  1. Whats wrong with the BEAST? Good stuff. People would be amazed at what they would drink when the funds are low. Used to be we could get Keystone Black for $5-$6 per case. You'll drink what you have money for and like every drop of it. ;D
  2. MILWAUKEE (Aug. 1) - It's the beer that made Milwaukee famous. Now Schlitz is making the city nostalgic. That beer with the old-time mystique is back on shelves in bottles of its original formula in the city where it was first brewed more than a century and a half ago. Schlitz was the top-selling beer for much of the first half of the 20th century. But recipe changes and a series of snafus made the beer -- in many a drinker's opinion -- undrinkable, turning what was once the world's most popular brew into little more than a joke. But after decades of dormancy, the beer is back. Schlitz's owner, Pabst Brewing Co., is recreating the old formula, using notes and interviews with old brew masters to concoct the pilsner again. The maker of another nostalgic favorite, Pabst Blue Ribbon, it hopes baby boomers will reach for the drink of their youth, otherwise known as "The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous." They also want to create a following among younger drinkers who... more
  3. GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Brett Favre will be reinstated and added to the Packers' active roster Monday. And at that point, it looks like the fun will start. Team president Mark Murphy said in a statement Sunday that the team has a specific plan with Favre in camp that it won't reveal until Monday, but sources told ESPN's Wendi Nix that coach Mike McCarthy will announce he's holding an open competition for the starting quarterback position. Favre's reinstatement, announced by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Sunday, will become effective at 1 p.m. ET Monday. His first practice will likely come Tuesday. "Brett will be in camp tomorrow. Although there has been uncertainty regarding Brett's return, Ted Thompson and Coach McCarthy had previously discussed this and have had a plan in place," Murphy said in the statement. "Coach McCarthy will talk to the team and the quarterbacks about the plan moving forward, and after he has done that we will share it publicly. Goodell had held off on granting Favre's request for reinstatement for nearly a week. He hoped Favre and the team could resolve their standoff. By reinstating Favre, Goodell is following through on a recent promise to force action. Earlier Sunday, Favre's agent, James "Bus" Cook, confirmed that Favre planned to fly to Green Bay on Sunday and report to the Packers on Monday. "That's the plan," Cook said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. Packers officials planned to greet Favre upon his arrival to Green Bay. Favre does not plan to attend the sold-out Packers Family Night at Lambeau Field, which more than 60,000 fans were expected to attend. Favre's imminent presence in training camp could cause a major disruption to the team and sets up scenarios of either a competition with Aaron Rodgers for the starting job or the Packers continuing to work on finding a trade partner for the former league MVP and Super Bowl champion. Favre retired in March but has been having second thoughts for weeks. Team officials have maintained that if Favre returned to the Packers, it would be in some role other than as the starter -- and have said Rodgers is their starter. Publicly, team officials have ruled out releasing Favre, likely for fear he would sign with division-rival Minnesota. Goodell told the NFL Network on Saturday that he thinks the situation has lingered long enough. "I think we have to force it," Goodell said. "I think it's come to the point where there needs to be some decisions made on behalf of the Packers, on behalf of Brett, on behalf of all the fans."

Well, I am what I eat. You just left the door wide open on that one.
  5. I was just trying to have some fun by mentioning an obscure 90's catch phrase. Anybody remember what its from?
  6. I haven't read anything on this. Did he ask to leave the Reds? Whats the back story on all of this?
  7. Torre is going to turn the Dodgers around. Mark my words. The Dodgers will be in the World Series within the next 3-4 years.
  8. That dipshit who tried to call in the Artillery strike within 200 meters of the platoons location. That was funny as hell when the Lt said he wasnt going to do it because he had the worng coordinates. Did you hear the guy on the radio questioning him and then put him on hold while he green lighted the other artillery strike. Yet another reason I couldnt be in the military. It burns me up inside to be around ignorance like that. I think I might actually need counseling. ;D Your Chinese connection again?
  9. HBO's been doing real well lately with its Mini Series. (off topic - John Adams took 23 Emmy Nominations) I wonder if Captain America will catch some blue on blue fire in one of these episodes?
  10. That hurts when you disagree with me Chili. I'm wasnt aware of anyone elses suspensions. Without knowledge of those it would be impossible for me to compare the two. I was speaking as a clan leader based on how I would react if it were one of my guys. This was a joke taken to far. IMO. My comment wasnt based on how long he was suspended but rather his actions. I would have done the same thing Saint did. Probably more. Honor and Integrity. We all make mistakes though and this one is done and over. He's learned his lesson and will deserve the same 2nd chance others have gotten recently.
  11. I think it was that serious. Regardless of how you feel about someone in this community creating another name to openly slam and make fun of someone is not how it should be handled. Saint - Good call. Well handled.
  12. I should of clarified on the mass boot. Last night there was a mass boot that caused multiple rooms to be shut down at the same time. And dont get me wrong there are plenty of things that I could complain about when it comes to COD4. I agree with Chili though, playing COD4 in private matches is an absolute blast. We've had a couple of Black Ops Parties that were started in private matches. You can set up some crazy matches. And I've yet to be bounced out of a private match. As I stated before too, these will be the same complaints we have about Confrontation a few months after it comes out. So we'll just need to learn to role with it and vent when we get the chance. Nothing will change. IMO.
  13. Not bad still means there's lag. I just played Socom last night, because of this thread, and saw an ass load of lag. Not to mention the mass boot that happened.
  14. you just killed my excitement. Sorry J-Rite. I'm a realistic pessimist. If its any consolation, I do it to everyone. ;D
  15. Damn it. I started the download last night then flipped over to watch TV. When I flipped back over my PS3 had restarted. I thought it was done. Now I'm reading there's a chance it may not be done yet. Damn. Where does it tell me what version I have? And did any of you notice the warning that popped up about shutting your PS3 down while downloading and the option box for shutting down the PS3 after the download? I didn't notice either of those on the last download.
  16. You guys have to know that Confrontation will eventually become just like Socom CA and COD4. A glitching lag fest. If it never becomes so, then we'd never move on to the next game. If we dont move on to the next game software companies loose money. So in the end every complaint we have will again be echoed within 8-10 months of Confrontations release.

    Earthquake!!!

My wife just called me from LA cussing me out for not calling to make sure she was OK. After explaining to her that I had no clue, since I'm on the EAST COAST and don't have the news on, and asking her if she was alright, she said it shook the shit out of the building she was in. She wasn't sure how big it was but knew it was big enough to make her not ever want to move California.
  18. I'd like to see a Rock Band 80's Hair Band collection. Some Ratt, Motley Crue, Dokken, WhiteSnake, Iron Maiden, etc, etc, etc.
  19. No way. If you have people over at your house regularly' date=' the Wii is the way to go. In our house it has replaced board games almost entirely. When people come over they wanna play, Mario Party, Wii play or sports, Super smash brothers, and all those other cool party games. [/quote'] One of us is throwing lame ass parties then. All anyone wants to do at my parties is get drunk and get the women naked. I never thought about breaking out the Wii. ;D
