  1. Well, last year’s list of all upcoming PS4 games was such a success that we’ve decided to do you one better by creating a mammoth list of all known PlayStation games planned for release in 2015 in North America. The list is a real monster, comprised of games across PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. The usual caveats apply. Development schedules sometimes shift, so this list can (and will) change as the months go by. But we’re planning to keep this updated all year long to reflect any changes, so feel free to bookmark it for future reference. Did we miss something? Drop us a comment below and we’ll investigate! No Man’s Sky A celebration of science fiction and the vast expanses within. No Man’s Sky will empower players to traverse a limitless universe and dare the unknown, forging their own stories among the stars. Axiom Verge Harness the power of old-school game glitches in Axiom Verge, a metroidvania-inspired passion project created and developed completely by one man(!) Hotline Miami 2 The hyperviolent Hotline Miami left us asking for more, more, more, and developers Dennaton have provided in kind. Salt & Sanctuary Invoking some serious “Souls†vibes on a 2D plane, Salt & Sanctuary looks like an early contender for “Can’t Put it Down Game of the Year†The Forest As the lone survivor of a passenger jet crash, battle to stay alive against a society of cannibalistic mutants… and boy are they hungry! Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel on PS4! What more do we need to say? How about all DLC ever released for both games? Yeah, that too. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Zenimax and Bethesda bring the revered RPG series to PS4 in The Elder Scrolls Online, encouraging players to venture into a rich fantasy world, rife with friends and foes alike. Mortal Kombat X Mortal Kombat X combines dynamic cinematic presentation and an expanded combat system to create the most brutal kombat ever. Bonus: some of the most gruesome Fatalities in MK history Bloodborne A collaboration between FromSoftware and Japan Studio, Bloodborne is host to a nightmarish, gothic world teeming with horrific beasts, and the weapons with which players will hunt them. MLB 15: The Show In MLB 15: The Show, players will earn licensed equipment from baseball’s most recognizable brands, experience the series’ most lifelike graphics yet, and more. Batter up! The Order: 1886 Step into the boots of Sir Galahad himself in The Order: 1886, a graphical stunner that explores an alternate Neo-Victorian London and features fantastical weapons based on arcane technology. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Naughty Dog is not only pushing PS4 to new graphical heights in A Thief’s End, they’re finding new ways to expand Drake’s combat repertoire too. Dat grappling hook! Until Dawn Experience the psychological thriller that pushes the boundaries of the horror genre. Be careful – every choice has its consequence. Yakuza 5 Yakuza 5 pulls players back into the seductive and dangerous Japanese underworld where honor, vengeance, and redemption paint the streets of Japan red with blood. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Explore a massive, morally indifferent world as Geralt of Rivia, a charming and equally dangerous warrior. Geralt has endured the rise and fall of kingdoms, lost love, and betrayal, but his quest is far from over. 2. First let’s get the big news out of the way: Pillar is coming to PS4 on February 17th for $7.99, and PS Plus members will get a 10% discount for the first week after launch! If this is your first time hearing about the game, it’s a collection of minigames, where each game represents a different type of personality we find in people. This is the third entry in a series of posts I’ve made about the game, so if you’re interested I’d recommend checking out the other ones. I cover the inspirations for the game here, and reveal the first gameplay trailer plus talk about the soundtrack here! I’d like to drop the professionalism cloak for a second and say a few things. The first is that I hope most people find the price to be fair; I struggled with pegging one down. I started working on Pillar in August 2012, and it’s been my life ever since so it’s hard to put a price tag on that. It means the world to just have people play it, but I’m also trying to make a living so I want to charge something that will let me keep doing this full time. The game takes around five hours to 100% complete, and I feel each part of the game is unique; there isn’t any filler in Pillar. (Sick rhyme!) This isn’t an award speech, but I wouldn’t have made it to the finish line without others helping me. First, thanks to Nick Suttner from PlayStation for helping me bring the game to PS4; yes, it’s his job to help, but you can tell many at PlayStation are passionate about games and that’s what makes PS4 look attractive to devs. Thanks Tom Spilman and the MonoGame team for enabling me to bring Pillar over from a technical perspective. Thanks to the XNA community for helping me learn programming, I’m self-taught and from the middle of nowhere so I owe this to them. Thanks to my family and friends for testing the game, helping with sound effects and being there for me. Finally, thanks to everyone on the blog that left comments or emailed me… working alone for so long wears on you, so seeing people excited was the fuel I needed to make it through this final lap. Thanks for reading. I’ll see everyone on the 17th! View the full article
