  1. This is a tragedy and my prayers go out to the families affected. I use to work with Dion Terres when I was with Motorola. I worked side by side with him for 3 months, nice quiet guy, was always polite and we generally had normal conversations. I moved to Network Administration and hadn't seen him for a while. I went in to work one day to hear Dion shot up the Kenosha McDonalds and killed a few people then himself. He left a video behind saying that he was going to go back to Motorola and shoot his old Sup. You just never know who may snap or is capable of doing something like this. Although I did read a report while in college that there were never any shootings like this before the chemical treatment era that we are now in for kids.
  2. I think the biggest issue is that this could have been prevented. Why was the response time so long? My dad is a retired commander, I understand that they cannot be everywhere all the time BUT you have a 911 emergency with a guy with a shotgun getting ready to be a vigilantly and there are no cops to be found? I think that needs to be looked in to more. What kind of response time if it was a school shooting? These are the questions I would be asking. He was wrong, he should have reported everything he saw to the dispatcher and stayed inside. If they went in to his house that would have been a different story.
  3. You could have built it yourself with the same specs for a lot less. I have personally had bad experiences with Alienware laptops but I have not had any experiences with desktops so I guess that is a good thing since I am the one usually repairing PCs. Dell isn't too bad for small businesses or school districts because you get the same product across the board. BUT if you are a gamer or even just a personal user you want to build yourself to give yourself some room to upgrade. Motherboards will fry out or you may just want to upgrade your CPU which may meaning replacing your motherboard and that is where you want a good case. I just built a friend a PC, NON GAMER, tower, power supply, motherboard, 2GB RAM, 320GB HDD SATA, 3.0Ghz CPU 4MB cache, 19" widescreen flatscreen, DVD DL burner and XP PRO for about $700. Video cards are going to hit you in the wallet but she didn't need one, non gamer. BUT if I wanted to I could upgrade hers very easily.
  4. Norton retail sucks BUT Norton Server is very good! Retail hogs system resources which slow the crap out of your PC. Windows Defender is free and does a very good job for spyware. With any anti-virus make sure the definitions are up to date. That is a common Trojan and should be cleaned fairly easily. My stepson just got that infection but the ones that are a bitch are the ones where the spyware have the pop ups saying your PC is infected and won't go away. He just got the virus and spyware issue all in the same day. The spyware actually put an image as the desktop that overlapped and was a clickable image. If I wasn't an IT manager and known what to do I would have been screwed.
  5. The graphics are great. I agree with Tow in how the little things make it, like when you shoot someone in the head and their helmet goes flying. Or in the "One shot, One Kill" mission if you get a head shot you also get the guy behind him in the nuts. The online is a blast to play even though it is open mic which sucks in the lobby. But the fast action and better then Socom hit detection makes it pretty addicting. There are issues with sniper rifle shots not registering but that can be fixed. I love getting a string of knife kills online. I had 7 in a row in one match.
  6. If I remember correctly you have to use a USB drive and it has to be in the first or second USB port. I will have to see how good the patch is before I purchase the map pack. Rumor has it that the patch fixed some cheating issues as well as glitch.
  7. I think it is a little to late, they waited to long and are now going to have to wait for confrontation to see any of my money again.
  8. I read about this too and I also read that people that have actually used it in the real world hated it. My question to everyone is, does it give the user a distinct advantage using a FragFX over a PS3 contoller?
  9. I played in a couple private matches and my exp points counted. hmmm.
  10. If it is private don't they have to be invited?
  11. I would agree with Tow's initial review. The Lobby has to be better then what it is! I don't mind the open mic but most of the time it has been friends on my team so we don't have the childish crap BUT how can the forget to have a MUTE function!!!? that to me is inexcusable! Game play is a blast and you can get use to the 1st person but it will take a little time to get in to the flow.
  12. Blu-Ray does have the capacity of 100GB, but how much do they use on their movies..? ("NO WHERE NEAR THAT!!") Not to mention if they ever get close to using most of the 100GB, it will be because of the extras (special features) NOT the quality.. so what is it about "100GB" that really makes you think it is such a big difference..? (it is minimal ..lol) Like I said wait until the new resolutions come out and see how much space those take in terms of data. I believe it was Toshiba that announced the next resolution past 1080P, I am not positive but wasn't it in the 1200 range? The more they pack in the more space will be needed and that is where Blue Ray has the advantage. I am not basing this on the fact that I have a PS3 I am being realistic. I remember when a 27MB HDD was HUGE! Now they are getting in to TB HDDs for residential use! The space IS going to be needed and HD DVD just doesn't have what it takes to keep up with the changes.
  13. Unfortunatley it is not just Sony and Microsoft that are involved and with the growth of the digital era the need for more space is just a side effect. You can now get a 500GB HDD for $110 to tell you how it is going. The reason it is HD DVD exclusive is not because of Microsoft either, it is the creator - producer of the movie. They have decided which format they are going to go with and they are sticking with it. It still looks good as a DVD on PS3 as stated earlier but I would love to see it from a Blue Ray. Dude, you missed my point entirely. In the end Bluray and HD DVD are pretty much the same shit. I mean lets go back a few years.. When the majority of house holds had VCR's, had they said.. we're exlusively releasing this on DVD.. they you'd be forced to upgrade.. thats fine. (becasue there is a huge advantage to having the dvd version over the vhs) But in this case, both blue ray and hd dvd have minimal differences between the two.. which is what im the most pissed about. Same shit, different name. I didn't miss the point and you are WAY off if you think they are the same with different names. Blue-Ray has 100GB capacity UNCOMPRESSED where HD-DVD is NO WHERE NEAR THAT!! That is not minimal!!! In terms of putting out 1080P then yes they are the same but when the next output comes out, Blue Ray will be able to handle the extra space required, HD DVD won't.

