWII version of Hawx, which really intrigues my interest. The specs in Hawx were so realistic it was incredible and judging by the debut trailer this looks to match that success. I had not even heard of this game, but it is releasing on September 8th on PS3, 360, and PC. If I have the extra dough I think I'm going to trot down to the store and pick up a copy based off what I saw and Ubisoft's track record. I wonder if I can do this? I bought my current PS3 from Bestbuy in December after my old one broke. Opting not to wait 3 weeks to get it fixed by Sony since we were in the middle of two tournaments I bought this one as a rental essentially. When I got my broken PS3 back from Sony (it was actually a brand new system), Best Buy would not allow me to return the PS3 I had bought just a few weeks prior because it had been opened. I was forced to keep that one and sold the new/refurb PS3 that Sony sent me back on Ebay for a total loss of $50. I've been told that Best Buy has since changed their return policy on PS3's and as such I wonder if I'm eligible? I'd upgrade to a Slim if I get money back and more HD space. The only thing that sucks is backing up all my save game files to flash drives and then having to re-install all the patches for various games. Gamestop has a $20 trade in value addition on hardware (ala 360, PS3, and Wii), so if I can't do the swap at Best Buy then I'll have to see if there's a difference I'll have to pay at GS. I could use some more HD space and a slimmer PS3. This big lug is horrible to travel with. Plus I like real buttons.

It should be much better over the next few days as the lag subsides, it hasn't been bad though. I am thoroughly enjoying sniping more often again. People actually dying is a plus, but I wish with the High Scope they would have given solid crosshairs instead of the 12X crosshairs. The grenade arch is more accurate, but as a result grenades are not traveling as far. I've seen a ton of Kyle Orton throws, that being underthrown nades in this case, resulting in Mass TK's. The DE is WILD trying to aim lol, I'll stick with my usual pistols. The new wheel and subsequent quick swap is SWEET, it feels like a real Socom game now. I really love the enhanced sound on footsteps. I missed that feature a lot in this Socom, particularly when getting snuck up on sniping or knifed in the back. One very underrated feature that doesn't apply here, rather in public rooms, is the kill cam stopping after 5 seconds. You don't have to swap your weapons to stop someone's kill cam from following you after you kill them and it hampers people who cheat using skype/text chat/other forms of outside talking.

HighTimes you are correct. Mics in the lobby were not implemented until Socom 2. In Socom 1 everyone would spam the message box on the bottom until people greened up lol.

Well all my settings were reset for some reason, now I'm trying to get my look speed to where I want it. The movement when running is more prolonged from what I've seen. Also starting a room takes forever, you sit there greened up for about a minute before it finally starts. The ratings are also jacked up. I played 1 game and my rating is a 54 and everyone in the room's has gone up too.

Tough call for me between Clerks, Dogma, and Mallrats. It's like comparing 3 perfect pairs of boobs lol, I went with where it all began though, Clerks. Btw the Clerks Cartoon from back in the day is awesome, if you've never seen it go DL it or buy it. Definitely worth the watch.

I went and saw it Sunday night. I absolutely loved EVERY single aspect about it. I really want to see it again, it was that good. Also, without giving away anything, Adam Sandler was originally cast to play Eli Roth's part in the film. He gave up his role due to his spot in the film Funny People and QT inserted his longtime friend Roth into the role. I think Roth did an excellent job, but tell me that Sandler wouldn't have been great?! One last thing, who else LOVED the Teddy Ballgame reference? -
Sniper may still have the files, but they won't be on this forum as Chili said. During the interim between UF2 and UF3 these forums were created, while the old ones were completely deleted.

Haha, Nino still cringes when I talk about Harvester. I don't have any real sniper stories to share on Confrontation. It's a shame my game has become so one dimensional (I run and gun probably 80-20 over sniping on this game). I was always probably 60-40 sniper to gunner in every Socom prior to Confrontation, but did both very well I'd say lol. This Socom I get so angry shooting people 1,2,3 and even 4 times (heavy armor) with a bolt action rifle and they don't die. It's funny that I stopped sniping essentially when I stopped playing under the smokeosama title. It makes me lay down my sniper rifle and I truly love to snipe. I believe in Socom 3 I was number 7 on the leaderboard in Sniper Kills, just to give you an idea of how much I did it. I hope that they really did fix sniping with 1.5 and make people die like they should. If that's the case it will be like the days of old.

I never got kicked off last week, but apparently all MAG testers were not disconnected during last week's down time (from what I read and experienced last week anyway). This works for me as I won't be home when this goes down lol, but I'll keep my PS3 online anyway.

Touching on a few of the above posts. Challenges are working fine for me, it seems like most get overturned. My gripe with the challenges (and I know they are 100% called accurately on Madden) is that if you're going to show an inconclusive view to the gamers, then how can the play be reversed. Show the angle that reveals WHY the call was reversed, not some awful view impeded by 5 different players. Also the interceptions are WAY down. They toned down the defensive players catching abilities a lot it seems. It is frustrating, but I often take control of my DB's on deep balls. I'm more confident in user picking the ball than letting the CPU attempt to make a play on the ball. Btw I have no problem kicking accurately on Madden, as Tiger Woods will adequately prepare you to be straight as an arrow.

I literally just laughed out loud at 5 AM LOL.. Anyways, I'm always the first one in the lobby to green up because I essentially use the same weapons every map (that will change with sniping finally being fixed in 1.5). In the event I leave to take a dump while playing and I'm in the lobby not greened up, someone like [RVN] z-Prime-z or [cBF] Presidential will always say "Backlash GREEN UP" and I can do so without having to leave the confines of my toilet. I do this by always bringing the headset and controller with. I even talk strat sometimes while taking a dump in the dead room. And the guys at the RVN meet wanted to come to my pad to play some MAG using my controllers, lol. ;D

Same here, initialization failure. Servers are usually back up by 6 AM CST. I'm going to watch a movie and set the socom.com forums to auto-refresh every 5 minutes. Once the servers are up 343 kids will post a new thread saying it's up and 239 will post a new thread complaining about something pertaining to 1.5 patch.
