Oh man! a Mile High copy of AMF 15! dude you could have damn near retired for what you could get for it today.. I have a copy of Amazing Spider Man #1 I bought for 1k Eight years ago, and three copies of DD#1, I paid another 2 hundo each for at the same time.. the ASM's condition puts it at around 10k today and the DD's could fetch over a 1k each. There isn't any investment in wall street that even comes close to this sort of return.. AMF 15's current book value (CGC graded) Gem Mint $720,000 Mint $576,000 Near Mint + $288,000 Near Mint $144,000 Very Fine $82,240 Fine $46,000 Good $28,000

I know a few of us here are Comic Geeks.. Comic Book Fans etc.. There is some huge news.. in the Comic Book world. The Library of Congress recently aquired all the original art pages to Amazing Fantasy number 15. If you don’t know what AMF #15 is.. it is the origin and first introduction of the character Spider Man by Stan Lee. With Comic books a copy of AMF 15 is good condition could easily bring thousands of dollars. However with Original Art pages, the value is far higher since where they could be several hundred copies of the book still in existence there can only be one set of the Orig. art pages. Typically the splash page (first page) or the cover art is the highest value. Rarely do you find all the pages in a set since they are sold individually to collectors. To have all the Orginal art pages including the cover art in one set increases the value dramatically, and when it happens to be a HIGHLY sought book such as Detective Comics #27 (first batman) or another key issue its value sky rockets.. In other words the Library of Congress was given, (by an private unnamed donator) the entire set of Orig. Art for the first Spider Man. Market value of something like this is out of the ball park and well into the hundred million area. Amazing!!! http://www.loc.gov/blog/?p=290

I've figured it out.. i no longer buy any games for online play until a week or two has past... I haven't seen a game yet that worked right off the bat when it was released... but they all seem to get it fixed in a week or two.. however with GTA I'm picking it up this weekend.. not for online.. for the strip club. I don't think I'll play much of anything else on it.. but you can find me in the VIP section at the Strip club having a Crown royal.

A history lesson in High res… It all started with the line doubler… or Lie Dubya “line doubler is to take an interlaced video source which consists of a two-field frame and create a progressive scan (single non-interlaced frame) output. This produces a brighter, smoother high resolution picture. The additional lines provide greater light output and makes for an image that is smoother and more film like.†From Wiki They went high tech when some engineer came up with video scaling.. “A video scaler is an algorithmic processing device for converting video signals between one arbitrary resolution/aspect-ratio and another resolution/aspect-ratio. In their most common application they are "up scaling" or "up converting", This does not necessarily mean that the picture becomes clearer/more detailed - as scalars in their simplest form only increase the sample points for the original signal resulting in more data points for the original given information. ….Confusion is caused within the general public, due to how little is understood about video scalers. Manufacturers of digital displays don’t tell customers that there is a simple video scaler built into their display which accepts a video signal and converts it to what the display is expecting.†From Wiki and just so you know what native resolution is.. “The “native resolution†of a display, is how many physical pixels make up each row and column of the visible area on the display’s output surface. Since not every video signal in use in the world is exactly the same resolution (and neither are all of the displays), some form of resolution change (video scaling) is required†From Wiki Why should any of you care? Because what we are talking about here is MONEY!! As usual spending more doesn’t necessarily get you more… I’m looking at a way to LINE Double a UPscaled 1080p native resolution.. I’m thinking I could get a 4360p res. out of it… yeah that’s the ticket..

in an attempt to help.. I looked up possible problems associated with BBC code and symbols... it seem the symbol \ particularly is the code normally corresponding to backslash (and used by Windows™ as a directory delimiter) displays as the fraction ½: other issues include the [brackets] closing a \ or / slash both of which pertain to code such tags used by forums. perhaps Tow's suggestion is best and the use of slashes should be avoided here with ID"s.. although we will all know that your tag is what it is.. and this should not be any cause for anyone claiming incorrect exact roster names..
-
No no you're thinking either Tow or Sniper with their GOD LIKE Forum powers... I'm just giving you what I got when I tried sending a pm... but don't worry it has happened before with other members.. I'm sure its' an easy fix.. but not something a lowly xbox division forum admin can handle..

Unable to find member '[h/] d_dubya'. try changing your name and re inputing the tag... it seems to be missing the first \ before the h.

Wait a sec!! hold on... you mean to tell me this game has a strip club!!!?? complete with pole dancers and you can get a lap dance in the back room with 360 degree camera angles... ?? NO WAY!! can someone verify this.. cause if I can go to a strip club and NOT spend a thousand dollars... I"m there!!! can someone verify this..!? No wonder there were lines at the stores.. it all makes sense now!!!

