  1. We only had 6 people commit from our clan. (And the $25 entry fee has nothing to do with it as I have the $ sitting in our clan pay-pal acct.) Everyone is so busy and really losing interest in CoD. From what I understand, we have had a very hard time staffing the current Crucible matches. Everyone is telling me that they want to wait until the new Socom comes out before committing to any more tournaments. So, looks like AoV will be sitting this one out. I was looking forward to it, but I can't say much ... I haven't played CoD in a couple of months. I'm not even on the roster for Crucible. Life has not left much time for gaming lately. Hopefully that will all change by September.

  3. True! Lest everyone forget the text message incident?
  4. Ya Tony won at Watkins Glen once while throwing up on himself. And when you're buckled in like that, there's no where to go. The only one I have about a in war incident, we were in the pre-war lobby and one of my guys chirps in with, "hey gotta go, cops are at the door, something about my brother..." all were alive, but definetly in TROUBLE, lol Andawg, was that a war against us when our tag was HIT? If it wasn't, then I remember the exact same thing happening in a war we were in one night.
  5. We hear ya! See you in the game.
  6. Well, if you need another "specific cause," I have one for you. There is a little boy, Ethan Powell, who for the last year had been fighting leukemia at St. Jude's in Memphis. (Many colleges/universities in the south held bone marrow drives for this little boy to find a marrow match.) On Saturday, he lost his battle with cancer. If you go to his website http://www.ethanpowell.com, you can read from the beginning his parent's daily updates about his battle. I followed his progress daily and it is truly a miracle that he lived as long as he did and survived the battles along the way. He underwent a treatment that only 8 other children had undergone and died from. Through the power of prayer, this child lived through this treatment not once, but twice! Incredible story. Even if a fundraiser tourney in his honor is not ideal, maybe people will visit the site, learn about Ethan and his family and donate to St. Jude's on their own time.
  7. Tow, you FREAK! LOL
  8. Awww h*ll. Here we go. Good luck everyone.
  9. I'm gonna give this a try. Here's a couple that I came up with. But, I'm guessing you have something very specific in mind.
  10. Awww, that's mean guys! Just remember you always get what you give ...
  11. The hat says: Insane
  12. Well, am I correct on the hat???
  13. The hat says NIKE.
  14. Can Undertow answer the question as to what is on the hat if we ask him or is that cheating? I looked up the picture of the hat, but can't tell anything further than FU.
  15. 11 (This probably isn't right because all I did was count the cards. But I'm giving it a try anyways.)
  16. So if I'm understanding this correctly, you are wanting all clans who have participated in any UF tournament and not just from the very beginning? If so, poor smoke forgot ... (And if I could find some kind of paint around here, I'd be getting me those 55 points! Lol!) 17. When you don't know any different ... it was great fun. Seriously! NO DOUBT! And it's a damn crying shame too. I've never seen so many spoiled, disrespectful ingrates in my life! Generally speaking that is. I know that there are some decent young 'uns out there but they are certainly NOT the norm, from my experience. What's even scarier, kids these days aren't afraid of anything or anyone. When I was growing up, we didn't act stupid because even if my parents weren't around to catch me, my friends parents might be and that was just as bad. And the lack of respect is mind boggling! Even something so simple as saying yes ma'am/sir and no ma'am/sir is just unheard of. I'm doing my part though, trying to raise my children the way I was raised. My 5 1/2 year old DEFINITELY uses his yes/no ma'ams/sirs! And everytime he says that, I am so proud of him for being such a respectful little man!
  18. Well, I have mixed "emotions" on this one. If we are talking about kids, then ultimately, it's a parents job to rear their children in a way that all of the bad things of which Tow speaks does not happen. My 5 1/2 year old would play video games or watch T.V. all day if I let him, but I don't. It's that simple. When it's a nice day out, I kick his rear outside and tell him he needs to play outside. Just the other day, his little friend was over after school and they wanted to be inside playing video games and I would not let them. I MADE them play outside. After a few minutes of protest, the boys realized that I wasn't going to give in and then went out to play, had a lot of fun, and never asked to play video games the rest of the afternoon. The problem is that the way we parent our children has dramatically changed. There are many times when I am left wondering who is in charge ... the parent or the child. And it seems quite often that the children are in charge. For whatever reason, parents are taking the easy way out these days and giving into their child's every whim or letting children raise themselves, resulting in alot of brats who have no respect for parents, themselves, authority, life, etc. Our values as a society are rotting and it's starting to show. For instance, I find it completely INSANE that my family is the only family that I know of (considering my close friends and family) that actually sits down to the dinner table every night for supper!?! I don't understand being so busy that families don't sit down and have supper together?? Ok, sorry to go off on a rant there, but you get my point. Parents need to be raising their children with a healthy balance and if parents do this, then things like Home shouldn't be a problem. When I was growing up, every night I would talk on the phone to friends. So I can see allowing your older children to use Home in place of the phone to chat with their friends. Basically what I am saying here is that I can see and be ok with a different technology being used the same way that I used the telephone when I was a kid. Now being an adult who enjoys gaming, I see Home as being a really fun way to have those tacmap tourney meetings every Sunday night, or clan meetings, etc. How cool would it be to go into an Urgent Fury "lounge" with UF stuff all over the walls and lay down some serious war challenges? Sounds fun to me. And I agree, you will have those people who will go over the top with this, but I think those people are going to be people who already have "issues" and if it's not Home they are obsessed over then it would be something else. I certainly don't think that a "normal" person is going to all of a sudden become a shut-in and live their life through Home. Ok, I am tired of typing and my thoughts are starting to jumble, so I'll leave it at that.

  20. You're right CpDude. Used it all the time on the older forum skin.
  21. I really hope this is true! I LOVE SOCOM. I don't game near as much as I used to because I'm not playing Socom. (CoD is ok, but it sure isn't Socom. And I still can't get real used to the first person thing.) I CAN'T WAIT FOR A NEW SOCOM TACMAP TOURNEY!
