I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all. Are there any guys who make 500K or more on this board? Any wives? Could you send me some tips? I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. 250,000 won't get me to central park west. I know a woman in my yoga class who was married to an investment banker and lives in Tribeca, and she's not as pretty as I am, nor is she a great genius. So what is she doing right? How do I get to her level? Here are my questions specifically: - Where do you single rich men hang out? Give me specifics- bars, restaurants, gyms - What are you looking for in a mate? Be honest guys, you won't hurt my feelings - Is there an age range I should be targeting (I'm 25)? - Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story there? - Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out? - How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for MARRIAGE ONLY Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest way. I offer the following analysis of your predicament. Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I see it. Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a crappy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful! So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you! So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage. Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So, I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful" as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout. By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation. With all that said, I must say you're going about it the right way. Oh, you had every right to be. Honestly, what we saw (or rather, what we DIDN'T see) in Breakout pretty much pushed Sniper and I to the edge. We both simultaneously talked each other off the edge of the bridge, though. You guys don't feel like giving back to the community? FINE. Sniper and I just resolved ourselves to making UF even BETTER, so much better, than you won't even think otherwise next time. S'what we do.......

For the first time in UF's 4-yr existence, we will be EXPANDING the community of Urgent Fury to encompass more than just SOCOM. Stay tuned for upcoming news as to which new PS3 platform game(s) we will be supporting in tourney play the ONLY way Urgent Fury is able to do. We're excited about the news, wanted to keep it in.....but dammit, that's hard. And for you religious SOCOM players.....don't worry, SOCOM will ALWAYS be our flagship game/tourney combo.......as long as SOCOM's being put out, Sniper and I will.....err......keep puttin' out. Only tip we can reveal at this time is that UF will always and ONLY encompass military-themed shooters. Nothing else. Statements soon to come. Thank you. We're planning on 2008 to be a good year for UF and we're starting to gear up for it EARLY.

I just received a PM from a now-Black III Clan Rep that he was unaware that the invites were out....LOL....because the invites were near the bottom of the forum and he never scrolls down that far. So.....this is a reminder to those who have not yet accepted: Black III invites are OUT. You have until the deadline to accept, which is Thursday. After Thursday at midnight, your invite gets shuffled off to the next Clan Alternate. Thank you.

It reminds me of two things..... Either a really cool kid's clubhouse or Headbanger's Ball on MTV. Either one is fun. LOL

I already said "Happy Bday" on the APC forums so I'm NOT saying it again. Gugh.......

Well, with the elimination of 101 this past week, we are down to just four clans remaining in the UF4 action. Because of this, there is no longer a "race" for the clans to find out who will be making the cut into Full Scale Assault Week, as it required 4 or less clans. Now, the test is to see who will have the most eligible players and the most territories by the end of the 12th week. With the 13th week having two nights of playoffs on maps of the clans' choosing, depending on what they OWN at that time, it's set to be an incredible night for some and a very tough night for others. JyK and APC currently lead with 16 and 13 territories, respectively. Both LTU and <N> are tied with 5 territories. JyK and APC are almost assured a spot in the 13th week, which is assured to happen now, and LTU and <N> could both potentially be eliminated in the next two weeks or gain/keep enough territories to make it to Full Scale Assault Week. With Full Scale Assault Week definitely happening, and all we have to see is WHO will be making it there, I'd like to congratulate these four clans on making it this far and, thus far, securing their place in the "playoff" series portion of UF4. Again, we will have to see how the action unfolds. And by the 13th week, it will not matter HOW MANY territories a clan has. <N> and LTU, if they can make it to that point, have JUST as much a chance to take the crown home as JyK or APC do. At THAT point, it's ANYONE'S game....and all four clan's should hold on to that. We've had many, MANY great clans populate and duke it out here in UF4, so these four clans making it this far is a tribute to their abilities as a clan. No matter who the victor comes out to be, these four clans have certainly proven their worth in gold here in Urgent Fury: Prisoner of War! Now let's have some clean wars these final two weeks of regular play, gentlemen!

As usual, in case people have forgotten.......there will be pleasures waiting for the winning clan of UF: Black III. 1: An automatic invite into the upcoming UF5: ------- ---- -------------- tour. Clan numbers and Area of Operation still to be released to the public. 2: Your chance to NAME one of the upcoming territories to be fought over in the entire UF5 tourney. So there ya go, in case we forgot to mention it before.

The invites for UF Black III will be posted on time, as scheduled, in 30 minutes. At this time, I would like to remind everyone here that we had to sift through 20+ applications for a 16-clan tourney, which means that not everyone will receive an invite tonight. This happens with every tourney, tacmap, Black or otherwise. Black tourneys serve a very specific purpose to UF protocol, and the invites are very deliberate in who we send them to. UF vets excluded from the action on this one.....DON'T FRET! This will not be the last Black tourney of the year and there will be ongoing exciting news here in the community in the meantime. With that said.....we'll let the ticker click away and invites will be up in.......oh........29 mins. GOOD LUCK TO ALL.

The bombing thread has been removed, because people took it in a VERY hostile direction......and heritages were getting a little crazy in the head. Return to your threads on football and PS3/Xbox wars.......they're much tamer.

101 was eliminated from the UF4 action last week by JyK. 101 had a great run, better than most, throughout the tourney, holding a good, solid position on the 2nd place spot and menacing to take the lead from APC much of the time, but some severe PoW losses took its toll and 101 hit their demise quite surprisingly and quickly. Much respect to 101 on their UF4 run. Great clan, great attitude and an all-around GREAT fixture here at the UF Community. Hats off t'ya, 101. They had MY respect weeks ago. They walk out of the tourney with my respect well intact. GOOD JOB.

Wiz - brings up some interesting points. Street - Is still undeniably tied to Socom like an inmate who doesn't want to leave prison after 50 yrs. Rooster - brings up a good point. > We WILL be looking at next-gen games for the PS3, but we WILL have to wait until they can come out. A creator here in UF will need to play the game, check out its format possibilities to what we do here in UF, and then we can make a determination as to whether or not we can make it happen. We tried with Vegas.....bust. We tried with Warhawk......bust. But it shows we ARE trying and that as soon as a game that DOES fit our parameters, we will give it a green light here in UF. Urgent Fury will NOT be JUST for Socom. Sniper and I made those plans YEARS ago. But finally we're starting to see the signs that will allow us to branch out...and only just recently. We WILL be adding new games to the Socom community, which will change both our website and forums.....but that time hasn't arrived yet. So we can all stop the East Coast / West Coast (xBox / PS3) wars and just love each other.

Yeah......we've seen what a $10 fee with a $150 return yielded for us just 3 weeks ago. Somehow, a bid for NOTHING back just doesn't scream "worthy" of the effort, y'know? As always, the notion is appreciated. Sniper and I got our fill of being jaded weeks ago.

The Black III invites were originally scheduled for next week, the 19th. However, as we wish to schedule wars on the following Tuesday, the 23rd, we want to make sure clans have ENOUGH time to accept/pass their invitation, as well as get ALL of their members properly acclimated to the RULES of Black III, we're going to release the invites to Black III on SUNDAY, October 14th. Stay tuned. 16 clans will be invited to participate.
