I read an article earlier that stated Blue Ray can go up to 100GB with just a firmware update, no hardware update needed. I will see if I can find it. http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/11374.cfm So I wonder if they had to go to a quad layer disc if it would increase the cost. But at least all we would have to do is update our firmware.

I heard a rumor that the majority of people that have issues have it in the vertical position. RUMOR I have a launch PS3 and a new 40GB, both laying down but there is a difference and it may make a difference. On the launch version there are vent holes by the HDD, this MAY be why some are having issues with overheating. If you stand it up vertically those holes would somewhat be blocked. Just speculation on my part but a possibility. Now I have never heard my PS3 fans kick on, I have it in a wide open area and I clean it on a regular basis.

That wouldn't be a smart business decision by Sony then now would it. Let XBOX owners use Blue Rays in a new XBOX version or make them buy a PS3? I would think Sony would want people to buy the PS3, wouldn't you? I don't hate the XBOX, I just don't trust it. If they didn't have the failure rate it would be a nice console but it is taking a chance for that kind of investment.

Ps3 has a controller charging station....doesn't it Regardless, I don't know 360 controllers charge, you can charge your PS3 controller off any USB port, laptop, PC, PS3 or standalone charger and play with it at the same time. PS3 has been out a year, that is why I am optimistic, in another year when the developers start to utilize the power we will see some serious games. I heard that most games now still only use about 20% of the PS3 capabilities.

Wii is strictly a party gaming system. What I mean by this is if you have a bunch of people over it is perfect. It is fun and that is what it is meant to be. XBOX - I don't hate the XBOX but I have a problem with a system that has the failure rate that the 360 has. For electronics 3% failure rate is the norm but from what I have read the 360 is in the 43% range, to me there is to much risk. If they were in that 3% range I might have gotten one. AND they still have not solved the issue, in a recent conference their demo did the ring of death. Not good. PS3 - I have had all three systems. I wanted the PS3 from the original announcement just on what the possibilities are. The PSN isn't where I would like it to be yet. If they charge to get to that point I wouldn't mind it. I know it is a little difficult to develop games for the cell at this point so the library isn't where I want it either. Both have pluses and minuses but I think the future of the PS3 looks better at this point. Especially with the Blue Ray win.

just remember you get what you pay for in this case. No pun intended. I went cheap on a couple of external enclosures and it cost me in the long run. I have gotten 2 different versions of the Nextar series and have not had one issue.

He is and I am sure he would appreciate it. I didn't know they are/were changing their requirements. In WI they seem to be getting harder. After this incident where the cop killed 5 people and himself I am sure they will be looking at making it even harder, at least on the psych exams. Again, I know there are bad cops out there. I know there is racial profiling (not by all), hell I got on a plane the first day after the airports were reopened after 911 and I couldn't help but look at every single person on that plane to see if I thought anyone was a threat. Who wouldn't have? I don't consider myself racists in any way shape or form but I couldn't help but stereotype and keep an eye on a person I perceived could be a threat. With the media (movies, TV, music) these kids that dress like the gangsters from the movies are just asking to be looked at that way. They want to give off a perception that they are tough (or even that they are gangsters), well guess what, you are giving off that perception to EVERYONE including the police. You don't want to be treated like a thug by the cops then don't dress like one and act like one.

hmmm..... where to start... My step father is a retired cop, 30 years. He served in the Marines, 2 stints in NAM. He was also a commander in NIPAS (SWAT) and graduated top of his class from Quantico (FBI for those that don't know). Now some may think I am biased but he was a DAM GOOD COP! Did he have a degree? No, but his experience and training was among the best provided by anyone in the world! I don't know where you live but in IL and WI you are required to have a degree within 5 years of date of employment. If you want to be a State officer you have to have a Bachelors before your start date. Don't get me wrong, there are bad cops out there but the media and/or uneducated people that don't realize what cops are put through on a daily basis tend to stereotype all as bad cops. My step father had his beeper with him 100% of the time and every time that thing went off my mom would just break down. Every time a cop pulls someone over he is risking his life. Think about how you or your family would be with that kind of stress! The majority of fatal incidents are simple traffic stops. He did teach me one thing that I will NEVER forget. If a cop pulls his/her weapon and fires, there are no such things as warning shots or shots to the legs to slow down the person. It is fired to KILL PERIOD! You put a cop in that position you deserve what you get.

What do you mean a patch for snipers? There is an issue where sniper shots don't register as well as accuracy with the ACOG scopes. The XBOX patch has been released to MS for cert but the Sony patch isn't done by IW yet but supposedly is right behind the MS patch.

That is ALWAYS a tough question. Usually there is not a lot you can say without ruining your friendship. Maybe just drop subtle hints that she could do better. Or maybe just kick his ass and set him straight. But other then that, if she is in love, there are not a lot of choices.

That is all they talked about on the radio today. I didn't watch it and am really not interested in watching some dumb ass politicians ask stupid questions on something that really isn't that important with all the other shit going on in this country. But I agree with Seq, what does he have to gain? Unless Clemons PROVES he is telling the truth I think it messes with his chances at the HOF. He needs a trial now to say "see I didn't lie" if found not guilty.

I have a server with 2003 Enterprise that I have all my media on. Then use Simple Center to stream it through the PS3, sounds great. Games Movies Will be putting an OS on it when I get time.

Flyers pretty much went 0-8 against EVERYONE last year! LOL They were HORRIBLE! From worst to first, hopefully Gagne will get healthy and have a strong run in the playoffs. The Mullarchuck incident was REALLY bad too. The booth guys were telling the camera men to not show it.