  3. Hey all, Ian Pickles from XDEV Studio Europe here and I’m pleased to announce that Resogun Defenders, the second expansion for Resogun, will be available in a little under a week from now on February 17th for $4.99 and is free of charge to all existing season pass owners. The Defenders expansion brings with it a huge amount of new content for the game and we’ve worked really hard to make this final expansion a fitting send off for Resogun. What’s more is that in order to prepare you for the arrival of Defenders, we are pleased to announce that our latest content update, Resogun Challengers will be made available free of charge to all players as of today! Resogun Defenders takes place during our last stand against the overwhelming Sentient forces. Pushed back to an unknown planet you will take the fight to the bad guys in two all new game modes. Protector and Commando. Protector Mode sees you taking to the skies to defend one of the last human colonies remaining. Utilize all new power-ups including Super Boost, Teleport, and automatic city defences; take down the enemy and deliver as many of the last humans to each city in order to extend your grip on the planet. Protector Mode features an all new planet flip mechanic and environmental hazards such as volcanic meteors to avoid while fighting off the never-ending enemy invasion. Commando mode lets you play as the Last Human who was left behind. Stranded on a distant planet with only a mini-gun to defend him he takes the fight directly to the Sentients in the ultimate arcade revenge mode. Jump, boost and equip your favorite bandana as you aim to defend your home from waves of enemies, volcanic meteors and more in this all new mode. What’s more is that Commando mode supports both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. Team up with a friend to fight the good fight or turn against each other to outsmart your opponent and destroy their house from under their nose. We’ve named the competitive mode Battle Mode and hope you have as much fun fighting it out with your friends as we have had here. Resogun Defenders also includes an all new Trophy set for you to achieve and leaderboards to climb to prove your worth as the best pilot out there. So as mentioned above we need to update the game to get it ready for the arrival of Defenders and that gives us the opportunity to add a bunch of new content for everyone free of charge while we do it! This brings us to Resogun Challengers, our all new content update launching today for all players. Resogun Challengers is the largest content update to date for the game and brings with it a new system of player levelling which is achieved by earning Challenge Points as a reward for completing new challenges and feats across all existing game modes. Challenges task you with playing a specific level or game mode with different rules or modifiers designed to provide a new challenge. Can you rescue 200 humans in a single level if every enemy drops one, or better yet can you complete survival mode using the Super Stardust Ship? Challenges change things up and give everyone a reason to revisit all Resogun game modes for a new experience. Performing well will award Challenge Points which will advance your player level higher unlocking rewards and bragging rights. Alongside the Challenges we have also included Feats. These are long goals that are tracked across all game modes and award Challenge Points for achieving huge milestone goals. Have you rescued a cumulative 1,000 humans or just dodged 13 wrecking balls in Demolition Mode? There’ll be a Feat and reward for that. Only a true Resogun Hero can ever hope to achieve all the Feats but we’re sure you’ll have fun trying. Human Gallery and Photo ModeThe Resogun Challengers update also contains an all new Human Gallery to organize and select your collected Human types, and the much requested Photo Mode which allows you to pause and capture stunning screenshots of all the voxel based action exploding on screen. We’re looking forward to seeing some of the shots captured by the players. To top it all off, the Challengers Update also contains a bunch of new Trophies for you to earn — designed around the challenges and feats these will test the skills of even the finest Resogun pilots out there. Finally I’m happy to announce that for those of you that have yet to play Resogun there has never been a better time. To celebrate the launch of Resogun Defenders we are offering 33% off the retail price of the full game for the next two weeks. Additionally, anyone who purchase the season pass will immediately gain access to our previous expansion, Heroes, and the additional humans available in the store. We look forward to launching Resogun Defenders and can’t wait to see you all climbing the leaderboards and beating the biggest challenges ever seen in Resogun. We’ll be back soon with more Human news and updates on the Original Soundtrack for season pass holders. View the full article
  4. Hello there, PlayStation people! Simon here, reporting from the epicentre of skate that is Roll7 HQ. 2014 was a mental year for the team here in New Cross, London — we couldn’t have imagined getting SO much love for our little skatey game, OlliOlli. OlliOlli2 might seem like it has hit Beta status quite quickly, but when you consider that we feature locked on the Vita original in August 2013 — it seems like we have been honing this bad boy for ages! We have now completed all user testing and locked about 95% of features while Sam, our Head of QA, does his evil magic and tries to break the game six ways from Sunday. So, whats new in OlliOlli2? Well — much like THPS2 we have added Manuals and Combos — a serious game changer allowing a player to chain together combos like some kind of skate ninja from the future. As combos increase, so do the score potentials — so we have added a section to the HUD which shows what a potential score WOULD be if the current combo was landed Perfect. We also have grind switches — a super satisfying maneuver allowing you to switch between 2 grind types (if you nail the grind perfect). On top of this we have also added epic tricks, with longer animation times — which require enough air-time to successfully nail… mmmm, Epic Tricks… Level-wise, things have been stepped up to the max with curved ground, ramps and rails — which adds a whole new flow to proceedings. Reminiscent of the Tiny Wings feel at points, with the compression and release out of ramps, hours will be lost to just jamming and chilling in the skatepark level — learning the ropes! Dre (our gameplay designer) has also added split routes that can only be accessed by nailing a perfect launch on a ramp. Not to mention secret routes, hidden from the beaten path, allowing you to collect the Roll7 devs! We ALSO have a totally new mode, Combo Rush — but more on that in a blog post later this month! We wanted to let people know a bit more about our neck of the woods, and the plan for the sequel — so we made this little video! Check it out… View the full article
