  1. Yup and I can see how you might hear some similarities, but it's not a sample from that song. http://www.shadowops.org/beats/uf_4horse.mp3 10-4. I've never heard this track. Pretty badass. BTW, the sample sounds like a piece called Tubular Bells. Which all you hardcore horror fans will recognize as the theme from The Exorcist. Although, it sounds like he may have changed the tempo a bit. Very cool. ~V~
  2. Are you sure, he mixed a lot of his own beats into this and from what I understood the only sample in the song is the early piano, 2-3 notes I thought from Alice Cooper. ??? Maybe if you could direct me to the trailer in question...I could be sure. But, if you're talking about what is basically the "intro" video on the UF:Horsemen website...I am 100% certain about the music. ~V~
  3. The music used for the UF:Horsemen trailer is one of the most notable pieces of music in existence. It has been used in thousands of motion pictures & commercials. It's the first movement of the cantata Carmina Burana (Carl Orff 1935-36) called O Fortuna. Hope that helps. ~V~
  4. Everybody loves cookies! Including the men & women of our nation's armed forces serving overseas. You all know that Urgent Fury is an avid supporter of the United States Military, as many of our community members are active duty personnel or veterans, or know someone who is. And while we may not be able to bring them home, maybe we can send a little taste of home to them. As our small way of saying thanks for everything they do, we are collecting funds for a donation to the Girl Scouts of America to send Girl Scout Cookies to the troops abroad. This is your chance to give back to the troops by being part of Urgent Fury's OPERATION: Taste Of Home. Your donation will be $3.50 per box of Girl Scout Cookies, and the Girl Scouts will cover the costs of shipping to the troops abroad. We have several options to choose from. Ranging from one (1) box of cookies to five (5). As well as an open donation option (we only ask that the minimum donation is $10.00 for open donations). To volunteer for duty....just follow the link below... http://www.urgentfury.com/gsctdonate.php God Bless! Keep your feet wet...and your powder dry!!! Hooyah!!! ~V~
  5. Ahhhh...the episode numbering controversy continues! It's Ep. # 59 if you're asking me. It's Ep. #58 if you're asking Shane. And since Shane sends the check..... Enjoy Episode 58!!!!
  6. Really? Good to know. I'll see if I can find an alternative for our friends outside the US. Try one of the links listed here! Also, here's an update on the band!
  7. This week's Feature Presentation..... Heavy Metal In Baghdad I came across this documentary by Eddy Moretti and Suroosh Alvia a few nights ago. In it, they travel to Baghdad, to meet and interview the only heavy metal band in Iraq....Acrassicauda. Being a Metal Head from wayyy back, I loved it. But, the music is an afterthought. The real story here is, as one Hulu reviewer put it, "living proof that the human spirit is so much stronger than any kind of destruction man can come up with". Now...turn down the lights....and enjoy the show. ~V~
  8. What would happen if Johnny had it to do all over again? Let's watch.... No More Kings "Sweep the Leg"
  9. Thanks to everybody in UF for all the continued support. It's always great to get our clans involved in Urgent Frequency! Especially, the 2009 Season Champions. CMDR's note: Special thanks again to [LPK] mauxpack & [ U ] mikejaxon, I couldn't have done this ep. without them. Hooyah boys! My/our goal, is to make this thing, as interactive as possible. I mean, it is your podcast. In 2010, please make every effort to become as involved with the podcast as you'd like. It would be so helpful if we could do stuff that you actually care about, and want to hear. Your ideas & suggestions would make it a podcast for the people...BY the people. We do plan on adding a few new features here & there, and we've even got a couple of huge surprises (as usual) planned as well. Now, enjoy those holiday passes. We've got a big year planned! Get the deck squared away....and you're all dismissed. Hooyah! & Merry Christmas! ~V~ commanderfury@urgentfury.com
  10. Welcome to the PC age ladies & gents. It's the same exact type of thing that happens to cops all the time. And Batman. Like wise old Alfred Pennyworth said... "Some men just want to watch the world burn." There's no rhyme or reason, no genuine motive. Truth is, some people just want to watch it all burn. So how do you police that? How do you deter that? Especially if you have to "be careful of what you do and say" along the way. Like cops & firefighters, they asked these SeALs to go out and do the dirty work. To do the heavy lifting. But, please...for the love of Pete....don't rough anybody up. Are you kidding me? I hate all politicians. The lies, the obscene abuse of power, etc. And your comparison to the corrupt Spartan senate is dead on. It's the very reason the Roman Empire finally imploded. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. If a government continually increases their slice of the pie, it can only mean the people's slice of the pie will naturally continue to shrink. The only way things will change in this country, is for a few good men & women to stand up, and say NO MORE! But, then again....that might hurt someone's feelings. ~V~
  11. Yeah, I dropped the ball BIG TIME Prane! lol So Solly!
  12. IDK if you already got one DeadEyes...but I was inspired. Use it if you like it. If not, no hard feelings. ~V~
  13. See? I had soooooo many jokes when I first came in here...then I thought it would be in poor taste. Leave it to Goat to go in for the kill.
  14. I just think the kid needs to stop beating around the bush. I mean, I'd really like to know how he really feels about MW2.
  15. U.Freq. 54's MW2 Launch "on location" pics... Here she is....the giant TV!!!! These fine folks won a "first play" contest, and were among the first in the nation to play MW2. There were easily 400-500 gamers at the event. Many of whom stood in line for hours. The crowd was so big, I had to take 2 shots of the line, using the paparazzi stretch (camera held high above my head). Pic 1 Pic 2 This was one of 2, super sweet MW2 T-Shirts the GS staff was wearing (as modeled by my buddy, and GS Store Manager Brandon H). The other shirt, which I never had a chance to get a shot of, actually looked like an Army Ranger's BDUni, complete with patches. SuWeeeeet!!! And the moment everybody was waiting for....12 Midnight!!! The little kid in the foreground was too young to purchase the game (he didn't know that GS would be carding people...it IS Rated M, and GS is very serious about some ESRB Ratings), so he had to get his mom out of bed, to drive 18 miles to GS, to buy the game for him. No word when the grounding will be over, so he can actually play the game. All in all, it was a pretty groovy experience. They treated me like a freaking rock star. And I can honestly say, I've never seen that many people get that excited about a video game. And I was especially glad I could share some of it with UF. KYFW...AYPD!!! Hooyah!!! ~V~
