SOCOM Confrontation DLC

Many of you have been eagerly awaiting information on the SOCOM: Confrontation DLC pack and today we’re happy to announce that DLC will be available to the community later this summer.

 

We'll be unveiling a lot more information on the contents of the packs in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, here are the basic things you can expect to see in this huge update to SOCOM: Confrontation…

lol figured I'd get on the train eventually. I can't seem to get enough of my Socom bros to buy Killzone so unless I want to play Red Faction (I don't) I need to go back to Socom. I'll still play KZ more than anything else besides maybe Madden when it drops. It's nice that Slant my a$$ finally announced some DLC but unless 1.50 comes out and fixes a bunch of sh.it it's still like playing Socom with herpes.

We will get a big patch that resets everything right after xmas- That way all the newbs that get the game from santa dont feel cheated... Then 3 weeks later we will get a patch that fix all th shit that patch broke... *then you will not hear from slant 6 for 3 months... Then you will get a patch to fix some broken shit... Then 4 months later you will be able to buy a map pack with 3 maps on it (maybe re skinned old ones if your lucky).

 

I hope I am wrong but thats SOE's track record with franchise shooters at this point in time.

 

So far socom is right on track with my time line... :'(

I totally forgot about Vigilance!! Awesome map and its cool they added snow to change it up a little bit. I really am curious to see this map redone. This will be enough to regain my interest IF its all free. But it is still about 9 months too late.

agree... vigilance is a great map for warring, alot of tense moments on this map back in the day, I cant wait to see it myself...

Vigilance was a great snipers only map too. Nice boundry to keep on a side-remember all the asses that would cross over?

Hopefully it all (1.5, 1.6 & DLC) actually comes out and works. I'm still a fanboy holding out for the SOCOM cause.

Do we know for sure that thats Vigilance? I didn't read that anywhere. They said a new area of operation but I never seen the word Vigilance. If so I loved that map, but I was just curious if this was someones interpretation or if it was actually Vigilance.

 

Also I guess for now assuming that it is Vigilance what area of operation was that map from? Are we to assume that other maps in that AO are coming as well?

I would expect mostly snow maps being the AO Obviously is in a cold weather area. and Vigilance is the guess 99% of everyone agrees on based on the channel with the bridge and steep stairs through the middle of town shown. If it's not Vigilance then they copied at least a portion of vigilance.

Agreed, the more I look at it and now that I have a cup of coffee in me and my mind is working that it looks just like that. Well either way I can't wait but this probably won't be coming anytime soon

For those who don't remember Vigilance:

That absolutely is Vigilance. You got the bridge with the two tunnels, one of them being blocked off by debri. The houses straight ahead + the tower are exactly like the ones from Vigilance. It has the exact look of Vigilance all over, just covered in snow. If this actually does come out soon and doesn't have issues, I'm looking forward to it.

Also I think Vig was from Albania. Wonder if they are bringing back more Albanian maps with it. I believe the Albanian maps were Vigiliance, Mixer, and Fox Hunt if my memory is correct. All great maps IMO.