  5. Hello, PlayStation.Blog friends! Today we’re revealing some details about three new features in MLB 15 The Show: Universal Rewards, Licensed Equipment, and our 30 Legends. Keep an eye on our new Twitch channel for even more in-depth coverage of our robust new feature set! In the last couple years, we’ve added something we call your Universal Profile, which tracks your playstyle tendencies and passively rewards you with XP and Stubs while you play. This year, in addition to XP and Stubs, you’ll earn new Items usable throughout different game modes. Road to the Show is a mode focused on one player’s path to the majors and beyond. As you play, you’ll find different qualities of licensed equipment that can enhance your player’s attributes. Once you find them, you’ll equip them to your player for an instant boost to his skill. Your player has slots for a Bat, Batting Gloves, Fielding Glove, Cleats, and echoing the traditions of our sport, a Ritual item. Franchise is a mode focused on managing baseball organizations on every level. Periodically, you’ll find Brand Sponsorship contracts. Once you have the contract in hand, you can choose at any time to partner your Franchise team with the Brand. Doing so will add some Brand flavor to your interface during game broadcasts. The Sponsorship also earns your team budget incentives based on how you performance in a certain statistic. Diamond Dynasty is a fantasy baseball card mode where you build a custom team and assemble players you find into a squad. Diamond Dynasty is DRASTICALLY changed this year so keep an eye out for a more focused blog about it. MLB Player Cards and Stadiums Cards will be rewarded as you play. While playing ANY mode, you’ll be passively building a fantasy squad of MLB pros. Collect an entire MLB team or get REALLY lucky with a pack, and you’ll unlock an iconic alumni player from one of 30 MLB teams. We’re very excited this year that we’ve partnered with nine iconic baseball brands to bring items from their product catalog directly into the game. We are lucky to have such amazing partners. Check out this list of awesomeness: Franklin® Louisville Slugger® Nike® Under Armour® Wilson® Rawlings® Sam Bat® Mizuno® Marucci® Before you bolt, make sure to check out the tail end of the video for the epic reveal of the 30 Legends cards included in MLB 15 The Show. 7. Warframe’s latest update arrives today, bringing a whole new set of weapons and game modes for Space Ninjas to sink their teeth into. With new social Relays to explore, Syndicates to discover, the return of an old nemesis, and an epic struggle in space against a towering foe, this update to our free sci-fi shooter looks to be one of the biggest yet. The villain Vey Hek has been threatening the Solar System with his fleet of Balor Fomorian vessels for as long as anyone can remember, but we always thought that was part of his charm — like an old man sitting on the front porch waving angry fists at Tenno whippersnappers that walk too fast. Kind of adorable, in his own way. Unfortunately, the time has come for Vey Hek to finally make his move. His Fomorian space fleet threatens to tip the balance of power in the Solar System, and he’s made it clear that this deployment isn’t just a strategic plot against the Lotus and her Tenno. It’s a personal attack. Tenno RelaysRelays are the newest addition to Warframe’s Tenno socialization systems. They are space stations that orbit various planets where players can interact with one another between missions. Accessing a specific Relay only requires a player first unlock the planet where the Relay is located. Once that’s complete the Relay is accessible at any time. While on a Relay, players can form squads, change loadouts, chat, or visit any of the Syndicate rooms to purchase Offerings. Players can also turn in Medallions found in Syndicate Missions for bonus Standing. The rooms have some amazing aesthetics, so be sure to give them all a visit! Relays are going to expand further with unique Clan rooms, special merchants, and potentially even special quests. There will be a stress-test period for Relays open to players that are migrated Founders, Mastery Rank 10+, and anyone who has purchased a Prime Access pack. Once stress testing is completed, Relays open to everyone! Operation: Eyes of BlightAs mentioned, in this update the enemy Vey Hek’s Balor Fomorian space fleet is upon us, and the sheer firepower contained within each ship means there’s very little that can contest their might. That does not mean they are without weakness. While larger vessels or space stations are threatened by Fomorian weaponry, smaller vehicles need only contend with the Fomorian’s anti-personnel defenses. Players need to use Archwings to fight through the depths of space and find a way inside the Balor Fomorian vessels to shut down their main reactors — all while avoiding overwhelming Grineer space forces. Gathering the resources required to penetrate Fomorian shields may take some time, but it’s best to work quickly. Once a Fomorian has begun its approach toward one of the new social Relay Stations the only way to save the Relay from explosive destruction is to bring down the Grineer ship before it reaches firing range. No pressure. This global event, titled “Eyes of Blight†begins shortly after Relay stress-testing has concluded, so enjoy the peace while you can, Tenno. Void TraderWhile the wheelin’ and dealin’ merchant, Darvo, is still setting up shop on the new social Relays, there is one merchant on the Relays that may be of some interest. Baro Ki’Teer, the Void Trader, only appears once every two weeks — but when he does it’s kind of a big deal. A collector of rare and valuable goods, Baro Ki’Teer is happy to give Tenno access to his inventory, provided they can pay with his preferred currency. Players can exchange Prime parts for Orokin Ducats at either Void Trader terminal located in any Relay. Ducats are a currency used only by Baro Ki’Teer, and can only be