THAT IS CONSIDERED CAMPAIGNING AND NO ONE CAN CAMPAIGN WITHIN X AMOUNT OF FEET TO THE POLLS.

2.rule 245.45, Congressional Election Committee, the bylaw states :said rule applies NOT to McCain voters, who are entitled to two (2) votes per person, IF, upon entering the voting station, propsective republican voter displays large, colorful shirts, pins or hats".

As true and sad as this is, it's also a sign of howmuch the republican party has been able to pervert the US election system. The winner of this election will be determined by the resolve and the amount of bright and colorful hats worn by MacCain/Palin voters.

I'm sorry, I had to edit this post because I left out some shit, and felt I should add, to drive my point home... Did you watch the news when Palin was at ground zero and was asked to comment on Ted Stevens troubles, and she wouldn't....LoL...I thought she was the ONE that spoke out against the CORRUPT OLD BOYS CLUB....LoL... Sadly even though it has been shown that Stevens and Young are Total scumbags that McCain and Palin are MAVERICKS against, they wont call em out, most likely will be re-elected...Funny ennit..

So Stevens should be considered guilty before the investigation or trial are finished? Innocent until proven guilty no longer a right in America? You want Palin to convict Stevens in the court of public opinion? What happens if Stevens turns out to be innocent? House Representative Murtha convicted Marines of war crimes in the court of public opinion, so far all but one of those Marines have been exonerated and now Murtha as of two days ago is being sued in federal court for slander by one of those Marines.

Not only is Palin correct to assume someone is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law, it's also a Constitutional right for all American citizens.

The truth is, people have been fired, forced to resign, and some even put on trial and put in jail because of Governor Palin. Some of them were republicans.

Barrack Obama knows people who are in jail too, they are campaign supporters and fundraisers for Obama. That's proven because Rezko's trial is over and he was convicted.

LOL

No that's not true. You can wear whatever pin, t-shirt, or hat you wish when you vote. You may not be allowed to carry your sign in with you to vote, but that is most likely to be determined by the voting officials at the local voting station.

The rule about campaigning at a voting station is clear, you can't. There will be a sign at the voting station that will state "NO CAMPAIGNING BEYOND THIS POINT". And that rule apply's to all political parties.

"ABC News' Rachel Martin Reports: Former U.S.Secretary of State Henry Kissinger today told an audience in Washington, DC that the U.S. should negotiate with Iran "without conditions" and that the next President should begin such negotiations at a high level."

From Barack Obama's perspective, he's saying the United States government, "under his administration", should be willing to meet with these people and open up talks. His statement, however, makes it sound like he wants to start on the Presidential level, skipping the normal negotiations and preparations.

Henry Kissinger agrees our governments should talk, and that the United States shouldn't make a lot of demands before it will even consider sitting down to discuss matters. He, however, does not agree with the idea of the President starting these things off without preparing, and without allowing mid-level diplomats do a good bit of the groundwork.

John McCain is portraying Barack Obama's position to mean "I want to skip the diplomacy and start having dinner dates with these guys without finding out anything about them".

'Kissinger and John McCain', are intentionally misunderstanding Barack Obama's position so they can get other people to turn against it. They are 'FRIENDS!'...

I fully believe in innocent until proven guilty....But when you are campaigning as a MAVERICK that took on the OLD BOYS CLUB, and they were named by name (Frank,Ted ,and Don to name a few)..Such right wing hacks as Mark Levin, Newt Gingrich, & Rush Limbaugh have been recoreded citing this as one of her accomplishements. (Yes I listen to those idiots, I also watch Olberman, and listen to Stephanie Miller, Mike Malloy, & Ed Schultz on the left, as well as watch CSPAN, and listen to Ron Silver in the Middle because I likie to hear what all sides are saying) But back to my point... If you are going to claim that shit on your record and recieve kudos from the base, then why not speak out against them, after all she is a MAVERICK.... Well maybe she might of if he wasnt up for re-election......LoL.... Theres your MAVERICK... Remember all the house repubs that bit the dust when they where on the Clinton witch hunt... rember that??? The repubs that were exposed by low life Larry Flint. The just bowed out at the word of a pornagrapher....LoL... No investigation, No congressional probe...They just quit....This is kinda the same thing, except Ted BROKE THE LAW....But its ok, he's running for re-election.

I'm still searching for the poll they were talking about last night that showed her actually down 14 points from a couple of weeks ago. I'll post if I find it.

So who's right? Kissinger did in fact say a few days earlier at a forum of former secretaries of state that he favors very high-level talks with Iran – without conditions:

IF a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his ass when he jumped.

Just in case you missed this in the other thread Hog...

Poll: Palin's Approval Rating Drops in Alaska

by RandyMI, Wed Sep 24, 2008 at 04:00:53 AM EST

The more people learn about Sarah Palin, the less they like her. That has certainly been true on the national, and, according to a new Ivan Moore Reasearch poll, the same is happening in Alaska as well.

