  1. Damn, I can't find the article now, but over the weekend a story popped up saying the MWC had invites to Kansas and someone else to also join. Then today there is the story about Texas trying to save the 12 with new TV deals. Guess we will have to wait to see the ending of this story.
  2. Man, did this thread go to hell in a hurry. Nade. Like Puddy stated, outside comms are virtually impossible to prove. However, a few of your gunners must have forgotten about proximity mics. There were a few instances it was plainly audible on proxy, one of your gunners asking, "Where did he kill you from?" One of the instances was witnessed by an ADMIN for eval wars. Now maybe they are roomates and were sitting next to each other. We don't know that. Had you taken a different approach, this might have been resolved easily. As far as keeping you out for being too good? That is completely unfounded. If that were the case a few clans here that usually dominate would be gone. UF WANTS highly capable clans as much as anyone else, but not at the expense of a trustworthy group. How would you have reacted to a dispute during a tournament? From your posts here, it would have been a big argument. I have seen multiple clans here get themselves DQ'd, because they knew it was the right thing to do. THAT is the type of clan we want playing here. You are mad that a few guys were called out for being in cheat clans in the past. While normally that wouldn't carry much weight, when you couple it with the fact of outside comms, then heap on that you openly slam any clan you deem "shitty", on PS forums and it all adds up to a bad taste in peoples' mouth. Any one of the things that happened probably wouldn't have kept you out by itself, but adding them all together makes most of the guys here question your integrity as a clan. You have to understand, that Joe nor I can keep you out of UF because we are Staff and feel like it. All we do is listen to what the community wants. That is why EVAL is made up of multiple clans and not just Staff. It's their tournament site, and they have as much a right as anyone to know about the clans coming in. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
  3. I was alking around in Thieves Landing last night. Strolled past a hooker and she says to me, "I sure hate to see a man with a dry pecker, let me moisten that up for ya." I laughed for a long time at that one.
  4. While you have valid points, TooL and ToW. I'm not sold on that being the case. There are plenty of games and their sequels out that are just as good as the original. It just seems like the two games most of US play the most are the ones that keep being shit on. While I like quite a few of the new features to Socom, and MW, it seems like they halfassed the important stuff to give us the glitz. I don't want them to re-vamp Socom2 or MW1, I want the new stuff, while FIXING the stuff that was broken to begin with. As of everything I've seen so far, I'm excited to see Socom 4. I'm not going to whine about what has been announced, I'll wait until I play the game to see if they've worked out the previous issues.
  5. +1 We'll be here when you get back man. GOOD LUCK!!
  6. Not true. It depends on what he's coating the paper with. I'm guessing an epoxy or a resin? That would handle one shot. On one of the video's he made a rifle type bullet with a piece of lightweight copper and solder. The Shotty rounds look very much like they are paper though. The wadding is definitely cardboard.
  7. There was one here, but it went out of business. Not enough advertisement. It was dark and dingy, and they tried catering to mostly pc guys. Not to mention the guy running their tournaments didn't have a clue what he was doing. I went once about two months before they closed their doors. I think they were open for about 18 months.
  8. No, that is the pic of Janet when she got fat. Right before her last tour, she had to lose all sorts of weight. I still love Janet. ;D
  9. That is why I can't believe "gangsters" adopted it. Maybe wanna be's, but the real clowns that shoot at people for stupid shit.
  10. I think he is just talking about Socom 2 itself, so you can play it on the PS3. Not make the new one like Socom 2. You know, how they have been putting ps2 games in the store with upgraded graphics. I would like to play some S2, I just don't want to have to dig out the ps2 to do it.
  11. I am loving this thread!! Nice topic, Tow.
  12. The CBS website used to have the episodes within a few hours of the show. I don't know if they still do, I haven't had to watch them there for awhile.
  13. Yes I can. I have used the quick scope, that's why I think it is hinky. You can claim all you want that it takes skill, but it's just timing. As for no-scoping, you won't change my mind. Until I see someone doing it in person, I'll believe it's cheating. A random, lucky no-scope is one thing, but the frequency it happens in game negates that entirely, in my eyes. CDBS, not once did I complain about it. I know it's part of the game, and you won't hear me bitching about it in a pubby room. I simply don't care enough for it to get to me. As far as you claiming I have not looked into it. Know the facts first. I do the majority of glitch research on MW2 for UF. I browse so many glitching sites, I feel like a dirty cheater. I KNOW just how many real glitches and cheats are used in MW2. Like I said earlier though, I don't complain about it. Hell, I don't even complain about lag. It's just a fact of online gaming, and there isn't anything you can do about it anyways. I haven't taken posts in the past as personal attacks at all, but you have pissed me off a few times. It's because I'm the type of guy that will tell the ref I stepped out of bounds on the kickoff return, if he didn't see it, I'm not so sure you would own up to it. Alot of your posts on these type of threads almost advocate using borderline tactics. You know, the whatever it takes mentality. That's just not my style. AAAAARGHH. I wish smf would fix the damn issue with long replies not scrolling properly! >
  14. I am of the opinion that no-scope is. MY personal opinion. I just don't believe that people can no-scope like that without aids. IMO, it is most likely the red dot on your TV thing. Until I see someone in person doing it, I can't believe anything else. No crosshairs at the distances most people do it is just hinky. As far as the "quick" scope, I dunno about it being too legit either. Seems like a game flaw to me. More or less you tap zoom at someone and pull the trigger and it just hit's them 98% of the time? Bah. But until the devs directly say something or fix it, it's the way it is. Both situations suck and will be argued about forever. Not able to police it in tournaments. Can't know that either one is really legit. It just sucks. UF clans tend to police themselves fairly well though, so if a clan were abusing it, word will get around. Nobody that I know of wants to play with guys that stretch every boundary they can "within the rules".