earned through trading in unused Prime gear. No one’s really certain what he does with all the spare Prime goods, but when unique Primed Mods, rare weapons, and armor customizations are available for purchase it’s hard to worry about the small details. New Archwing and Archwing WeaponsJust in time to help put an end to the Fomorian threat is a brand new spacefaring Archwing: the Itzal. Made for stealth and support operations, the Itzal has the unique ability to cloak all players within a close proximity, launch support drones, and even teleport a short distance. It can also create miniature black holes, which are as dangerous as they are fun. Joining the Itzal are two new weapons: the Fluctus energy Arch-gun and the Centaur sword-shield. Both weapons are perfect compliments to the Itzal’s fast-paced hit-and-run combat, but there are no rules against mixing and matching with other Archwing models! These additions add further playability to the recently added space combat gameplay attached to our previous Archwing update. New WeaponsCreating new and exciting ways to cause death in others is a staple of Tenno culture, and this update includes a few choice tools that are wonderful additions to any Arsenal. The Kohm Spark Gun is a unique plasma shotgun that becomes deadlier with successive shots. Holding down the trigger lets the Kohm spit out additional pellets at the cost of accuracy and extra ammo consumption. For up-close and personal attacks, the Tipedo is remarkably deadly, and staff-wielding Tenno can finally rejoice at having a way to both slash and pummel the enemy with only a single tool! Another option for long-range slashing is the Panthera, a sawblade launching rifle that cuts through enemies at a distance. It also boasts a unique secondary fire that hovers a sawblade a short distance ahead — perfect for home improvement projects, cake cutting, and creating Infested fertilizer. New EnemiesVey Hek isn’t the only one up to new tricks! The Orokin Corrupted, likely tired of being mauled by Tenno weaponry, have upped the ante by growing their ranks. New enemies, Corrupted Butchers, now appear in any Orokin Void Mission type. Corrupted Rocket Bombards and Corrupted Nullifier Crewman also appear in Void missions, but are limited to T3 and T4. Raiding the Void for those rare Prime parts just got that much more dangerous. New Game ModeA new twist on an old classic, the Corpus Hijack mission type has now been added to Sorath, Europa. Similar to the original Hijack, Corpus Hijack has Tenno escort an ATV loaded with valuable Corpus information to its extraction point. Of course, the Corpus probably have a thing or two to say about Tenno stealing their stuff and loading it onto the space-van. Players need to stay close to the vehicle, fend off Corpus assault teams and keep the information safe from damage. Should the ATV be destroyed the mission is deemed a failure, so keep a sharp eye on the prize when trying out Europa’s latest Mission. New Customization FeaturesSome great news for anyone who wants that extra bit of customization: unique Sigils are free for all PS4 Tenno! Be sure to check your inbox to receive this unique Warframe customization. The first of our User Generated Skins are also now available for purchase. These skins were created and voted on by our wonderful community, and we’re proud to be able to share the end result with everyone. 25% of Platinum sales made by each UGC Skin purchased goes directly to the skin creator. We’ve also opened up the Liset and Dojo customization options to include some interior recoloring. Dojo Poloychrome can be used to recolor Dojo rooms to something your clan may find more suitable. Perhaps a dash of pink and green? Orange and blue? Yellow splashed with brown? There’s no need to take our advice, but we’re pretty sure that color palette would make for an unforgettable Dojo. With Vey Hek’s Fomorian Fleet threatening Tenno progress, Update 15.10 puts a lot on the line. Of course. No conflict is without casualties, but for every inch of space the Grineer claim, the Tenno can show them the true cost of bringing the fight to the Lotus’ doorstep. View the full article
  8. I’m pleased to announce that Minutes will be available on PlayStation Store today. It’s a unique, abstract action game with retro DNA, a pure arcade heart, a super-clean visual style and music to get you in the zone! Inspired by a need to rebel against AAA titles, I’ve designed a minimalist game. Minutes is all about gameplay purity. There are no cutscenes or dialogue trees here. It’s stripped down to the fundamentals — move, collect, avoid, gauge risk vs. reward, think and react. The challenge unfolds across 60 one-minute levels, chasing the score targets and other goals with different “energy shapes†to test you and various power-ups to unlock and assist you. The mechanics at the game’s core are simple: the player controls a circle and moves it around the screen to collect light energy shapes (for points) and avoid dark (which damage the player). On top of this, the size of the circle can be changed (using the L and R shoulder buttons). Go small to stay safe and dodge through the dark energy. Go large to collect more light and, critically, boost your score multiplier. This is the magic risk-reward ingredient in the design. Each level is about chasing target scores, whether to progress or to post up onto PSN leaderboards. Mastering the game means beating other goals: 100% collected, no damage taken and the tough Perfect. Effective use of power-ups (which are unlocked as the game progresses) is an important tool but only one can be used per level. Beginning players might use Fortify to clear damage; or some levels will need Quell to slow down time enough to allow everything to be collected. Figuring out which power-up to use is part of the late-game puzzle solving. The game begins with energy shapes that are straight lines. But these are soon joined by Pulsers, Beams and Spinners. These provide for an infinite range of patterns and configurations that encourage the player to adapt and react. As the game matures for the player it becomes more familiar and shifts from a twitch-based, reactive experience to a more puzzling and strategic one. Each level of the main game mode remains the same every time so they can be learned, figured out, and beaten. However, as an alternative, the Daily Challenge mode allows you to try a completely new, randomly generated level every day. Minutes is cross buy supported and, if you’re playing on PS4 and Vita, you can use the cross save sync to transfer your data and continue playing without worrying about overwriting. This option merges your progress and scores from both platforms. I’m hoping that more games will take this approach in the future. If you want a quick break from crashing cars, running through forests and shooting people in the face, then perhaps it’s time for a few minutes of gameplay purity. Thanks for reading. Throw me some questions and comments below and I’ll answer as much as I can. View the full article