Yes i use native for all games.. with the exception of COD4, which I prefer to upscale to 1080p.. it just looks better on my set.. but for other games such as RBV2 it doesn't. Typically use 720p as your native res.. for games. that's what the are encoded at and your Ps3 won't work as hard displaying having to upscale it. Also, yeah the guy at "Least Cry" lied... you can save big bucks if you won't be using your High def TV for a PC hook up nor do you have a blu ray player and plan on buying blu ray disk... if you don't than there is NO REASON whatsoever to purchase the MORE HIGHER COST 1080p native tv's since 720p is just fine and a hell of lot less expensive.

Fricking rookies.... LOL! High-def broadcasts are done in either 1080i or 720p, and there's r no chance they'll jump to 1080p any time soon because of bandwidth issues. Even the so called high-def games on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 are usually 720p native though they can be upscaled to 1080i or 1080p in the user settings of those consoles. Really, the only commercially available way to get true 1080p output--aside from hooking your PC to your HDTV--is to get Blu-ray. All Blu-ray players and some high-end HD DVD models support 1080p output, and--more importantly--the are natively encoded at 1080p. . So yes the game is native 720p (actually 768p) but that doesn’t roll off the tongue as well.. running P vs I is more important since progressive scan will convey all the lines of resolution in a single pass.. much more efficient. As far as if you choose to upscale it or not.. that’s totally up to your personal view of things… Lastly Contrast up 100%, Back light up 100% Brightness Roughly 75% but it depends if the game itself as a brightness setting.. typically you want to have brightness as low as possible and then bring it up to where you like it. Color and tint should remain defaulted at 50% Sharpness as well.. Color temp.. usually I use Cool, but warm works well for some games… Dynamic contrast.. if you turn it on than you may have to bring the brightness up a bit.. Full white and full RBG.. yes turn them both on if your TV is capable. That should do it…

I'd call him a pinhead.. but he would take it as a compliment.

They tried this in France, but the students kept picking up the white towels and waving them over their head… They tried this in China, if you stepped on the flag a tank ran you over. They tried this in Iraq but they couldn’t find any flags to use. They did this in America and disgraced every soldier, veteran and patriot in the country. “the flags were removed 10 hours into the experiment after a fire marshal asked Crane to move them to the side of the hallway†I’d like to see the guy that said “it’s just a piece of cloth†tell that to a grieving widow and her children when they hand her the flag that was just draped over her husband’s coffin. “that’s why we are allowing you to stay†That and we can’t seem to find a police officer willing to remove you.. Seems our local police and fire department are patriotic.. who knew? “it’s just a piece of cloth…†Any flag is just that: a piece of cloth. It is also more than that. To any patriot, to any member of the military or military family, to any public servant, to any immigrant who has vested his loyalty, to any person who has been nurtured, who has prospered in the land represented by that cloth, it means much more than thread woven into fabric. The sum is greater than its parts. Don't forget that this is also true for our country. The United States is much greater than the sum of its parts. The threads of allegiance to the flag, proper posture during the national anthem, and public support for military personnel are all important threads woven into the fabric of American society, but none of them individually is as important as American society itself. I will fight for my country, I will die for my friends.

