  1. That Japanese outfielder Kosuke Fukodome is Hendry's top target right now. He has to wait for him to declare he wants to play for the US before any contracts can be offered, but they have been "talking" for weeks now. That is the reason Hendry was so quick to pull the trigger on dealing Jacque Jones and letting Cliff Floyd go. Fukodome is supposed to be a 5 tool player and really fundamentally sound. Scouts compare him to a mix of Ichiro and Hideki Matsui. Also the Cubs are rumored to be finalizing a deal with the Orioles for Brian Roberts which would take care of our need for a lefty bat and speed at the top of the order. If Hendry pulls the trigger on that deal then Roberts will lead off and start at 2nd, Soriano will move to the middle of the order which makes him exponentially more dangerous, and Mark DeRosa will move from 2nd to Right. This deal makes sense too just in case we don't get Fukodome (he is expected to be our right fielder if acquired), we have DeRosa to play there. In the event we do get him the Cubs will do one of a few things: Start Fukodome at Center, DeRosa at Right (Soriano has Left locked up) Start Fukodome at Right, use DeRosa as a super utility and Felix Pie will finally get his shot Shop either Felix Pie or Mark DeRosa and adjust the depth chart accordingly with whoevers departure opening a position for the other.
  2. When did you order yours? I ordered mine on November 30th and it still comes up as "pending." Does it have to clear customs or something since it is coming from Japan?
  3. LMFAO!
  4. I feel like I wasted 30 minutes of my life lol.
  5. Absolutely. We beat the #1 team down (Ohio State) in their house. Our offense is really balanced with Juice scrambling/passing and Mendenhall running the ball. Our defense has gone unsung this season too, they have done a really good job. If the Illini hadn't lost to Michigan (Michigan was ranked at the time) we would easily be ranked in the top 5.
  6. New England is at home, no way they will lose. They'll shut down Willie Parker this week.
  7. Oh yeah! I am counting the days until new years day .
  8. NASHVILLE -- The Detroit Tigers dramatically blew past the Los Angeles Angels in the Miguel Cabrera talks here Tuesday, bypassing the Angels to land not only the slugging third baseman, but All-Star left-hander Dontrelle Willis, too. In return, the Tigers, according to multiple sources, will send six players to Florida: Outfielder Cameron Maybin, lefty Andrew Miller and catcher Mike Rabelo from their 40-man roster, and three minor league pitchers in Burke Badenhop, Dallas Trahern and Eulogio De La Cruz. The deal remains contingent on some medical checks. Having already acquired shortstop Edgar Renteria from Atlanta earlier this winter, the Tigers now are loaded on paper and owner Mike Ilitch obviously is serious in his attempt to get back to the World Series. The Tigers were able to add Cabrera, one of the game's best young sluggers, and starting pitching depth in Willis without sacrificing anyone who figured to be on their opening day roster in 2008. As things stand now, Detroit's projected opening day lineup looks something like this: CF Curtis Granderson 2B Placido Polanco 3B Cabrera RF Magglio Ordonez DH Gary Sheffield 1B Carlos Guillen C Ivan Rodriguez LF Jacque Jones SS Renteria The Cabrera deal also appears to have squeezed Brandon Inge out of the lineup. From the Marlins' perspective, it's very close to the deal they expected to seal all along -- be it from the Angels, Dodgers or anyone else. They get a pitcher with a bit of major league experience who should be ready to join their rotation in Miller, a swift outfielder who is close to major league ready in Maybin, a catcher in Rabelo and three young arms who will help keep their pipeline from the minors to the majors stocked. Willis was on vacation when he heard the news. "I'm in Mexico right now with my family. I'm kind of busy," he told the Associated Press. "It's very serious, but nothing is finalized yet because some issues need to get worked out," Tigers manager Jim Leyland told the AP. Florida didn't even approach the Tigers until Tuesday morning. The Marlins told the Tigers they could have the two stars for those six players, then Detroit called back about two hours later and agreed. "If it does happen, obviously they're getting two very good players," said Yankees manager Joe Girardi, who managed the Marlins in 2006. "Miguel Cabrera is one of the finest hitters in the game. He can do so many things with a bat, whether you want him to hit a home run for you, you want to hit and run, work the count, get on base. And Dontrelle Willis has been one of the premier lefties in the National League." Willis, the 2003 NL Rookie of the Year and a two-time All-Star, is coming off a down year in which he went 10-15 with a 5.17 ERA. He will be part of a solid rotation with Justin Verlander, Kenny Rogers and Jeremy Bonderman as Detroit tries to reach the World Series for the second time in three seasons. Cabrera and Willis were the last players left from Florida's 2003 championship team. Unable to secure a new ballpark, the Marlins keep shedding players when they are due to earn huge salaries. Cabrera made $7.4 million this year and Willis $6.45 million. Both were eligible for arbitration and likely to