  1. What do you have now? If you can deal with your Woods for now and just get yourself a descent set of Irons first I would think that would be the way to go. Then next year when you want a new Driver, 3, 5 and maybe 7 wood you can get those. You don't have to get ALL at once.
  2. Unfortunately we don't even know if there is a host anymore. I really don't think /6 knows either! I would love to have 20 up and down but with those speeds I would also want less then 40ms for a server 50 miles away. I will stick with my 15 down 2 up and 10ms from a server 300 miles away. Please explain..You're talking about the ping..? What does that tell you, & how does it affect you/me.? Why would you rather be 300 miles away than 50.? I'm really confused i figured the faster & closer the better.!? Think about it this way. There is no doubt that I will have to go through several more devices to get to a server 300 miles away then 50 miles away. If I am hitting those extra devices and still only take 10ms then my connection and routes are VERY good. Now normally 75ms is considered avg so anything less is good but 10ms is GREAT!!! The farther the distance the longer and slower is normal so if I am seeing the good speeds and latency at a distance that is a VERY good sign.

I admit that I am excited about some of the things that they listed but I believe there are 4 VERY important things that have not been addressed, at least by /6. 1: Player connection indicator - NOT room!!! Like Warhawk OR COD4. 2: Grenade inconsistancy!! This to me is amazingly BAD now!! 3: Mic freeze is back with a vengance!! 4: Losing sound and boot issue. I have not had it happen since 1.42(at least I don't remember) but I hear a LOT of people saying it is happening A LOT to them!
  6. I am going to put my $.02 in..... Now I am partial to LinkSys. They have really good hardware but their firmware is not the greatest. The good thing though is that there are 3rd party firmware's for wireless routers that is GREAT!!! Tomato and DD-WRT are two. The other good thing is that those firmwares can work on other brands too like D-Link or Buffalo. I would stay away from NetGear!!! D-Link and Buffalo have good equipment too. If you don't need all 4 ports then you can do without the switch for now.

    I didn't see this posted already but if so I apologize for repeating. I am just putting this out there so everyone knows that this may be an issue with timing of wars. We are targeting a release late next week, but this may change if any issues arise. Patch 1.42 addresses the following issues: Fixed an issue where players were spawning in incorrect locations. Fixed an issue where players who were voted out of a game were not removed from the game until the end of the round. Addressed an issue where the ragdoll would sometimes receive extreme values. Added some bandwidth optimizations to improve the overall on-line experience, especially under less than ideal network conditions. More bandwidth optimizations to come in future updates. Patch 1.42 is an incremental patch which will be about 17MB for people who already have patch 1.41 installed. We've been working in parallel on patch 1.50. We'll have some exciting new information about patch 1.50 next week.
  8. Don't blame him, it is my fault. It started in the beta when the gun accuracy was so bad I said fuck it and started killing with the RPG. I was sniping with the RPG with more accuracy then rifles!! LOL Then once I shot one right over Seq's shoulder and he said it looked and sounded really cool so next thing you know everyone was sportan an RPG!
  9. I understand what he is trying to do but I don't think it will work. Theoretically you could play the same map and mode ALL NIGHT!! Screw that! I also don't like the fact that a single round tie breaker can heavily favor one side like in past Socoms. Is there a middle ground? I don't know. Maybe inbetween rounds they could post what the score is and who the tie breaker is favoring?
  10. I usually don't say much unless it is Grinder. This started on COD when I would ask him "don't you wish you were on my team?". Sometimes if their name has something I can use I will use it but other then that not a lot. BTW We are SUPPOSE to MOOO BEFORE we knife NOT AFTER!!

  13. there've been bomb problems since before this patch slick. as for spawns it's not as bad as people make it out to be. I only had it happen about 5 or 6 times to me personally last night. On FF I spawned up on the edge where the ladder is as a Merc and in the same board in the tunnels as a Seal. Spawned at the bell tower as a Merc on Xroads Escort. Spawned up on the platform on Urban Wasteland and on the level below it as Seal, both in the same board. This is just my experience, this is NOT including all the clan mates that spawned in different spots in different rounds. So YES this is a HUGE issue! Before I only saw it happen 3 times PERIOD on Kasbah breach, that was it!
  14. Screw ALL of you!! Convertible in the summer, AWESOME with the doors off. 4WD in the winter or on the beach, sand dunes, river, someone's yard! ;D My aunt and uncle have a farm in Northern IL. There is a HWY by them that was backed up about 4 miles with traffic. I had my top down and doors off, popped off road and smiled at every fool stuck in line!! My aunt looked out her door and saw me coming. She just shook her head watching me bouncing up and down laughing at the fools!!
  15. I don't know what is worse. The join hiccup or people spawning outside the map? Cntry posted in our forums that people were spawning on the 3rd floor towers in Kasbah, ON THE SMALL MAP! WTF? Great job QA!!
  16. Clan members of mine are saying the same thing Sorry for the language but this ought to FUCK everything up!! I can see it now. John Doe spawned on the Seals side as a merc and killed all the VIP's within the first 3 seconds! He's GLITCHING!
  17. I am reading on the PS forums that in RANKED rooms spawns are all over the place! Mercs are spawning near the Embassy on Xroads and so on. Can anyone confirm this?
  18. It would be nice to be able to have access to your Socom stats. I am sure there are a few web devs in this community that could have fun with their clans stats.
  19. We were in an elim room yesterday with the NUT clan, 8 on one side 2 on our side. Neeley was the last one vs 3 and he was hiding in a GREAT spot, you couldn't see him. All 3 went RIGHT to him!! One of them on our side messaged one on the other team where he was. If it isn't in game it is Skype or AIM or what ever, there really is no way to police it.
  20. I got the XMB freeze while NOT in game the other night. I was replying to a message and I couldn't exit, I had to shut the system down. So it is not a Socom or other game it is an actual XMB issue.
  21. The reason I don't like that idea is simple. There were to many out there that made ranked rooms where they were SO lopsided and that clan would stay on the easy side 100% of the time. They would make Enowapi breach with no nades or something like that. There was no chance for the Seals. IF they made it where you could make a ranked suppression or something where you could not change any of the other settings I would be fine with that. That's why you check the playlist when you enter a room. If you don't like the maps they put because it was too lopsided, then you leave and go find another room. Plus, I bet it would be enjoyable to have the Trauma Ward every week as a ranked room, the way YOU Want it The play list doesn't even show if it night or day let alone weapons restrictions. No I don't play that way. I think clans that do that are a joke. If you cannot win unless you setup a room to make it impossible for you to lose then you shouldn't play.

Update on Latency (lag) Issues Posted by SOCOM: Confrontation Online Team We've identified a server side issue which is causing some default games (Medley games) to be created on the Japanese and Asian servers for North American players and vice versa. When this happens, players experience higher than normal latency as they are playing on servers which are not located locally. This issue was recently made worse when the number of North American hosted servers was reduced. On Sunday, February 15th, we added back in the North American servers which were removed. This will partially solve the problem as more games will be created in North America. The server team is working on a fix for the root problem as quickly as possible and we hope to have something rolled out soon. Please note, custom games are not affected by this issue. Playing custom games will avoid the latency issues until a server side fix for the problem can be deployed. We would like to thank everyone who provide extremely valuable information in the forums which helped us track down the issue. Discuss this topic in the forums here. It seems it is their end!
