Well if this was a thread concerning an game related issue then I can fully understand any anger or frustration from my opinion on the matter. I sent hawk an apology since I did not intend to take any sides nor was I aware of any ulterior aspect of this thread if that is the case. Like I said, I don't use them but that doesn't mean I treat those that do disrespectfully, they are part of the game and whether I use them or not does not give me the right to tell someone else how to play the way they want to. I hold the developers at fault for simply not taking more into consideration in their inclusion of the weapons, I don't hold the choice to use them against any player. If I don't want to play against someone that uses them then all I have to do is find a room where they aren't included. Everyone paid the same money I did to play Socom, using something that is legitimately included by the developers is not something I have any right to complain about. Sure I don't use them but that's my choice and nothing I hold anyone else to. Hell I don't like getting shot in the back.. period! I prefer you fight me like a man! LOL.. however I'm not going to cry about it, how sad would it be to say.. whaaa you noob you shot me in the back! .. that's not fair! you got no skills! whaaa whaa whaaa.. .. or something like.. YOU suck! we had six against your one and you hid and camped!! why didn't you come out in the middle of the street and shout "Here I am!" so we could kill you! YOU camper!! errr yeah, hopefuly I made my point, opinions are just that opinions, how I choose to play the game doesn't give me the right to tell someone else they have to play the way I want them to. LOL I happen to agree with you though, if you don't like RPG's or anything else for that matter in a room, nothing is stopping you from leaving and making a new room or joining one without them.. as far as the ranked rooms, Slant 6 has announced the inclusion of the ability to disallow them in ranked rooms as an option which is suppose to be included in the next update, so having to have them in ranked rooms may be finally an option. peace yo, Goat. p.s. my opinion has nothing to do with any specific war or game.. It is only as to the use of the weapons in general.. I'm not taking sides one way or another on whatever happened in a game last night or any night for that matter.. Like I said my opinions are ones that I've had for a long time, issues concerning any game, round, etc.. were not even known by me, more less are my opinions directed to it.

Yep it might be a Goat post, but this is something I’ve had a strong opinion about for a long time. GL’s and RPG’s in Socom should not be used. For me its not because of any noob weapon theory, its simply because Socom didn’t include them correctly. As a personal opinion only, I don’t use either the RPG nor the GL. Although as mentioned the weight can be a factor, for me it wouldn’t matter if it wasn’t. I still would not use them. The most sound reason as given by others is the lack of vehicles. RPG’s are truly considered as anti-vehicle ordinance. I agree that without vehicles they should not be included in the game. Also since the premise of Socom is that of the Navy Seals: Seals often would not carry Rocket launchers in order to maintain the ability to move quietly, in stealth, undetected with a primary goal in place. Their ability to perform a mission quickly and efficiently in a professional manner is held in high regard. For me the most important reason is its against the rules of engagement of the Geneva Convention. There is a section of the GC that states anti-vehicle ordinance is not allowed to be used on personnel. So if you are on the Seals, they should not even be available, however as a terrorist which do not follow any Geneva Convention rules I would say in real life they are not concerned with the rule that a US Navy Seal would be forced to follow. So using a RPG by a terrorist against personnel isn’t unheard off. In this case though, their use should not be without risk. The poor condition often times the weapon is in as well as the limitation and availability of ammunition should be reflected in the game. In other words, ok the terrorist can carry an RPG and not the seals, but it doesn’t always work out. Firing one will sometimes result in the weapon exploding and killing the one firing it, or else the rocket malfunctions and either does not explode or has a chance of going astray and killing either your team mates, yourself or both. If this was the case choosing to load out an RPG even though its only available to the terrorist side would not be without hazard. Also when a terrorist has a RPG strapped to their back, fire from a Seals weapon which contacts the weapon can often result in it exploding killing the carrier or else damaging the weapon and rendering it inoperable. And one more consideration, the back blast of a RPG is far grater in real life than their use in the game portrays. Firing one with your back too close to a wall, vehicle, team mates or other obstacle would result in the users or other personnel in the blast area serious injury or death. Again if the game was like this I believe the choice to load out an RPG would be greatly reduced almost to the point of no need to disallow them. Carry them if you want to, good luck with that. The GL’s are a different story. Since they are considered anti personnel, just like a hand thrown grenade. The grenade launcher’s benefit is the increase of range over hand thrown and a wider variety of grenades. Today’s under barrel GL’s no longer interfere with the sights of the rifle like they did when they were first introduced, but the addition of the under barrel GL does add a significant penalty in the bulk and weight of the combined weapon. Far more than the encumbrance given in Socom. The added weight to the rifle also results in a significant loss of accuracy especially when fired in automatic or semi-automatic mode for any length of time. Therefore the choice to load out a GL would not be without its drawbacks. Encumbrance should be far greater, accuracy for the rifle should be greatly decreased and just like in real life it should not be without a chance of jamming, misfire, duds and occasional mishaps given a risk to its use. So its not the use of these weapons that bothers me so much as the way Socom has not held true to the issues a soldier faces when electing to carry and use a weapon of this nature. Although they did do a fair job on the encumbrance the loading of a RPG brings, it should be even greater with even more penalties and risk in the choice. The same goes for the GL. If they had the taken into consideration the negative aspects of their use then we would not have to worry about disallowing them in games as much as we do.

