I'm still here... haven't had the time to visit these forums in a while with college life being hectic.

wow, this thread took some reading! lol [>7<] brought me to UF, which I'm very thankful of. Met some really great guys there and was difficult decision to move on. Same with [sHO], loved everyone there, the craic was savage. There are some clans on Lasts first post that definitely bring back memories. Names I haven't heard in YEARS!! Imagine if all these clans were still active, this forum would be sooo busy, it'd be impossible to keep on top of. But then again, a lot of them disbanded, and their players joined other UF clans, so maybe everyones clan would be very small

thanks for the compliment, but im no writer. i in fact think im terrible at writing stuff lol but i write my own race reports for my race website, so maybe ive gotten into the habbit of writing in detail, describing a situation but not going over board. lol as i said on MSN at some stupid hour of the morning last night, thanks for bringing me in ;D Im gonna be with >7< for a long long time and this definitely won't be my last tourny. Bring on this monday night (ill be fairly wrecked though, as im racing this weekend). an honest answer to why i got up at 3am?... coz a) ive never been in any war before and wanted to see what it was like. IMO, its completely different to playing a normal online Hardcore game. You have meaning in UF. i wanted to help >7< do well and thought i could actually do this. To my surprise, they gave me the 'prestigious game bullet award' for my dedication and performance. chuffed with that. hahahaha ive done a lot of different things in my short life, but i won't stop until im one of the best at it. Soccer, Tae Kwon Do, Rugby, Show-jumping (i know i know, feck off! lol), lots of shit. Sorry for another long ass post any other newcomers to UF wanna share their experience of Monday night?
-
why thank you ;D got them made up last year when I was racing in the UK representing the Irish. Kept the same team colours for 2008.

I haven't seen a thread for any newcomers to Urgent Fury to post up a report and what they thought of their first war on Monday night so thought Id start this up. I'm a fairly new member of Rogue Seven [>7<] and we were away to DarkSyde [DSy] for our War. A little about me... I live in Dublin, Ireland (GMT = +6 hours to Central Time), I've been playing COD4 on my own for the past few months and I've never been in a proper clan before >7<. So this was also my first ever War in Urgent Fury. Tuesday, 8th April 2008 The kick off for our war with DSy for me was at 3am. Thought long and hard if I should just stay up for the game, or head to bed and set the alarm to get up for it. In the end, I played some Hardcore TDM games when I got home from work and went to bed shortly before midnight. I was so fricken excited, I was like a kid trying to get to sleep on Christmas Eve! (lol, Im 25 yrs old). Eventually got asleep and the alarm woke me up at 2.20am. Dragged my sorry ass outta bed and over to the PS3. With my voice all groggy, met up with everyone at the end of the clan practice before the war, where Command gave us our orders. "Don't be a target" Quickly scanned over the UF Crucible 2 rules again, and set up a couple of different classes with different guns, in case I wasn't doing as well as I'd hoped. Then the 8 of us just waited in the lobby chatting until our clan rep, Demon, got the invite from DSy's clan rep, Ace. Into the lobby we go, one by one. Gotta say, everyone was really friendly and cool. Not one bad word was said and we wished each other good luck before the 'loading map' screen came up. I was still pretty damn excited, but only now, some nerves were creeping in as I didn't know what to expect. All I knew is that I didn't wanna let my fellow friends & clan mates down. We spawned where we wanted to be and took up our positions awaiting the first gun to be fired. Can't remember which side, or who got the first kill, but my first kill was a headshot from across the map with my trusty G36C. DSy started putting pressure on us as we 'defended' our position, but we held them back long enough and we eliminated a few of there men in the process (9 lives per round). We then started to push forward and spread across the map. We took the round by the scruff of the neck and then heard the timer coming to an end before we got a chance to get more kills. Round over, and we won 600 - 410. WHAT A BUZZ!! Kept the chatter to a minimum in the intermission as we prepared ourselves for the 2nd and final round. Again, we spawned where we wanted (i dont know if there is a place we can spawn that doesn't suit lol) and took up our positions except Vassily. He doesn't have a mic as he's deaf, so I was trying to communicate with him through MSN. He didn't choose his team side quick enough, so didn't make it into the round. We knew we had a good lead coming into this round, and we didn't let that go to our heads. We knew what he had to do and we did it. Again, DSy started putting a lot of pressure on us picking us off with some great shooting. We held it pretty even throughout the battle and eventually the timer started ticking again. Round ends with a loss but only by a small margin. 400 - 470 Overall scores, 1000 - 880 in favour of [>7<] I was sooooo happy we'd won our opening match and me just being apart of it. I think this war alone has brought us closer together. Getting close to 4am at this stage, I said my goodbye and logged off so i could head back to bed. Up for work at 7am and a long tired day ahead. But it was definitely worth it. Had a big smile on my face all day. And now I can't wait for our next war tonight. Im gonna do the same again. Huge thanks to Demon, Playerdown, Skyna, Fuun, Vass, J-Rock, and Hell. Hope you guys had as much fun as I did. Also a big thanks to everyone else at >7< for making/being apart of this great family. I wish us continued success in the future. Thursday, 10th April 2008 Unfortunately our war last night turned out to be a no show by [FBR] so no war was fought. But I'm raring to go again on Monday night for our next scheduled war. Your friendly neighbour Predator, Aj out! [>7<] ajhutch69

another update for ya's ;D Full CoD4 Map Pack Descriptions March 26, 2008 Since details on the maps have been pretty scattered throughout the internet, I thought I’d give you guys a comprehensive breakdown of each map in the upcoming Variety Map Pack for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare along with some suggestions on gametypes, classes, and a few more screenshots to look over; all in one location. For those of you who don’t know, these maps will be hitting in April and will be 800 MS Points (same pricing for PSN). Along with the map pack will be a few minor changes to the game, including a tweak to Clan Tags to re-allow special characters. Individual DLC Map Descriptions: Broadcast Its size and alternating routes make “Broadcast†great for large team games. A large, multi-story television station with plenty of window vantage points creates the perfect setting for floor-to-floor combat. The station is surrounded by extensive outdoor areas consisting of a long parking lot, surrounding buildings with sniping hiding spots and side-rooftop access to the top and bottom floors of the television station. Creek A large wide open village in the woods, “Creek†consists of heavy foliage, great for sniper cover: a deep ravine offers an excellent vantage point for ambushes; an underground cave offers an alternate evasion route; and various multi-floor houses populate a patchwork of connected farmland. This extensive open map is great for snipers with plenty of natural coverage consisting of rocks and trees. There are various routes for advancement from both high and low vantage points over and underneath the hillsides. Another great map for large team games. Chinatown A modern revision of the classic Call of Duty “Carentan†map, “Chinatown†takes players to the foggy downtown district of a Chinatown. A night time setting, the cityscape is well lit by the full moon and the glow of brightly colored lanterns and neon lights from local businesses. This district offers a variety of open-street and interior settings, perfect for fire fights throughout the connected roads, courtyards, antique shops and markets within it. Great for all game types and players. Killhouse “Killhouse†is an enclosed warehouse made of plywood structures, mock-ups and speed-run courses used for training, creating the right mix of obstacles for small team games or free-for-alls with a variety of soft and hard cover points spread throughout the entire ground level