  9. Jungle Rumble is banging its way onto PS Vita… today! A ray of Rhythm-Puzzle sunshine beaming straight from the heart of the jungle, by curious route through the snowed in headquarters of Disco Pixel in blizzard-beseiged Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Jungle Rumble is a game where the player drums on the screen to control a tribe of monkeys. A rival tribe invades to steal bananas. The player drums on monkeys and drums on trees to swing those monkeys through those trees. The player drums on coconuts and drums on invaders to throw those coconuts. It’s a Rhythm-Puzzle game. Making Jungle Rumble happen has involved a lot of late nights by glowing screens, a lot of paying attention while new people playtested, and a lot of rethinking the assumptions of rhythm games. It has come a long way since a frigid night where I pitched the idea to Luigi Guatieri, who did the art. We started off trying to make monkeys as simple and iconic as we could. We experimented with what makes a face look like a monkey. Is it the ears? The hair surrounding everything? The wide mouth? We had long talks about the essence of “monkeynessâ€. It must have sounded very funny to other companies in our office engaged in more serious business! We ended up with a teddy bear sort of monkey. On the off chance it’s not totally obvious, I’m a huge fan of the look Rolito gave to Patapon. I’m a huge fan of the Paul Frank logo. This first attempt was cuddly and had a low fi charm. But it wasn’t iconic. It didn’t zing. And the outlined limbs looked bad when shrunk down enough to fit lots of them on screen. So we threw out the outlines. We amped up the fuzzy. We pondered the essence of monkeyness. We progressed to something simple that seemed to work in a game mockup. What worked was the silhouette. But the fuzziness looked awful when the character was small. So we simplified — we brainstormed removing the fuzz but kept the general silhouette. Now that looked pretty nifty. We could make variations for different tribes or enemy types that were instantly distinguishible. But what about where they lived? What should the jungle look like? We experimented with bright retro pixely. We experimented with super scary. We experimented with weirdly colorful. Being a jungle, bright sunshiny colors were key. Places monkeys can move to need to be clearly visible. We liked broad outlines and bold shapes. So we mocked up some screens. We grew to detest putting tufts of leaves in a grid—it wasn’t organic like a jungle would be. That tree is huge! But it’s too big for the screen. Hmm… Maybe the camera could move during the game to allow for large swaths of jungle? That way there could be massive trees to climb This direction seemed to work. We made parts of the jungle full of misty waterfalls, which you could then approach. We made dank, dark regions to stumble upon and explore. We were in awe of the jungle. We hope everyone likes it! 10. Hola, PlayStation fans! Today we’re excited to talk to you about infamous city-builder and political sim Tropico 5, which arrives on new-generation consoles later this year exclusively on PS4. This is actually the first time Tropico has ever been released on a PlayStation platform before, and to welcome the PlayStation community to Tropico 5, we’d like to introduce you to the world of Tropico and its lovable dictator El Presidente. Our beloved leader El Prez is aware that some people may not have had the pleasure of ruling over their own island republic as an iron-fisted dictator before, so he’s humbly asked us (ordered us) to prepare a list of 9 useful tips on how to rule in Tropico 5. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to be a gruesome tyrant or leader of social justice, but staying in power is no easy feat. So have a read of the list below and ask us any questions about the game in the comments! 1.) Build Your Dream MetropolisAs Presidente, it’s up to you to develop the island as you see fit, but sometimes you need to rein in your crazier ambitions. Ask yourself: is an economy based on pineapple farms sustainable? Cheap housing may sound cost-effective, but unhappy citizens love to rebel — and usually with guns. 2.) Get to Know the Different Political FactionsKeep your friends close, and your enemies so close you’re exchanging fashion tips. It’s essential to understand who wants what on your island — or face game over after being voted out of power. Know your capitalists from your communists. 3.) Trade = $$$Developing industry is important for the growth of your city, and while you might be pleased with a booming llama wool industry, it’s not time to celebrate yet. Use the Trade menu to organise even more lucrative export deals. 4.) Keep It In the FamilyThe dynasty mechanic lets you keep it in the family and utilize your loved-ones for political gain. Outmaneuver rivals and take advantage of unique character traits for bonus effects on your island. 5.) Manipulate the National ConstitutionDepending on what kind of Presidente you are, the constitution can be written to promote democracy — or restrict the rights of the people. Each constitution point has certain effects, so use them to determine your governmental strategy. 