A Most Recent Socom horror story… I’ve got similar complaints but all in all haven’t felt it was dramatically bad. That was until last night.. Last evening I did the usual, turn on the Ps3.. switch my TV inputs.. make sure my mic works. Sign into PSN. Put in my Disk and start up the game. As soon as I logged into the Socom servers, I got a game invite from a fellow clan mate. As usual I accepted, went to the game and joined the lobby. Just like I’ve done a number of times.. I watched the current round in spectator mode and waited to join in. The next round starts and I see my character.. Since far too often my custom controller setting isn’t on. I went to settings selected my configuration and quickly resumed the game. But the game didn’t resume.. my character did not reappear.. I seemed to be in spectator mode? My controls did nothing for the game, yet were fully functional to access the XMB. I was able to go back and forth to the settings screen again by the start button but hitting select did nothing.. I assumed I was killed already since the map was frostfire, it doesn’t take long if you hang around at spawn too long.. so I waited and hoped it would fix itself for the next round. The game continued on for everyone else.. with a little over a minute left. I started getting messages from the XMB. “Goat what†“R U doing?†“u R only 1 left†“It’s 1v1 “ “go get him†during all of this, my view was confined to a first person view of the area in front of me and nothing else, I could not move the camera, I could not see even see my character more or less fire any weapon. I didn’t think I was even in the game?? Deciding to ride it out I watch the lone enemy come in and out of my view several times, a mere foot or so from my viewpoint.. Guess its hard to find an invisible player? Finally the game ends.. IN A DRAW.. goat figgur? LOL I see the game stats screen and then the lobby, I try to say something but as soon as I key the mike… Bam! The Ps3 freaks out.. it shuts off (what the? Not even the frozen screen? Just shuts down by itself? Never seen that one before?) I hit the power button and I get a message I dreaded seeing… “critical system error†with some error number.. “system requires reinstallation of system software†NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Next message was something about click x to continue.. please do not shut down the console during the installation.. etc etc.. I didn’t click X… I turned it off.. got on the internet trying to find information on what the hell just happened. Today I called Sony, and had them walk me through saving my game files, settings and other stuff I did not want to lose before this reinstall thing… Its back on, I did lose some stuff and I had to redo the connection settings.. I haven’t put Socom in yet… I’m worried.. I’ve never see anything like this… this could not have been good for my console… Like I said, I haven’t really complained that much so far.. That has changed dramatically since last night.

It is absolutely against the law to shoot a dog. There are animal cruelty laws not only on the state level but federal as well. I don’t care how annoyed your neighbor gets with the animal. Your neighbor is being an ass just for suggesting it. But I’m not exactly on your side either. To be honest: it’s not the animals fault, its the owners fault. Regretfully its your fault bro. Although the penalties are not that great and in many states are considered a misdemeanor and carry a medium fine for penalty. It is still unlawful. Only in the case of protection of life or limb, i.e. the dog attacks you or a person: is lethal force justified and even then, animal rights groups would bitch about it. You would have more lawyers protecting the dog than the person who was injured or maimed. The neighbors only legal recourse is to call animal control and file a complaint. That said, its your dog, hence your responsibility. Do what ever it takes to avoid putting your dog at risk. The breed you have is considered an indoor dog, they shouldn’t be left to roam outside anyway, you need to take him for walks instead of just letting him out in the back yard.. you’re being lazy bro. Ultimately even if your neighbor breaks the law, you’re negligence in caring for your pet is to blame. So yeah you’re neighbor already broke the law by the threat to injure your dog. However, responsibility lies totally with you to protect the one’s you love. That includes your dog.

