I don't think there is any way you can play a Blue Ray disc on anything other then a Blue Ray player. I think the laser specs are significantly different, I could be wrong though. Blue Ray drives for PCs are still pretty expensive so I cannot imagine how much one would be for a laptop right now. They will be out in the future so I would wait until the price comes down.

Since the launch of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation in North America, we've been working to address the server and stability issues in order to get them resolved ASAP. We have a team of close to 100 people working to get the issues resolved. On the server side, we've been updating the SOCOM: Confrontation servers nearly every morning and we have not seen any major server access issues in the last week. We are continuing to optimize the servers and we've also started the process of restoring some game UI (User Interface) features which were disabled on the server side a few days after launch in order to reduce load on the servers. On the game client side, we are in acceptance testing for the 1.20 SOCOM: Confrontation game update. As mentioned in my previous post, the focus of this patch is to address stability and serious playability issues only. The 1.20 update addresses many of the freezes and getting booted to the XMB issues. It also addresses the mass game boot (where many players are simultaneously disconnected from a game), the scope offset issue when prone or using the SIXAXISâ„¢ peek and other issues. We are doing all we can to get this patch released this week but a final date is still TBD until the acceptance testing is complete. Once we have a final date we will post it here on the blog along with a complete fix list. There are several reasons that this could be happening. There are also tools at dslreports.com that will check Windows and registry values to make sure that you are optimized. If I remember correctly it is Dr TCP or something like that. It will test and show you what you should have and it will change them for you.

Uhm I would have to disagree. If you have 10Mbps and you cannot play and download something then something else is wrong. Either you are losing packets, something mis configured or something else. If you use Torrents then you are going to have issues not because of how much bandwidth but how many connections you are allowing. What is just as important as download is upload. If you have poor upload then you would see a host of issues as well. There are SO many variables that could cause lag. My problem is with people that have low bandwidth and still insist on being host! I dont understand the disagreement. I COULD download and play at the same time, I choose not to because it can and probably will cause lag, REGARDLESS of your my connection SPEED. That was my whole point, i dont notice much of a difference when i do play and use the PC at the same time, but Im sure one is there and I prefer a direct, stable, wired connection to the PS3. Even with the highest speed internet available you can experience poor stability and packet loss. Thats what Im saying. If you have 10Mbps download that means the pipe can handle quite a bit. Playing Socom, even as host, the most you should use would be MAYBE 60Kbps/person in the room. COD was 40Kbps so I am OVER guesstimating. That would be 2Mbps download in a 32 player room. Now here is the issue. UPLOAD! You may have 10Mbps Down but MOST ISP's only provide small upload. Anywhere from 128Kbps to 2Mbps. So if you have 768Kbps Upload, which seems to be the avg, You shouldn't host a room with more then 10 people. So if you are downloading 2Mbps you still have PLENTY of pipe left to handle other downloads. Think of it as a water pipe. You are running water to the kitchen at full blast so your bathroom will get less water. Now you put in a bigger pipe and run the same amount to the kitchen but now the bathroom will be able to get more at the same time. BTW I have a web server and 5 VPN connections through mine and still have PLENTY of bandwidth to host rooms. Most connections now are pretty solid. Even the cable sharing issue is no longer an issue. That issue was with DOCSIS 1.0 and Coax only. Most cable, if not all, are Fiber to a Node close to your house and DOCSIS 2.0 and hopefully DOCSIS 3.0 in the near future. Yes DSL is a dedicated circuit for the end user but that connection is STRICTLY determinate on linear foot. The farther away you are the weaker your connection is and this issue will ALWAYS be there. These issues with the freezing is STRICTLY /6 end!! There is nothing we can do to prevent it. It has NOTHING to do with our connections or LAN setup. Yes you can help being hardwired to your PS3, IMHO, that is the only way to go but that is to minimize any latency or packet loss. Although I am waiting to see Seth Luisi post that it is OUR poor connections again.

My problem is Socom 2 had an AVG of 40-50 thousand users. What did they think was going to happen with Confrontation? What 20k at most? I don't buy it. I don't think Sony is responsible for the servers. All other titles, COD for example, have to use their or outsourced servers (demonware). So why does /6 get preferential treatment? If they do then why don't they have the capability to handle 25k at once? If Sony is supporting server side wouldn't they KNOW and be PREPARED for 50-100k min?

You don't even have to go to Cent 4. go to ANY server then click join after you accepted the invite and it will put you in game. When I get home I will see if I can record the process.

I know the Rays have some great young talent and I am EXTREMELY happy that NY nor Boston are in the series. That said I want the Phillies to win. Most broadband providers provide free anti virus so you may want to check in to that. Norton retail does hog up system resources but remember that you get what you pay for. Enterprise edition works great but you have to pay for that. Of course I have that because of my job.

I don't think Kathryn is as important. A lot of people I know, including me, are really tired of her I'm better then everyone else attitude. I know it is character but it does get annoying especially the way she tries to show up Grissom or question is decisions on a regular basis. No this is not the last season BUT Grissom is taking some time off for whatever reason. As far as the father issue goes with Warick. It was obvious he was talking about Grissom, they were a lot closer as friends then the show portrayed, it was kind of an assumed thing. It is the same with Nick and Greg with Grissom. Especially after the two had their incidents, with the Nick being buried alive and when Greg killed the kid in the mob to save the guys life.

That is actually 100% incorrect. That was the entire point of my previous post, The ONLY THING simliar between Beta and GAME are the actual gameplay experience. Opinion has nothing to do with it. As of now 90% or MORE cannot play this game for more then 1/2 hour without freezing, disconnects, join errors and so on! That has nothing to do with opinion that is poor development. I could care less about the options I want the dam game to play! If it doesn't play options don't matter.

It is a different version but it is not far from release. It is not like we are playing a 2 year old revision, what would be the point in testing the servers with a VERY old revision? You would want to be able to test with the latest version you can. Will the beta and release be the same? NO but it is not going to be night and day either.
