  1. They are going for anywhere between $150 and $350 on Ebay
  2. The title of this thread suggests that this issue is for all 3 platforms.
  3. I wish I would have invested in gold I can tell you that.
  4. Aim bots, lag switches, frame drops, and host migrations oh my...
  5. That spoof was incredible super kudos Commander
  6. Bet they find a copy of Grand Theft Auto in his system.
  7. Yes Irish most if not all PS3 exclusives have dedicated servers but there are a couple differences from PC. On the PC you are allowed to host your own games on your own servers and on consoles your not. The dedicated servers managed by Sony are not quite as free as what you get on PC. Another thing is it comes down to the code in the game as to how well it will run and I think we can all agree the code in Confrontation was god awful. This explains why MAG can run 256 players and Confrontation can't get through a 32 player game without a mass boot. @Shane your probably right to an extent but I think dedicated servers and digital distribution are the future anyway.
  8. This game will have dedicated servers check out what a dev on homefront said. http://www.destructoid.com/kaos-dedicated-servers-essential-for-online-games-190853.phtml Homefront developer Kaos Studios has stated a belief that I think many PC gamers won't argue -- that large-scale online games need dedicated servers, and that they're unplayable without them. Take note, Infinity Ward! Homefront will feature dedicated servers across PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, with PC players also able to set up local servers. "For 32 players, you have to have dedicated servers, or else it would be unplayable," says community manager Jeremy Greiner. "When you play Xbox Live where it's 12 to maybe 16 players max, where it's just one of the players hosting it, it can still get pretty darn laggy. So it's a necessity in order to deliver the multiplayer experience we want. We're committed to setting up server farms all around the world so that everyone has good ping, low latency and gets rid of that awful host advantage. "So, dedicated servers are hugely important and in order to deliver the multiplayer experience we're looking for with vehicle, air strikes, drones, infantry, air-to-air and air-to-ground combat, all on really large maps, it's the only way to do it." It's worrying that in this day and age, there are still online games that lack basic features like dedicated servers or even host migration. If you're not going to put in the basics, just don't bother making a game at all.
  9. I started with the launch of S3 so I guess you could say I missed out on some of the good ole days but I gotta say even those games were much better than Confrontation and they were the bastard children among the community. The only things that I had a bit of a problem with on S3 and CA was the bullet spray and maybe the size of some of the maps along with the now outdated graphics. The old Socom feel with updated graphics is something I have been waiting for since I bought my PS3.
  10. Wow I don't understand why someone would do something like this.
  11. Ahem, The challenge may not have been met on a console... http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/01/01/pc-gamers-have-won-the-battlefield-bad-company-2-vietnam-battle-for-hastings/
  12. To be technical I know people who use computer monitors to play console games on.. I have personally been considering using one of my 3d gaming monitors for my PS3 but since my PS3 triples as a gaming console, blu ray player, and netflix device I have opted to keep it in the living room so far. Besides I have a ton of games to play on steam anyway. Other than that I do not know the OP although I did see a post similar to this on the Socom.com boards. Also I may have seen a post on the Socom.com boards by the OP where he was supporting Urgent Fury as a great place for fair gaming. I really can't say where his experience comes from on the subject but it was there none the less.
  13. Switch the view to classic camera and the closest game mode to Socom in COD is HC Search and Destroy.
  14. Just glancing at that hurt my eyes...