GTA 1V just released.. COD4 has new maps, I haven't made it to elite yet on RBV2, I still play GRAW every now and then, I never did finish Army of Two, I haven't even opened Stranglehold and I bought it over a month ago, Warhawk has new maps, but I doubt I'll download them, RFOM has new maps.. but eh! I played FEAR for less than a week and never put it back in the Play Station, Traded DMC4 ps3 version in for an Xbox version and than gave it to the boy, add a bunch more that never get any playing time.), not counting a number of Xbox 360 titles as well as countless PS2 titles and other Xbox (non 360) titles.. and somewhere in some box is a another schit load of Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and PSone titles with all the still working consoles packed away as well..... All of that and I won't even mention the PC games.. yet where was I from about 7pm yesterday till four in the morning.... SOCOM!!! took a while to find the disk, took another 15 minutes to make the new "hard drive partition" took a half an hour to locate my password list filed away in the file cabinets, then after resetting all my video configurations, spending a half an hour trying to remember which button does what, and almost a full hour downloading all three map packs to my spanking new "hard drive partition" and I was BACK!! All because a friend of mine had finally picked up a copy of Socom CA due to my non stop "Whddaya mean you've never played Socom WTF!!" pressuring.. That may be why I got online after a six month break, but that's not why I didn't get off line till nine hours later... I LOVE THIS DAYAM GAME!!! sure it's laggy at times and yeah firefights often wind up with who can hop and sidestep back in forth the most.. but the lobby, the ease of finding your friends, the multitude of ways you set up a game and can password it if you want to, even the co-op has it's strong points. The graphics leave a lot to be desired sure,, it's only 420p at best, But it reminded me why Socom held my interest for so long.. it's got it all, go prone, lean, run, crouch, camp, run and gun, snipe, spray and prey, plant explosives, run someone over in a truck, drive a boat, sink a boat, drive a tank, plant a anti-tank mine, hop on a 50 cal mounted on a jeep, stealth your way to high ground vantage point and snipe with a silencer, kick in the door and run in with a shotgun. Respawn, no respawn, Ranked or open, night or day, vehicles or not, number of players, private or public, play with your clan, play against your clan, two man four man or sixteen and even one vs one... SOCOM has it all!! and it's all up to you how you want to play it. I love this game.. So yeah GTA hit the market and it does look cool... but while most were enjoying their first night of yet another new title.. I found an old friend named Boomer. When I finally turned off the Ps3 and went to sleep.. I said a little prayer to the Socom gods.. "Oh great So, bless thy COM. Stay true Yo, have no qualm. Keep the best, and give us more. Don't change the game we all yearn for. Do this and your fans stay true. Don't mess it up and call it new. I've paid the price it wasn't free Because it's not a game it's war for me. Amen

With Toshiba... for a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) than yes by all means.. for a Digital Light Projector.. not so much.. Although DLP rear projection systems will give you a good size for the money.. for me anything past 50" is just too big to put in a box. Whenever a customer ask about a larger than 50" (although 55 or 57 isn't out of the ballpark so it's more like above 60") I steer them the route of Projector and screen. Why go 60" rear projection when you go 120" front projection for *twice the price? LMAO! ;D

More info for you vid heads out there… from the Goat.. (I won't brag on myself and say I'm an expert or anything… but people do pay me to get my opinions on AV gear, for my UF member amigos my opinions are free- LOL even if it means you have to suffer through a goat post.. ) these days for the PC I'm running a Sony KDL-S3000 LCD 26" (nice unit but I'll stick to my notion that Sony charges more than others for what you get) For the PS and Xbox I'm testing a Tosh 47" LCD (47LX196) I have to say with Plasma's Toshiba's are not the way to go.. probably why they no longer make them.. but for LCDs Toshiba is rocking!! I had a REGZA 42" for a while and I thought it was very good.. but the cinema series (more money - Yes.. but even better quality) from Toshiba is my top pick for 2008's first two quarters. Panasonic continues as a top pick for Plasma. Others that came and went include a Sharp Aquos.. (not impressed) a Phillips 47" LCD 1920X1080P (Totally impressed! in fact "HOLY High Def batman!!" ) but the price tag was off the chart. and lastly for the projection to the Targa glass beaded 120" diag screen, I ran a LG HS101 (okay it's price tag of about a grand gives it a lot to consider since for that price it's a heck of a deal.. but it doesn't stack up against brighter (more expensive) units. It's gone and another NEC is next. The New NEC-NP1000 (don't have it yet) but it's rated at 3500 Lumans!! man that's bright!! It's also High res 1080i, 1080p, and has DVI, PC and HDMI inputs. Can't wait to give it a try. Also the Tosh 47†LCD is a keeper..

Sure Omni,, no probl... hold on a second.!! What happened to that 50" Panny Plasma.. you know, not that low grade model they sell at "Best Bye" I'm talking the 70-0UX, the model "Surekit Shitty" doesn't want you to know about? Come on now... Did I steer you wrong or what? p.s. that pic above is old.. the 48" Tosh plas.. is gone, the Audvox 37" LCD as well and even the NEC 350Le projector have all been replaced.. As for where do they go? LOL, well they go back to the vendor... in exchange for the next one.. or else I sell it to a customer at a reduced rate (but typically my customers prefer brand new stuff) bunch of damn "Rich bastards.". Selling it also means I have to re-negotiate with my vendors for product evaluations (pain in the arse!) " and every now and than.. when a unit blows me away.. I keep it!

LOL. The bridge of the enterprise was never as High Tech as "Da Goat room" p.s. Monitors come and go almost on a monthly basis.. it's part of what I do for a living.
