Do a google search for "WiEX cell phone signal booster" or "cell phone Antenna Booster" you can boost signals within a home or office or you can boost signals within a vehicle by using car cell antenna's and you can replace your cell antenna with a larger higher gain antenna.. (not all models). But if its a dead zone.. created by interference from Radio wave traffic, high power transfer lines or microwave sub stations.. then you're screwed despite what verison says dead zones are just that DEAD.

No problem Irish.. Its easy if you realize that 1080i is actually two 540 signals interlaced... then you can see the progression from 480i to 480p to 540p X 2 (1080i) than 720p than 1080p. Its the reason older units that are 1080i are not as good as units that include 720p. 1080i is really 540p interlaced with another 540p in basic Rooster terms. Since the last firmware upgrade there has been numerous reports of HDMI signals freezing, black screens and spike head images (spikes sort of come out of one place and extend across the screen) Sony is denying any accountability.. speculation has even suggested it was done on purpose in order to create massive repair orders or entice customers to purchase new units. Out of warranted older 60gb models seem to be effected the most.. Despite Sony's initial claim of Ps3's being made with total upgradability.. there is no way to upgrade or replace the graphics chip without paying sony $190 for them to repair it. They always answer with "be sure the unit is well ventilated" even though you could stick it in front of a 3000 btu air conditioner and it will still foul up. $699 for a console that last only as long as its one year warrentee.. get two years and you're ahead of the game and if you treat it well and get it to last for three or more years.. well let's see it work when we force you to upgrade to our latest firmware. I can vouch for the spikeheads since I've been seeing them in my older 60gb model in many games since the last update.. I have no idea if any of that rest of it is true.. but I remember Sony is the company that thought placing virus type rootkits in every PC was a good way to stop people from pirating CD's. They got their ass sued for that one too.

The problem is the TV and how the Ps3 treats the up scaling and down scaling of 720p titles for TV’s that are only 1080i capable. If your set is older and only features 480i, 480p and 1080i the console will downsize the res. to 480p rather than 720p or the TV’s 1080i. for games. For newer video releases by their native res they are downsized from 1080p to 1080i however for games that the native is 720p as well as for older videos on DVD their native of 720p will not be up scaled by the Ps3 and instead are down scaled to 480. For me I prefer a 720p signal over that of 1080i. (For the Layman such as Rooster!!) The difference being that a 720p picture offers quicker refresh rates while 1080i offers more detail with stationary imagery. 720p is at 24 to 60 frames per second (progressive), while the 1080i signal is presented as two 540-pixel fields that when displayed back to back look like a complete image (interlaced) Just because your TV unit is 1080i doesn’t mean it is 720p as well. Many of the older models did not have progressive scan over a 480p res. 1080 interlaced came first, then 720 progressive than 1080 progressive. HDMI or component video cables don’t make a bit of difference. There is no diff in Video res between them, the only diff is the HDMI carries the audio signal as well. Two things to note.. 1) Sony is aware of the problem…. Here is what they have to say on it “It is not known yet if this is purely a software issue or a deeper technical problem and whether or not this lack of up scaling might be resolved on launch PS3 systems in future updates of the hardware via down loadable firmware patches.†(how many times have we heard this one?) 2) xBox 360 will upscale 720p games to 1080i for older sets such as yours.. So basically this all because your TV doesn’t really support 720 progressive even if it does support 1080 interlaced the Ps3 won’t upscale 720p to 1080i for you like the xBox will so it down scales to 480p instead. Answer: Get a new TV or buy an Xbox or sue Sony.. I’m about ready to since my console has began to overheat and get head spikes on the graphics.. the cheap ass piece of shit!!!

Overheating of the GPI on both the box and the ps3 was due to dramatically downsizing the heat sink on the graphics processor in order to fit into the cases. So of course “lets make a Ultra Slim model!†what’s wrong with the size it is now? In fact Make it BIGGER and put some better heat sinks and cooling fans in it!! no that’s not it.. lets make it slim and require fourteen inches of space around it for cooling.. yeah that’s the ticket! Americans might be rich fat and lazy according to the Japanese but Japanese worry more about looks than functionality according to me. I’d rather be fat lazy and Rich than slim tired and BROKE. LOL