believe it or not about two years ago one of my customers actually had one of those installed. I had to run a cable (RF line) for it.. which I had a modulated channel from one of the sat receivers on it since the TV didn't have any input besides ant/cable. (yeah a media input for an ipod yet it only had a cable input and not even basic composites.. sad!.. ) I thought it was cool but I also thought it was way over priced since the electronics were sub par.. (cheap foreign made knock offs). I was right since it didn't even make it a year before both the TV as well as the speaker went. The customer replaced it with a hot tub after only a little more than a year. basically its a cheap piece of you know what.. made by a company in Riau, Indonesia their site is here PT SPA Indonesia but thanks for thinking of me and including some A/V stuff.. Actually I can do a bit a plumbing but I hate it. Hell I started remodeling the basement bath two years ago and I still haven't finished... I got as far as the tile work on the new shower and when I realized I had to bust up the floor to tap into the drain I decided to wait until I had more time.. that was over a year ago.. LMAO!

IMO if they have tags in front of their ID than they are not available. POINT BLANK! I don’t care how good a KILLA they are. We’re more interested in attitude and honor than skills any way. We recruit by posting a recruit statement at the PSN forums as well as providing information to any gunner that ask. Only those that have no tags are questioned without being asked as to if they would be interested in joining PBK. Our members get it all the time from other clans,, heck some of them are even our allies.. LOL. It doesn’t matter for us they don’t realize we’re PBK 4-life.. Clan hoppers don’t last long in PBK. With a core membership of guys that have been together for six years or more, nobody is going anywhere else anyway. For each five new guys we try out we usually get one or two that have staying power.

Yep, Big money.. I know that bro.. actually I haven't even played with D_dub in socom yet.. It was just fun to say it.. since if he was able to connect.. his hit detection latency allowance would mean if he shot anywhere within 20 feet of someone they would die!!! LOL. I'm wasn't' kidding about image's upload speed though.. that's just crazy fast.. I'm jealous! and it almost matches his download speed.. which Socom claims matching upload/download speeds is the optimal connection rate. I have actually lowered my download rate to try to match my upload.. didn't notice any difference.. 18 megs up and down though!! wow.. is all I can say..

Unfortunately that little change would have up'd the price another two bills. Again it has to do with signal desegregation. You simply can't split HDMI like you can cable, even a cable splitter drops the db output 3-5 db's. with HDMI the signal just can't handle being split without proper application to insure no signal loss. In much the same way you can't split the 15pin output of your pc and to run two video outputs you need two video cards. Running both DVI and 15pin outputs off the same card seldom works well if at all. You need a distrubution amp something like this.. It's the reason I doubt the HK will do it by itself, however if your TV has a hdmi or RGB output you may be able to run the HDMI to it then use its output to go to the HAVA.

hmmm good question. You're asking if it can output over both the HDMI and the RGB at the same time? I know it won't output both HDMI and composite or S-video.. why would you want that anyway since it upconverts.. but since RGB is actually HDMI without the audio it may very well do that. Rather or not you get a HDMI splitter or distribution out of it is the question. Normally output to several units requires a distribution amp so the signal doesn't degrade. However I'm not sure if it's just two it won't do it.. I'll get one of my guys to test it out or else just give the HK rep a em and ask. I'll get back to you. The price range on the 384 is in the 400 range although that's last year model number and a new series is already out.. I'm sure you can get a 384 for under 400 if you shop around.

My top choice for this year and next is Harman Kardon.. for example their AVR384 is priced good at the $400 range.. and it blows the doors off the competition for hook ups.. three HDMI inputs. Upscaling and upconverting builit in.. (which means you can hook up your old VCR to the composites and have it upscaled to HDMI output.) a horde of other features.. HK continues to be the top choice.. although self built PC HD home media systems are getting closer. HK AVR384

And that’s only if she sue’s you to get it. The police have nothing to say about it.. only a judge can order restitution not the police dept.