6.) Read the Almanac for Important InfoThe all-knowing Almanac stat menu provides every bit of info you need to know about your city and its people. Use this knowledge to improve their quality of life and get more votes! 7.) Rule Across TimeTropico 5 introduces different eras for you to rule across and each one comes with its own challenges. Keep an eye on what changes through the years: quaint colonial shacks probably won’t be all the rage in 2015… 8.) Mess With the Rules in Sandbox & MultiplayerUse sandbox mode to challenge yourself and create even wackier scenarios than in the campaign. Mess with the rules, see what happens and subject unlucky friends to your craziest ideas in 4-person multiplayer. 9.) Sit Back and Admire Your HandiworkTropico 5 for PS4 is rendered in full 1080p with intuitive DualShock4 controls and even Vita Remote Play support: so it’s perfect for those long living room sessions. Tropico is also famous for its sense of humor and flavorsome Latina soundtrack — so sit back, have fun, and enjoy ruling however you like. The island is yours, Presidente. We’ll have more updates and content on Tropico 5 coming up over the next few weeks. For now though, remember! Vote El Presidente…or else. View the full article

  13. Hello PlayStation fam, Dominic Matthews from Ninja Theory here. With the PS4 launch of DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition just about a month away, I wanted to give you some more details on one of the game’s most requested new features: Vergil’s Bloody Palace. Watch the video on YouTube at 1080p and 60 frames per second! Vergil is a huge favorite amongst Devil May Cry fans. It will come as no surprise to you that when DmC was originally released, one of the most requested features for the game was a Bloody Palace mode just for Vergil. When we knew we were getting the chance to create a new definitive edition of DmC, one of the first things on our list was to give the fans the mode that they seemed to want more than any other. Vergil’s Bloody Palace is a 60-floor combat arena. Unlike Dante’s Bloody Palace, where the difficulty progresses through the 5 main difficulty levels, Vergil’s Bloody palace starts on Nephilim difficulty for the first 20 waves, moves onto Son of Sparda difficulty, and ends with 20 waves of very challenging Vergil Must Die difficulty combat. Bloody Palace is traditionally a very difficult challenge to complete and Vergil’s own take on the mode is no different. The best way to play Vergil is to stack up as many kinds of damage as possible. He has lots of attacks which skilled players can layer with his melee moves. For example, Summoned Swords can be fired, and can pull enemies or lift enemies, without interrupting melee attacks. Spiral Swords passively damages enemies once activated, until it wears off. Doppelganger Vergil can be used to attack at the same time as you, or with a delay. When you layer everything up, you can hit with three or four attacks at a time, which is when Vergil is doing the most damage. Of course Devil May Cry is not just about killing enemies but also about how you kill them. Some stylish moves I recommend trying out are jump cancelling with the Killer Bee and following up an Atomic with a Solar Flare. Loads of damage and loads of style! One of the greatest pleasures that I get from working on DmC is watching the awesome combo videos that people create with the game. We’ve seen players do things with the combo system that we didn’t even think were possible. I can’t wait to see videos of what players are able to achieve with DmC: Definitive Edition and in particular Vergil’s Bloody Palace. The game will be available both on disc at retail and as a digital download on March 10 for PS4 for $39.99. View the full article

  18. Fatshark is proud to announce Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide, a game we’ve been working hard on for the past two years. We’ve been wanting to make a Warhammer game since a group of us at Fatshark started playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle together in our spare time back in 2004. At the time, we lacked the experience and the team to build a game that we felt would live up to our dreams. After having worked on a number of games and watched the team grow in size, we finally set out to build our most ambitious game to date in an IP that we are incredibly passionate about. Vermintide is a co-operative action first person shooter and melee combat adventure set in the End Times of the iconic Warhammer Fantasy universe. The game takes place in and around Ubersreik, a city overrun by Skaven. Players will assume the role of one of five heroes, each featuring different play-styles, abilities, gear and personality. Working cooperatively, players must use their individual attributes to survive an apocalyptic invasion from the hordes of relentless rat-men, known as the Skaven. Battles will take place across a range of environments stretching from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Under Empire. Working with Games Workshop has been a dream come true as well as an absolute joy. Vermintide will be published by Fatshark and so we retain a lot of creative control in building the game we want to make. Additionally, we work tightly with Games Workshop to ensure that the right Warhammer feel is accomplished. This has helped ensure that our vision of Warhammer aligns with theirs. It helps us feel confident that our game really looks and feels Warhammer – something that is incredibly important to us. Having built titles like War of the Roses in the past has taught us a great deal about working with melee combat, and we are building Vermintide to be a first person game that handles both ranged and melee combat in a viscerally impressive manner. We always knew we wanted Vermintide to be a cooperative experience and have designed every aspect of the game to coincide with this vision. Everything from the loot system to the narrative is built to enhance the co-op. It’s a game about surviving to the end with your friends. We hope you’re as excited about the game as we are! 20. Hello outlaws! The team here at Switchblade Monkeys is thrilled to announce The Hunting Ground, our first major content drop for Secret Ponchos coming to your PS4 February 17th, 