receive raises. Detroit had not been considered a contender for Cabrera or Willis. "It was kind of like, wow, when I heard. I halfway expected one of them to get traded, but not both in the same deal. So it's a little bit of a shock," Marlins left fielder Josh Willingham said. "It's deflating because they're great teammates and good friends. It's going to be hard not seeing them around. I know we got some good players in the deal, but Miguel and Dontrelle are proven big league players, and it's going to be tough to fill those roles. Miguel brings you more than 100 RBI, 30 home runs and a .300 batting average, and while Dontrelle had a disappointing year last year, he's a workhorse. He's going to eat up 200 innings and he's always healthy. It will be tough to replace those guys." In return, the Marlins get a pair of highly rated prospects: Maybin was the 10th pick in the 2005 amateur draft and Miller was selected sixth overall the following year. "I'm glad we're in the other division," Boston manager Terry Francona said. "That lineup just got scary." ----------------------------------------------------- Other notable trades so far during the winter meetings (Started yesterday): The White Sox acquired OF Carlos Quentin from the Diamondbacks for minor league 1B Chris Carter. Nationals get OF Elijah Dukes from the Rays for minor league lefty Glenn Gibson. Rockies acquire Jose Capellan from Tigers for Denny Bautista Braves acquire Will Ohman and Omar Infante from Cubs for Jose Ascanio
  9. Bad ass! I wasn't going to go through prestige mode again, but with double XP it won't take any time to go through it one more time.
  10. Good luck everyone!
  11. They really need to at least double our friends list size. Hell I got 25+ spots taken up by my own clan members. Ditto, they need to increase it to like 100+. I had 100 people on my friends list on socom, not including APC. I don't really see why games put such a small cap on available friends. Why not make it almost impossible to fill your list like with AOL Instant Messenger.
  12. What's up Barbeque.
  13. Who are you..? He is in APC, Nod amend your profile to reflect your clan tag.

  16. Well Ohio State is all but guaranteed a spot in the Championship game with BOTH #1 Mizzu and #2 West Virginia losing. Ohio State will likely be bumped up to number 1 and LSU may leapfrog over idle Georgia due to their win over Tennessee today. Typically the Rose Bowl is the top Pac 10 team vs the top Big 10 team and with Ohio State in the Championship game the Illini are the next best in the big 10. In order to become BCS eligible they have to move up one spot to #14, which is imminent with Tennessee's loss (#14, right ahead of the Illini) and BC's loss (#12). So the Illini will be BCS eligible, but I have heard rumblings that Georgia may get the bid to the Rose Bowl if they don't move into the title game (They are #4). I highly doubt that the BCS would go against past trend in the Big 10 vs Pac 10 rivalry by giving the bid to Georgia. What do you guys think will happen? I'm very happy to finally see the Illini BCS eligible for the first time since the Sugar Bowl blowout loss.
  17. I owe all the credit to [APC] DeadCity for finding this link and posting it on our forums. The Dualshocks just hit the shelves in Japan and reviews are good on them. I was skeptical at first about buying one due to the controller being made for Japanese consoles. My fears were quickly resolved when I read an article on IGN that they used the dualshock's on their American PS3. Get these while you can for this price and you won't have to wait until late spring for the release of the DualShock here. http://www.japanvideogames.com/PLAYSTATION_3_s/21.htm
  18. i've been told that during socom clans hated that we could quick snipe and where one of the best clans to do so and so clans started to put iMr on "black lists" so every clan that put iMr on there "black list" was put on our "hit list" as both a joke to the other clans and a place where we could see, ok so and so doesn't want to war us. I mean with a record off 200wins and 8loses on s3 and coming in second place to TNU in there ct tournament we where one of the best socom clans every but now where trying to repeat the former glory we once had on socom with cod4 To inform you, boasting about how your clan was "the best to quicksnipe" in Socom will get you no love here or on any other gaming forum except maybe GB. Quicksniping was a glitch, cheat, exploit, find the name that makes it sound the best...oh wait none do, because it is a pathetic display of blatant cheating. I am not sure if you were with iMr or ever played Socom, but the reason clans didn't want to war you is because of quicksniping. It has been banned from Socom by their developers in the latest patch.
  19. Gotcha. You can call me a hick/yankee for this but most of my free time when I'm not working or gaming is taken up either hunting which consumes 9 months out of 12 hunting various game, fishing for the 3 months there are no hunting seasons, also mixed in there is a little snowboarding and snowmobiling. I am an outdoors kind of guy and the only thing that keeps me in my pad is gaming with APC. Also have you tried ATVing? I own one for hunting purposes, but man those fuckers are the shit.
  20. Get a snowmobile!
