Standy for live coverage from the PS3 Press conference
Crusty_Demons replied to shane's topic in Playstation
Is that because the wii is still pretty much using the same hardware as the N64 did? The graphics on that thing are horrible.- 33 replies

Valve working on cross platform play between PC, Mac and PS3 for Portal 2 and maybe more.. http://www.thekartel.com/zylvin/blog/2010/06/17/valve_plans_to_have_cross-platform_co-op_between_ps3_and_pcmac_for_portal_2 Valve's Portal 2 presentation at E3 was packed full of gameplay videos showing off new features and an intriguing story line. While co-op gameplay wasn't shown, Valve developer Erik Johnson did reveal one new bit of info. Valve is planning to allow PS3 players play with PC/Mac players. When questioned on the cross-compatibility between Steamworks and Steam, specifically playing co-op on a computer with someone on a PS3, he said it was "something the team is gunning for." We also confirmed with Valve developer Mike Dunkle who said "The plan is you will be able to play between console and PC." What's interesting about this scenario is that it could theoretically be applied to any of Valve's online games, meaning the entire Orange Box and any other games on Steam and consoles. For Xbox 360 owners, we did inquire whether this was a possibility as well. Johnson commented that there are no current plans to bring Steamworks over to the Xbox 360, as ultimately the ball is in Microsoft's court.

MoH for me will be on ps3 but Crysis 2 i will go for PC most likely. oops That's what I meant. Crysis, Operation flash point, and Civilization are all PC games.. It's nice to see them try to bring them to the consoles but they feel like half a game on the console. Plus you get to buy from steam and in the short experience I have had with that place it is the greatest thing ever.

KZ 2 blew and I traded it in. I rarely ever trade in games if that tells you anything. I won't even bother with KZ 3. I will be playing games like S4, GT5 in 3d (which by the way finally got a release date 11/2/10 wanna talk about a system murder?) ;D , MOH, Crysis 2 for the PC and just about anything else that isn't KZ 3.

Here is game trailers walk through. !

Yeah pre alpha code has a tendency to do that. They should get things dialed in as time progresses.

Socom is a round based tactical shooter but has undergone some major changes with Confrontation and now S4. Comparisons would be it has a sprint button now. It's single player that's all they have at E3 but more info should be coming out later this summer regarding MP.

Wow dude that is horrible. Hope you are all safe and get things figured out soon.

Oh yeah!! Hopefully we'll hear from the Staff Members that went soon. Keep reading the blogs and tweets, they're LIVE from E3. Also keep your eyes out for some exclusive announcements, not just Urgent Fury announcements, but major game announcements through Urgent Fury as well Urgent Fury announcements that we'll be using the E3 event for. Sweet gotta love E3 week.

If UF let in every clan that thought they were gods gift to Socom then it would have to change it's name to game battles. Fact is UF is something different. It is a community of like minded gamers that want fair competition amongst several other things. Would UF like to have every clan that thinks it's gods gift to Socom...? Sure but at what cost? Is it worth it? My answer is no.
-
The treatment you are getting may be a little unbecoming of UF but you have already gone out of your way to crap on our lawn with your posts here and on Socom.com. What did you expect? The way I see it you had two options. 1: Take your denial like men and go through the proper channels to find out why 2: Show a complete disrespect for this place and it's members You appear to have chosen the second

im not disagreeing with you crusty, and i totally agree with your scenario. what i am asking is for a clear, defined list of violations. if this is going to be a means to disqualify eval teams, then at some point it will also be a way to call losses during tournaments. if i truly wanted to, i could say i felt every team i played in a tournament was using outside communication if i felt i was in a position nobody could find me. i hope you see my point. as far as this type of communication goes, if my brother and i are in the same clan, and we have 2 tv's in the same room, and that is our only means of game play, then is it illegal for both pf us to play in the same war? i can see his screen. he can turn around and tell me where he got shot from. but at the same time, your telling me a legal member of this site cannot play just because i am that night. i would just like some clear, distinct parameters set on this type of violation. I completely agree with you and I think your points are valid and should be addressed. I think this is where the honor part of UF has to come into play. It is a grey area in UF where those of us here who respect the UF motto have to fill in the gap. Being that it is impossible to prove makes things really difficult. This is why we are here though. The clans we are in/lead have to live by this code and not just put on a front for UF wars.
-
I'm obviously not staff but here goes nothing... I would say any of the above and add to it others like skype and team speak and probably about a thousand other things. The most recent topic that has referenced outside communication is regarding PSN chat. Yes it is impossible to prove but let me set the scenario if you will. An eval member is one of maybe two left alive he is hiding in a spot watching the bomb and a member of a clan that is in hell week runs for the bomb the eval member takes him down. About 10 seconds later a grenade falls right on said eval members head. As said before it is virtually impossible to prove but when it happens more than once and you have other things to combine it with the evidence starts to stack up.