  15. That's a cool idea, Shadow. We have an arcade too, and usually it's just a bunch of us trying to beat each others scores for the hell of it.
  16. About an 1 1/4".
  17. Not so. Turning the sensitivity to low leaves you at a disadvantage. Especially on FPS games where the twitch rate is most important. I Like them most for comfort. But having your sensitivity/look speed al lthe way up and being able to control it better is a plus.
  18. Those bastards! They also cancelled My Name is Earl. I don't think I'l lwatch NBC much at all anymore beyond SNL. :-[
  19. my fav when i was a kid was my optimus prime gorilla version most def heres a version of it mine was black and blue and shot a disc from its shoulder ;D idk how many times i shot my teachers with that thing ;D LOL. That is priceless!! Dude won't let you hijack his pic.
  20. LOL. He is a little flaky!!! Everything he tried to implement in Oakland was shot down by the "boss" though. Look at Chucky, built a winning team and the "boss" pissed him off, and ran him outta town too. SHit, every damn coach we've had in years that might have been worth a damn, left because of disagreements with that douche.
  21. That is what made me try them out. It helped perfectly. No more cramps, aiming is much better, easier to control look speed. I would recommend them to anyone. The only drawback, is they will wear a groove on your controller since they hang down a bit past the analog. Other than that, GET THEM.
  22. It was helped along by AL, crusty. That's one of the biggest reasons Lane Kiffin left. He wanted to diciple guys like JR more, and Al wasn't having it. Same situation now with Cable. I'm sure it is insanely frustrating to have to cater to a guy like that because the owner over rules you all the time. The only reason I didn't like the Morrison trade was that they didn't get what he was worth IMO. They will be just fine at LB without him, but they should have gotten much more for him. As far as WR, they definately are still lacking, but are getting better. Hard for young guys to get better when there isn't a veteran WR for them to turn to. For the record: Zach Miller > Cooley. Zach is one of the best TE's in the league. If he were on a better team, he would always be in the Pro Bowl. That guy is pure money.
  23. I meant that Leaf came out of college heralded as a very good QB. Everyone in the draft knew that JR was a "project" QB. Big arm and little else, especially work ethic. The ONLY reason JR went #1 or even in the top 10 is because AL davis is a douche. If I remember correctly, no scout even had JR in their top 5 qb's that year.
  24. No way is he in the same league as Ryan Leaf. I agree with the article that JR simply lived down to expectations. Ryan Leaf was supposed to be a savior. LOL
  25. WOOT! It's about time. Dude was weighing in over 300lbs again in the offseason. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/JaMarcus-Russell-cut-by-Raiders-Is-he-biggest-d?urn=nfl,239300 Three years after being selected with the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, JaMarcus Russell(notes) is out of a job. The Oakland Raiders cut the quarterback on Thursday after a disappointing tenure in which the former LSU star earned $36 million to lead the team to a 7-18 record as a starter. Reports indicated that Russell was tipping the scales at 300 pounds during the offseason, well above the 255 he supposedly weighed when he was selected in 2007. Ask anyone in the NFL to describe Russell and it wouldn't be long before the word "lazy" was peppered into the conversation. That, coupled with the recent addition of former Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell(notes), made Russell expendable, so the Raiders made the only logical move and released him. In doing so, did JaMarcus Russell become the biggest draft bust ever? Though his resume of incompetence can stand up next to anyone's, we're going to hold off on putting JaMarcus on the top of the list for one reason: His failure surprised no one. Generally, it's not a good sign when work ethic and weight are a major concern for scouts. One scouting profile wrote the following about Russell prior to the 2007 draft: "At maximum growth potential and any more weight will affect his quickness ... His weight needs to be monitored, as he will lose some of his agility when he hits the 260-pound range." The questions about laziness were more whispered, but the point is the same. People saw this coming. He was a guy with a big arm, tremendous upside and a lot of college success who happened to be at the top of a fairly-weak draft class. Somebody had to go No. 1 and because Al Davis needed a quarterback and loves athletic football players, Russell was that guy. He was a No. 1 pick by default. Russell joins Tim Couch(notes), David Carr(notes) and Alex Smith as other quarterbacks whose lack of success puts them in the "biggest bust ever" argument even though their expectations were more a function of draft positioning rather than an excess of talent. In short, they weren't Peyton Manning(notes). Tony Mandarich, Reggie Bush(notes) and, to a degree, Michael Vick(notes) are different cases. They were each going to revolutionize the league but failed to have nearly as much impact as anticipated. They are the true busts. JaMarcus Russell merely lived down to expectations
