So, I was getting worried about my li'l buddy Sniper all day today because he lives down in hurricane alley in Texas right now. During the day today, our phone call got interrupted 3x because his power kept flickering off. Then the rest of the afternoon up until about 30 mins ago, I couldn't reach him on the phone at all.

He JUST called me from a cell phone to let me know he's ok.

His neighborhood got hit with some mad winds that started tearing his roof up a bit. He was able to call me because he's in the EYE of the storm and they're expecting another blast of everything in a while. His power is currently out and has been for half the day. He let me know that he's hungry (because they don't want to let the cool out of the fridge....he jokingly asked me to send him some food. I can only assume he meant some tacos or something else from his minority background) and all he has are books right now......and he wants his internet back! (LOL) It's pretty hot and humid inside his place right now because all their windows, like their neighbors', are boarded up shut. With no electricity, they don't have really good air flow going on right now.

He said he'll call me later on in the evening to let me know how things are going out there.

Give the boy some well wishes and love so he can see he was missed when he gets back......because the bastard cries a lot on the phone with me when I don't give him enough attention.

Hopefully Sniper and his family (and their home) will make it out ok.

I got off the phone with Sniper a little while ago.

Power is still out and they're not getting any updates as to when their neighborhood and surrounding ones will regain power again.

The other half of the storm passed over him and it then got downgraded to "tropical storm."

His home is intact and he's doing well. Still boarded up and hot as hell in there! LOL

I'm sure I'll get another update in the morning.

Good luck, I know how it feels. I worked in South East Asia for awhile just in time for Typhoon season......if you have never seen a Filipino worker get blown from one end to another end of a Superfund site, well then your just plain missing out......especially when your the one to has go out and drag him back:)

Yea, I've been in touch with SNIPER 'outside' of this forum. Just now saw this, so I'm wishing him safeness as well! I'm new to Tex-ass, and in the Northern part. When he told me how he was only an hour north of where 'Dolly' was supposed to hit, I was like 'thats not very far from Brownsville!'

~ but then he will SOON see these forum posts, and 'know' that we are here if he needs us, just like we always need him!Our Website, this Signature...are just a 'small part' of "His World"...that 'we all live in!' ;D

Thanks for the well wishes guys. We made it just fine. The hurricane strengthened to a category 2 when it made landfall and downgraded to a 1 by the time it reached us but man the wind was strong. I didn't think it was that bad but when I went cruising around the neighborhood, EVERY house had fallen trees and branches and debris everywhere, it looked like a warzone. The worst part was no power for almost 2 days, sitting in the dark living room with a couple of candles doing nothing but reading a book all day. No TV, video games, internet, air con...enough to make you go insane...lol During that time I was thinking how it must've sucked living in the middle ages. No wonder they were warring and killing each other all the time. If they would've just had internet, they would've been too busy surfing for porn instead of killing each other and we would have world peace. ;)

Sniper I have found that situations like that DO in fact make a man edgy and ready for battle. It has been my experience that there is really only one solution.

Sneak off from the fam, and head to your bedroom. Get a pair of the missus undies and go put em on. They need to be silk, or another soft material. Thongs don't work (well at least for me) to well. Now walk around the house, and soon your start feeling ALOT better.

Seriously man, you will start feeling down right pretty. Give it a try next time.