2015. Our goal is to keep the game evolving and growing over time, so it keeps getting better and better. What’s in this expansion?A lot! With The Hunting Ground update we aimed to make sure we provide content for everyone: those who want to support us in expanding the game by purchasing some DLC, and our players who just love Secret Ponchos and want free new content. New ContentWe learned a lot from community feedback since the PS+ launch of our game, and we’ve been working hard on many improvements. Being a tiny indie team, we aimed to putout a game that’s fun and deep, but to do that it would have to start small. One of the things we heard the most is “more contentâ€, so we took that to heart and here it is! Included are 2 new maps – for FREE. Additionally, our artists wanted to show a gesture of appreciation for our community, and have built a custom exclusive unlockable skin as a special reward for our community as a thank you for supporting us and playing the game. In addition to the free content, for those who want to support us there will be 2 new Purchasable playable Outlaws that make their debut! FixesWe’ve been listening and working very closely with the community in our Secret Ponchos forums, and we’ve implemented many tuning/balancing improvements. We’ve also learned that we needed stronger support for new players, so we’ve started implementing improvements such as creating a basic in-game tutorial to get new players started and moving Practice mode (with the outlaw move-sheets) to be front and center. “Hunting Ground†– 2 New Maps IncludedEveryone will get two free maps, increasing our total level count to six. Creatively we tried to push these maps to offer new dynamics to the Secret Ponchos environments. Plaza A classic, battle-torn Spaghetti Western Mexican-style plaza. This is a smaller map, resulting in high-tension combat. Players can battle outside or take fights into smaller buildings. Teams can break off and regroup, and the interiors loop around back to the central open area. The Mines The Mines provide a vastly different experience from Secret Ponchos’ other levels. They combine confined narrow tunnels with an open area, creating a multitude of player opportunities for tactical battles. New Outlaws! We are proud to introduce two new purchasable DLC Outlaws in “The Hunting Groundâ€: Gordo & The Wolf. Following our tradition of ensuring each Outlaw plays as different as they look, these two with their unique mechanics expand our diverse cast from 5 to 7. The new Outlaws are available for purchase, and our goal is to use DLC proceeds to fund development of more content moving forward. These in-game purchases are the best way for the community to support the games growth. And for those reluctant to make purchases, these Outlaws will still add a lot of fun to the game for you because you’ll have a richer variety of enemies and teammates. Gordo Gordo’s development was put on hold last year as we switched the game Engines, and we’re super happy to have him back because he is just an insane archetype. A vile and vicious bandit, Gordo makes his way to claim Lonetree. Armed with a high-powered Gatling, Gordo is able to cut his enemies down from a distance. Gordo also comes to battle with a Molotov, and can block off parts of the map by leaving huge splashes of persistent flames, and he can even pour a trail of fire behind him to further control the environment. The Wolf The Wolf was a lot of fun to work on. We wanted to make her feel focused and deadly. It was a lot of fun to figure out how to build archery mechanics into Secret Ponchos, and her wolf stance animations especially were so much fun to work on. The Wolf is a deadly predator rumored to prowl near the town of Lonetree. Hunting enemies, she deals devastating critical hits as her arrows pierce her enemies. She can switch to “Wolf Stance†moving with great agility to pounce, tackling enemies for the kill with a bone knife. The Wolf is awesome for a technical player, who can take advantage of skill shots with her bow and land critical hits. Thank you everyone for being part of our Secret Ponchos community, and helping us grow the game from its infancy stages. It’s been a crazy experience for an indie team to launch a game into the competitive multiplayer space, and we really hope to continue improving and growing the game. Stay tuned as Feb 17 “The Hunting Ground†debuts exclusively on PS4. As we get closer we will announce more about our Secret Ponchos contest for our Generation 1 users, and more info on the new content. View the full article
  21. Want to play one of the most well-known, bestselling games in the history of gaming? Q*Bert is back — for your PS4, PS3 and Vita. The complete, original version of Q*Bert is only half of the equation. Gonzo Games, Sideline Amusements, Games Production Company, and we here at LOOT Entertainment are also bringing to PlayStation a completely reimagined Q*Bert game: Q*Bert Rebooted. To keep it short and sweet: you get two great Q*Bert games (on all three PlayStation platforms) for the price of one. So: how do you take such a classically perfect game design and successfully modernize it? Instead of cubes, Q*Bert Rebooted features hexagons. That may not sound like a game-changer, but it is; suddenly, you get some really interesting level designs, especially later in the game. In addition, there are new features, such as time and score challenges, new enemies with their own unique behaviors, new playable characters, power-ups, traps, and gem-collecting. Q*Bert Rebooted is the equivalent of your old backyard treehouse refurbished by Bob Vila: same nostalgic joy, but magically just better. Everything that was awesome is still awesome. Q*Bert endures because, like all of the best designs from that era, it’s straightforward, memorable, and timelessly challenging. Whether you played it yesterday or thirty years ago, Q*Bert classic is just as engaging as it was when it came out. This is the genuine classic arcade version of Q*Bert! Q*Bert Rebooted will have you on your toes as you try to figure out the complex maps while the screen throws all sorts of enemies at you. Q*Bert is HARD. Not artificially, stupidly, punish-you-just-to-add-replay-time hard — just challenging enough for the casual user to enjoy and engaging enough for the serious gamer who wants bragging rights. Remember when you had to really hone your skills because every go ‘round cost a quarter? Sometimes the most “casual†games are the ones which, frankly, are for the truly hardcore. 