  15. Flyers Fan ALL THE WAY BABY!!! I saw Pelle play at the old Spectrum!!! I also met Dave the Hammer Shultz and have a Perant signed puck with Cert. I took my son and gf out to Philly in 2000 and took him to his 1st NHL game on Oct 31st against the Devils. The Flyers won and in ALL the NHL games I had ever been to I had never seen a Penalty shot until that night. Langkow got it and that place went NUTS! My #2 team is the Blackhawks. I went to a bunch of games at the old barn and it was incredible. You couldn't hear them sing the national anthem they cheered so much. I have gone to every Flyers game in Chicago for the past 12 years. I love hockey!
  16. when I was living in Australia the Ford Falcon was the most seen car on the road. My mom's boyfriend had one and that was what I learned to drive in, no ps or pb but it had some balls!
  17. As much as I would love this to be true I say BS. Here is why "A friend of my cousin works for SCEA" Isn't always a friend of a friend of my cousin's sister's brother?
  18. I currently have a 2000 Wrangler sport, no mods yet. I am going to put a 4" lift on it. I had a '90 258 Straight Six and a '91 4.0. All of them have had 6 Cyl, 5 speed and the only one I took off road was the '90. That 258 was AWESOME! I should have never let it go, DAM ex-wife!
  19. That is also a very good observation. BUT we would need to know how it works before we assume it takes a noticeable amount.
  20. I don't know who you are commenting on about being a fan boy but if it is me you are far off. I buy what I think is a better product, I don't care who makes it. I like the feature, I think it is a great idea. I just want to know how it is going to work.
  21. I would assume that you would have to have an HDD for this function. Not all 360's have a HDD where at least a PS3 does. But how much space on the HDD would this take up? What format is it going to record and can you transfer? I agree this would be an awesome feature for Socom.
  22. SCREW THAT, I like Pineapple but MAKE ME A REAL PHILLY CHEESESTEAK!! LOL
  23. Gene Roddenberry already dreamed this up, just like the flip phone. Food replicator. Although no one has actually created one yet I am sure the idea is probably already pantented. LOL
  24. That is why I posted this. Is it true, is it some wacko spewing false information? I agree that with the technology we should be able to find out but in the same breath it is that easy to cover it up too. I know a few of the people here in UF are ex military and served or still serving in Iraq, what do they see? That was the purpose of the original post. I don't believe everything on TV but obviously there are things that are truthful.

    Rep Ya State!

Born in IL, Currently in WI. WI SUCKS!!!! To tell you how boring it is Kenosha has the most bars per capita in the US. There is almost a bar on every corner. They even have drive through liquor stores! Then aside from the bars there are miles and miles of corn fields! IF you don't hunt or drink you are screwed in WI. I have lived in Cherry Hill NJ, Armore PA and Sydney Australia. Obviously I would rather be in Sydney but in the US I would rather be in Philly. So much to do and so many places around Philly to go and have fun.
