Well CONGRATULATIONS, NightStalkers! Hell of a run and hell of a job!

Hey everyone, Recently a friend of mine took a trip to Italy and upon return came back with some goodies for me......as they know my fondness for......sigh.....chocolate. They also thought I would get a kick out of what was brought back as well. Below are pics of a Kit Kat bar sold in Italy. The wrappers are written in Italian and LOL there is a Wii Giveaway contest going on there as well. The other pic is of a bar I have never heard of here in the States, but evidently over in Italy, Nestle France makes a bar of chocolate called "Lion." I have had these two bars sitting here on my desk as mementos for about 2-3 months now. But now I'm hungry. So I took pics of them for the memories, and will now eat them for my craving belly! LOL Anyway, thought this was game-related enough with the Wii on it!

Yeah, I talked to Sniper on this and it looks like the only time we'll remotely host it is when the podcast runs past a certain amount of time. We'll see what we can do to continually keep it on the UF website.

Unintentional, but abstractly poignant.

I LIKE how games are TRYING to break the mold of "made for sloths by geeks" mentality in the world. Games ARE trying to become the next GREAT entertainment source in America. Back in the day, it was comic books. Comic books got supplanted by movies. Movies CAN get supplanted by video games....but only if the CONTENT and story are there, and ONLY if it grabs more shares of consumers in the world. Games won't be heralded as the next and BONA FIDE method of entertainment until every demographic is included in the ranks of the players. Every age, every gender, every financial bracket. Like movies. And it won't get there unless there is something to ENGAGE them. And button mashing is not engaging. Story is. The TRICK is to find the balance. I applaud the effort that MGS is trying to make, but will have to wait and see if they do it successfully.

LOL, we (the producers and I) noticed that during the taping. That's my hammock chair behind me. We saw it and when I looked closer at my image on the tv, I laughed and said "aw, leave it in there. It looks whacked out." When I was sitting further back from the camera, it looked even MORE like antenna on me. I actually pushed myself closer to the cam to eliminate the look just a little bit. But I saw it beforehand and wasn't too worried about it. I was kinda HOPING someone would catch it like we did.

I'll agree with this. I believe Socom set the bar on just about everything in this game that WE as a unified community look for. Socom brought the gameplay, it brought the community aspect and it brought a solidified clan aspect. CoD4 brought the graphics (which it was supposed to because it's next gen). it brought the action (with the respawn) and it brought us FPS, which some like and some don't. Playing Devil's Advocate here, I think it rather EASY to say that CoD4 has set the bar for anything, ONLY because CoD4 was basically the FIRST game related enough to what we're accustomed to in Socom that we all decided to give it a try. I say "first" because it wasn't like Gears or Warhawk where that was futuristic and it wasn't like Vegas where the online team play was very limited by our ("our" meaning typical accustomed Socom gamers) standards. CoD4 was the CLOSEST thing that came out on PS3 thus far that we all took a chance on and enjoyed (or some not enjoyed as much....). Thus far, I can't say that CoD4 itself has set any bar.....they're just one of the few first shooters on NEXT-GEN. Next-GEN set the bar and all games coming out on it are going to look great. In Socom, the game was laid out as we all like it. In CoD4, we've all been busy trying to make these map modes LIKE Socom, instead of CoD4 laying the game out like that for starters. I think in fairness, NO ONE has or can really set the bar until BOTH of these games are out on the same system....or, forgetting about Socom.....until a FEW games of the same present-day, military-shooter, clan/community-based online game comes out....because THEN we could look at both or all titles and clearly see, from those presented, who truly sets the bar. It could be CoD4 because Socom will fall flat on its face, or it could be Socom where it truly does bring it with this new title. But I don't know if any of us can truly say that a bar has been set anywhere until an equal comparison can be made. Thus far, we're all comparing one company's new offering on the PS3 to someone's older offering on the PS2. I like CoD4, and I'm anticipating Socom Confrontation. And when they're both out and both played, then I'll go ahead and take my side. I can't do that now because we're talking PS2s and PS3s here....apples and oranges.

Actually, APC just had its fourth get together where 8 of our gunners arrived in Chicago for 3 days and nights of fun. They came from Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, Miami and as far as Canada. Swift, thankfully this time WITH clothes on, showed up with a UF t-shirt from a previous tour. VERY cool of the guy!

Twisted Dark is barely the best for me. The other two have too much white on them, and it makes it blare out of my screen. The Twisted one has some white too, but seems a bit more muted. I like darker backgrounds with white lettering, like the UF forums, as it's easier on my eyes.

lol, same here. I'm not entirely sure if that was sarcastic or not. Never sure, since Demo ran with you OGC boys for a while and I think Wiz was always a fan of the man. But that's our typical response to that question. We mention there was a third, but we need not speak his name. Saying it usually either makes Sniper and I chuckle, or makes us puke...and I couldn't take that gamble that night of the interview. If it was or wasn't sarcastic, and it's fine if it was, we're not offended on this end. Quite frankly, we don't like the guy much.

You have no IDEA the extent to which I was trying to keep it together that night.

My thanks to all those who have sent me emails this past year... I must send my thanks to whoever sent me the one about rat poo in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet towel with every envelope that needs sealing. Also I now have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason. I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (penny brown) who is about to die in the hospital for 1.387,258th time. I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program. I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St Theresa's novena has granted my every wish. I no longer eat at KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers. I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day. Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes. Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains. I no longer can buy petrol without taking a man along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm filling up. I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me. I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica, Uganda, Singapore and Uzbekistan. Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my bum. And thanks to your great advice, I can't even pick up the $5 I found dropped in the car park because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab me leg. If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will land on your head at 5.00 pm this afternoon and the fleas from 12 camels with infest your back, causing you to grow a hairy hump. I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbour's ex mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician. Have a wonderful day!!! If you win, you just have to promise us ONE thing. That you don't go off your meds around Valentine's Day, get all depressed and go buy a bunch of guns to creatively express how ugly you feel inside like some of these other disturbed assholes at college. I think we've had enough of those to last us the next 20 years.