In a new survey conducted September 20-22, Ivan Moore Research finds Sarah Palin's positive-negative rating in Alaska taking a real hit, for the first time since Palin was elected in November 2006. The survey was conducted with 500 likely voters in the State of Alaska, for a margin of error of 4.4%. The track of the last five Palin ratings is as follows, along with a comparison point from January 2008:

SURVEY

Rating --

January 2008 --------------------------- 82-11

July 18-22, 2008 ----------------------- 76-18

July 30-31, 2008 ----------------------- 78-15

August 9-12, 2008 ---------------------- 80-13

August 30-September 2, 2008 ------------ 82-13

September 20-22, 2008 ---------------68-27

The mid-July poll was fielded just after the Trooper Wooten controversy broke. The positive rating of 76% was down from previous measures in the 80's. Despite negative press from the Troopergate issue, the subsequent three polls through the end of September showed Palin's positive rating steadily increasing, and her negative steadily dropping. But in the last three weeks, we've seen damage, with a swing of 14 points from her positive to her negative.

There is no disputing that 68% is still high, of course there is also no indication that her slide is over yet. I have been reading that part of her high approval rating was due to $100+/barrel oil and the generous $1200 checks that went out to residents. Hell, if she gave me $1200 even I would smile. Another factor, I believe, is that the national spotlight is much more likely expose your shortcomings than an easily managed state press corps. Again, her numbers are still high, but let' see if she has stopped the slide.

http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/9/24/4053/69996

Guess that frogs asses ain't hitting the ground no more. LOL I found it buddy. It's not 80% anymore my good conservative friend. It's 68%... which still is high as the article says. You better hope she hits is out of the park this Thursday though, or she's toast. ;D

WarPig, I commented on poll sources you used in the presidential debate thread, you ain't going to like it.... :P. MyDD.com and Progressive Alaska (origin of poll you referenced) blog sites? OK, that's fine. I'll let everyone choose for themselves if those poll numbers mean anything.

Rev, on Stevens I submit the following:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/29/stevens.trial/index.html

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Ted Stevens, the Alaska Republican on trial for corruption, asked that his case be dismissed because the prosecution sent a key witness home with information that was not disclosed to the defense.

Judge Emmet Sullivan on Monday let loose a tirade at the prosecution, but suggested he still was not inclined to dismiss the case.

"What gave you authority to tell him: 'You can leave?' Why wasn't I consulted about that?" the judge demanded.

"We're very sorry about that," prosecutor Nicholas Marsh responded.

But Sullivan was not finished.

"Someone exercised authority, and then by the way, we're not going to tell the judge either. All the attorneys had a conversation Saturday, and no one thought to call the judge?"

The witness in question is Rocky Williams, the foreman for the extensive renovations of Stevens' home at the heart of the case. Williams has now returned to Alaska without testifying for either side in the case.

Williams' testimony could be critical to determining the value of the work on the house, and therefore whether Stevens could reasonably be thought to have paid market price. He remains under subpoena, and defense attorneys say they still intend to call him October 6.

I read on the AP wire today that Williams testimony was expected to be benefical to Steven's defense, so the Prosecuter's tried to silence Williams by sending him away and hiding him from the defense. They got a word for that, it's call Prosecutial Misconduct.

Now I am not defending Stevens. If he's guilty, put him in jail, no complaints from me. But I am defending Stevens' right to a fair trial, and also Palin's stance to assume Stevens is innocent until proven guilty. As American citizens, we all deserve no less.

This is the problem I see too much of. You are willing to support and let another scum bag like Stevens ride when if you look at the evidence even just NOW as it's presented, he's guilty as shit. You want to let high priced attorney's spin this and get him off. I say dump him... dump all these scum bags! And that's including the Dems also. All of them! Jefferson, Foley, Craig, Renzi, Vitter... I mean the list is ridiculous. I'm all for innocent until proven guilty. But most of these scum bags have been found guilty and we let them stay in office and then have the gull to pay for the retirement of like 2ooK a year for life!!!!!! It's a broken system and we need to keep draining the swamp and NOT defend these dirt bags!

And I replied over there in the other also. I knew you wouldn't address her falling numbers and just deflect and discredit the site. ::)

Just a word of thanks to everyone on this thread..

Although it came close on a number of occasions, which can be expected I guess?, for the most part the debate here has not got out of hand. Politics as you all know can often be the cause of heated debates turned into personal insults. While ragging on a candidate, a party, a system or a government is fine, heck we all do it from time to time, ragging on one another because of political differences isn’t. And you all did a good job of holding to that. From reading all the pages, (yes even the long post I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t! LOL) I can tell a couple of times it could have easily turned for the worst, and things got close, but it didn’t and stating in a “in my opinion†or “I can respect your opinion, although I disagree†way has led to an excellent UF community political debate here. Probably the first of its kind.

Sure I’ve been having a bit of fun with my injection of “Goat styled Humorâ€, its only an

attempt for a bit of comic relief since I prefer to keep my political views to myself. That however doesn’t mean I haven’t enjoyed reading the opinions others have put forth in this thread. Good stuff and nice job of keeping it real while maintaining respect of one another.

Now that that’s out of the way.. I’ve decided on my running mate!

I know for a real I could sit with Red or Hog and have a beer with them and shoot the shit in real life and be ok with everything. If you look at my politico profile I have many repubs, conservatives, dems, indies, liberals... etc. I think that say a lot about a person.

I like the way your ticket is looking, although I think Janis Joplin would make a better secretary of state. ;D
