I am sorry to hear all you guys without games for awhile, but this shit makes me laugh. Only because the "machine with better hardware" is having the same problems as the competition. I'm sure worldwide there will be more and more cases of this popping up. I know alot of the guys here aren't irresponsible kids, so I assume that most of these(uf incidents) were in well ventilated areas, yet it's happening. I'm not trying to slam Sony, I'm just pointing out that BOTH companies are shitty. Both systems have great qualities and horrible ones. And the way it always seems to go, you may as well have both systems, so you can play one while the other is in for repairs. The difference is if it was as problematic as the 360 a LOT more would be here not just 4 or 5 people. Again 3% is the norm, if it happens that these few are within the 3% so be it. 360 was well past that 3% even though we may never know the true numbers.

My launch 20GB just died too. Has COD in it and I did it all online, in the notes I stated that COD was in it and I saw on the paperwork it had a spot asking if there was a game inside. Now my question is how long did it take to get the prepaid box? I filled it out on Thursday afternoon and got the emails almost immediately. Is it UPS or USPS?

So all of you can see where I am coming from and WHY I believe Seth should be fired.... Start with the Market data.... Socom 1,2,3 and CA online numbers. Seth was a part of all these versions and SHOULD KNOW what to expect, correct? He should know peak numbers, average numbers and trends over time. It really is not that hard to calculate and he has access to those numbers. So the beta is announced and they send out "coupons" that allow you and 2 friends to join in. They KNOW how many codes are printed and you multiply that by 3, easy enough, right? The print 20k codes, X3 = 60k possible beta testers, example, but you get the picture. So the beta is released! What is the FIRST excuse!? We didn't expect the overwhealming response. WTF!!!!? How could you NOT KNOW!!!? ok, no big deal, they will fix it. So we go through the beta. They take input, fix a few things, adjust a few things. Things happen but at least they give the perception that they are trying to adjust to the community. Not 100% perfect but it is just a beta. The disconnect issues, red X issues and so on. Seth comes out and says it is our poor connections... I prove him wrong. Typical pointing fingers. They take the latency test out which is SORELY needed in an online only game! Then release comes along. First off, IMHO, the "Gold" version is MAYBE one version past beta. UH OH!!! Then the server issues. First excuse, "We didn't expect the overwhealming response". WHAT!!? You are fucking kidding, right!!? You have had past experience KNOWING what numbers 1,2,3 and CA put up. You had the BETA not a MONTH earlier and you had PREORDER numbers. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT!!!? That RIGHT there is ground for termination IMHO!! But no it gets BETTER. We come to find out, AFTER PURCHASE, that the game is half done! What? You sold a half finished product! You allowed an UNFINISHED product to be released to market? You are the Project Manager! This should NEVER HAPPEN!! And now we are on to the patches. I am going to read between the lines like most people on the Playstation forums do. In the past people were assuming that 1.30 was in QA for testing and that it would be released any day. I kept stating they have not said that BUT they say if you read it this way. Ok whatever. This quote right here tells me a lot.... "we are now preparing a final candidate for final acceptance testing and SCE Format QA" They have YET to get 1.30 past their own internal QA!!! Let alone to SCEA QA. That to me is VERY troubling!! Seth is a Project Manager for SCEA. Project Managers are the one person that should KNOW ALL about their Project. They set the scope, timelines, gates, financials and people. He has failed on all accounts! This is PS3's most important title, IMHO, because of the sales the Socom series generated on the PS2 platform. Their BIGGEST seller period! This is a catastophe in terms of PS3 gaming. Microsoft has to be loving it.

Well...the way I see it, they got to finish the damn game before they can add stuff to it. And 1.30 is supposed to finish the game. Kinda funny when you think of it that way. Kinda pissing me off when I think of it that way. I will tell my younger brother to fix SOCOM once he is finished university...and we will make UF the Official Tourney ladder of SOCOM. LOL I hate to break the news to you but 1.30 isn't going to finish the game. They have already announced 1.40 that will add in more features that are not done yet and couldn't make it in to 1.30.

I don't hate. I just have an issue with someone making 6 figures, putting out a half assed product and still has a job. If I did something like that I would be fired, wouldn't you?

this tells me one of two things.... It failed QA and was sent back. Not a good sign. Or They have yet to release it to QA but are still fighting with issues. Which may or may not be a good sign. Either way Seth should be fired!!

i didn't took it like that. it's fine.im assuming this was on quarantine, since i came, i only remember playing quarantine after everybody left, so im also guessing that this was at the early state of the ward. im not taking this personally or anything im just asking you to please take it easy... where you in the team that "booted" him? if no then IDK what happened but there is no need to accuse UF like you are doing, i really doubt he was booted cause of something like that, maybe there was a misunderstanding... but then again i wasn't there so i can't say anything about it and since no one else has explained the situation then you can't go all open accusing UF or it's clans for something that you don't know the whole story of. wait for someone to give you the full story...if some one doesn't give it, then im sorry in behalf of UF.<<< how's that? Personally I don't know exactly who was in the room at the time. I know there were a few old "friends" that are not a part of the UF community but I am 99% sure most of those left right after Fallen. I am getting tired of clans , not UF, coming in to a room and deciding they are going to take over and that led to some of the frustration.

Did you clear out cache, cookies and ALL files from internet temp directory? IF you cannot clear this back up all your data, format and reinstall. There are times where you just need to say F it!

chili, I am not arguing with anybody. I am just stating the norm for electronic manufacturing. Personally I am going to invest my money in to something that will last. If 360 didn't have such a high failure rate I probably would have gotten one, I just didn't want to take the chance. I use to work for Motorola. When their phones were made in the US I bought Motorola, they WERE awesome! Now I won't touch them! Everything made in China for Motorola sucks! That is a big problem for A LOT of US manufacturers! Our people may cost more BUT our product is MUCH better! (in terms of electronics).

Money, the 43% was what was reported, I don't know if we will ever see accurate numbers. I have yet to see a scare for the PS3 and like I said 300,000 for 10m units. So if 50,000 pop up, it may look like a lot but it is still under that 3% threshold. Also that is what is EXPECTED sometimes it may higher or lower.

You have to remember that when it comes to electronics manufacturing the expected fail rate is 3%. Sony is VERY good when it comes to that. Unfortunately for Microsoft the XBOX put them way over that with the red ring issues. At any given point someone will have a product fail, it happens! So think about it. IF 10 million units are made they expect 300,000 to fail. If less then great if more then they need to look at what is going on. I read that the 360 was in the 43% failure rate. 4.3 million units fail out of 10 million, that would not be good.