You mean Kotaku right?
-
Some changes have been made to the eval team regarding the roster in order to try and fully staff the Socom hell week wars. Socom Confrontation is a dying game in my opinion and it's been tough to staff the wars. Better to have some extra members from an established UF clan that is in good standing than to have a late short eval team. You experienced both scenarios during your hell week but that didn't affect the overall opinions of the eval team. Your attempts to try and slander a highly respected and honorable member of this community [LPK] will get you nowhere. All they did was volunteer their time to try and give your clan a fair hell week. It is in their interest along with all of the rest of the clans here that more competition is brought in but the entire point of the eval team is to screen those clans to maintain the integrity of Urgent Fury. A lot of people come here thinking that their win loss ratio against the eval team is what is going to get them in when in fact that is a minuscule portion of why Urgent Fury conducts hell weeks. Good luck in your future endeavors.

http://kotaku.com/5561758/the-director-of-the-ps4-viral-clip-revealed?skyline=true&s=i Earlier this week, a mysterious viral clip appeared online. It was followed by another equally mysterious clip. Sony denied the clips were theirs. So, alright then, who made them? Meet Han West. He's a 24-year-old half-Chinese, half-American filmmaker, working on his Master of Fine Arts in Singapore at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts Asia. He directed both clips. That raises more questions than it answers: Why did he make the ads? West filmed the spots a few months back at the Tisch Asia's campus. "The PS4 spots were part of a commercials class I took in my last semester," West tells Kotaku. "In the class, we were required to make one viral ad and one more 'polished' commercial." He picked Sony, because he was a fan of their ads. He picked the PS4, because it was unreleased, providing fertile ground for imagining commercials. The first viral ad was the first clip. Using the facilities at Tisch, he was able make the spot in four hours for US$20 — the cost of the lab coat. And the second one was the more "polished" spot, which took 12 hours to shoot. It cost $500, which was the price it cost to construct the set. All of the actors in both ads are Tisch students. And he never imagined that these two spots, which he filmed for class, would garner so much attention. When the viral spots hit, Kotaku followed up with Sony, but Sony would neither confirm or deny the clips. A Sony spokesperson did tell GameInformer.com: "I can confirm that this video is not from SCE [sony Computer Entertainment]." In an age of camouflage marketing, PR doublespeak and viral ads, Kotaku did have its suspicions. Perhaps, Han West is doing marketing for them? Or perhaps he is part of some larger viral ad? This is part of the game? Very clever! "I haven't been contacted by Sony," he asserts Kotaku. "I made these spots for my class." He is not a professional marketer, he says. This is a guy, a film student, who loves game ads, and wanted to make his own. "I have been a big fan of gaming commercials for a long time," says West. "Gaming studios are some of the few clients out there that are really willing to take big chances (and sometimes spend serious money) on their spots." Part of the reason they do this, West believes, is "because gamers are probably the most demanding consumers out there." Gamers, West notes, have high expectations, high standards and are exceptionally perceptive. "This is partially why I was a little scared to even put this stuff out on the net — I was afraid I was going to get torn to shreds!" With graduation looming, West decided to upload the clips on YouTube, see what kind of reaction they got and hopefully drum up enough interest to get him actual directing work. The initial reaction was lukewarm, then it spread like wildfire. West was surprised, elated, and then started getting nervous when the ad snowballed into Sony PR having to separate the clips from their company. "I don't think they damaged the PlayStation," he says. That certainly wasn't his intention. The pre-E3 timing appeared ripe. And while it seemed highly unlikely that Sony would be releasing the PS4 any time soon (something Kotaku pointed out in our initial coverage), the spots were so well done, so slick, that they actually appeared like something Sony could possibly make, but ultimately did not. Viral or not, trying very hard to come up with recent game ads that are arresting as these two spots West made. Just think what this guy could do if he had more than $520 and a couple hours on set.

Congrats Tool

Yeah could be anything is possible in youtube land. There are some really creative/talented people on there.

I think with Confrontation being pretty much dead for the most part and it being summertime activity is pretty low. We'll see what happens in the coming months.

I wish I lived in the time where kids had enough respect to not walk all over someones lawn. It's not a new style it dates back to the 90's. It may be a style but it is not typically conducive to a successful career or life. I don't care so much how other people dress since it has no affect on me of course that's not the case here with the OP. In this particular case the man was harassed by the ass of someones pants. If your pants are so big they are covering half of the seat next to you then that is just retarded. The type of women that are looking for successful men are not looking for any that have pants that can double as a parachute.

Now that's the kind of parenting I'm talking about. ;D