22. Hello again, everyone. Following up on my post announcing that Super Stardust Ultra was coming to PS4 (which you can read here), it gives me great pleasure to let you all know that it will be available to download next week on February 10th. I can also confirm that Super Stardust Ultra supports 3D at full 60 frames per second! We think this is something that you’ll want to show to friends and family, it really does add an extra dimension to an already unique and great looking game. Super Stardust Ultra is packed with incredible depth and variety, from five newly designed planets and other visual enhancements, to nine different single-player game modes. Some of which are brand new, only on PS4. One of these modes is Blockade. As if blasting through hazardous meteor storms or fighting off enemy spacecraft wasn’t difficult enough, you now have to avoid an endless trail of deadly mines that are continually dropped from the back of your Star fighter. The twist however is that everything else on the planet is also destroyed if it makes contact with the mines, so they can be used to your advantage and timing your bombs or boost is critical to staying alive. If you think you have the skills, then check out Interactive Streaming which not only allows you to broadcast your gameplay but also opens up your world, allowing your viewers to decide what happens next. The vote can range from a full onslaught of chaos, to a much needed helpful care package….you have been warned. There’s always plenty to achieve in Super Stardust Ultra, whether you are hunting Trophies in pursuit of the Platinum, or blasting your way to the top of the global leader boards. Competing against friends has never been easier, whether sending direct challenges or playing 2-4 player local split-screen battles — even teaming up in co-op mode. All this will be available on PlayStation Store for $12.99; PS Plus subscribers will receive an additional 20% discount for a period of 1 week after launch, so make sure to pick up Super Stardust Ultra next week! 23. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin on PS4 adds the expected technical improvements, but also remixes core gameplay elements to give veterans a reason to dive back in. The jump to PS4 has given developer FromSoftware an opportunity to paint a more pleasing picture. The native 1080p resolution, upgraded lighting effects, and cinematic filters give the game a richer, cleaner look compared to the PS3 version. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin | PlayStation.com But the biggest improvement comes from the improved frame rate — 60 frames per second according to Bandai Namco representatives. The increased fluidity translates into more responsive movement and combat, a major advantage considering the game’s famously unforgiving difficulty. Then there are the gameplay adjustments. You won’t be able to rely on your memory to cakewalk the PS4 game because some enemies and item locations have been changed. Enemies will follow you more tenaciously, even through fog gates — a terrifying, potentially ruinous side effect of PS4’s expanded RAM pool. Some weapons are also being tweaked. I noticed that the Fire Long Sword, a powerful early-game weapon that saved my butt countless times on PS3, seemed to be way less durable in this version. In other cases, a producer told me, weapons that were largely overlooked may be easier to find, or be adjusted in other ways. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin on PS4 also includes all previously released Dark Souls II content expansions: Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King, so there will be no shortage of things to do and monsters to kill. All in all, I was pleased with the refinements and look forward to dipping my toe back into the cursed world of Drangleic this April — just as soon as I’m done with Bloodborne. 25. Yes! The Order: 1886 is done! From a grand idea flickering in Ru’s disturbingly creative noggin it was imagined, developed and thus realized with love and care by a small team of immature, somewhat unstable, naively optimistic artists and engineers here at Ready At Dawn Studios. The Order: 1886 | PlayStation.com The early days of development on The Order: 1886 were some of the most exciting of our professional careers. PS4 was still an evolving set of specifications, but it was obvious from the beginning that Sony was going to push the limit of what one could expect from a home console. We knew that the generational leap in terms of visual, audio and simulation fidelity would be remarkable. We needed an equally ambitious set of goals for the technology we were developing for our game. We set on creating everything from scratch, with the goal of realizing the unrestrained vision of our artists by innovating in the areas of image fidelity, shading, illumination, volumetric effects and simulation techniques. It was a huge challenge, but at the end we succeeded in more areas than we failed, so it was all worth it. We have created a meaningful foundation, a technological canvas for our artists and designers to grow unbound – who knows what they will come up with in the future. As a “well-seasoned†developer (sigh…) I am in awe that a game running on a home console can offer the player an audiovisual experience like The Order: 1886 does. The technological barriers are crumbling, the scope of our imagination is soon to be the main limiting factor to realizing one’s vision. It is a great time to be making games! If you’d like to know more about the technology behind The Order, please enjoy our latest “Behind The Scenes†video at the top of this post – come February 20th you will forget all about textile shading and volumetric air resistance and just immerse yourself in the world of The Order: 1886. We hope you’ll love it. View the full article
