I seen a question and answer topic posted on the playstation.com forums but they took it down. Basically it consisted of around 20 questions and had around 30 screenshots of someone playing crossroads and customizing their character. some of the questions i remember are: the guy said it felt like a mix of socom 1 and socom 2. and felt nothing like socom 3 or CA There are only 50 people in the closed beta shots to kill were: light armor 3-4 shots Medium armor 4-5 and heavy armor 5-6 shots (this is the one that I'm not liking) He also mentioned the strafing speed feeling correct but slower then socom 2

Wow that would be really tough for them to put together a tourney in the beta time frame. They usually have the tournaments well thought out and i think it would be near impossible to get one organized without seeing the game and having only 4 weeks after seeing it to complete the tourney.

it goes live on sept 1st and the in laws are visiting starting on the 4th.... Maybe my wife misght want some alone time with her family....while i play socom

I'm glad i didn't click the link after all. I have been spending around 30 minutes to an hour a day researching the socom beta and here is what i know so far.... They haven't announced when it will come out. Someone on the forums said that at comic-con the producer said it will be out mid september but that doesn't make sense since the game is released mid October. From what i know the private beta hasn't even started yet but it should start very soon. That will consist of a small number of invite only beta testers. So basically no official announcement and a bunch of iffy information from random people. I hope they announce something soon though.

I have another one...Does anyone else have a problem with the controller loosing signal for around 20 seconds when playing wireless? This happens to me around once for every 5-10 hours of gameplay. It really sucks when it happens though since you cant really pause the game in an online shooter.

I thought it was a great movie. Was anyone else annoyed with the Maggie Gyllenhaal? Too bad they couldn't stick with katie holmes for the part. -
game industry people play games thats why they got into the industry and dealt with its downfalls for so long. You probably play with a bunch of people that are in the industry.

The multiplayer is like icing on the cake for me. The single sounds awesome. Only 2 more weeks.....Hope my wife likes the game because im going to be spending a lot time on it.

Understandable, i like the game right now and it is my #1 choice to play but i can’t vouch for its long-lasting activity. A new patch has not been released but they did fix 80% of the connection problems with a server side patch.

I know it was a big move to include COD4, so I'm wondering if this community is going to continue to grow by adding this game also?

just had some yesterday morning....Your right about the hangover cure. For the people who now know what it is and think its gross your probably not going to like it. The trick is to have someone try it first so it doesn't have a preconceived gross factor.

I have bought -RB6 Vegas 2 -Mario Galaxy Plan on buying -GTA 4 -Fallout 3 -Socom Confrontation -MGS 4 -Mario cart for the wii -RatRace Downloadable PSN title Those are the ones im excited about but it all is based on how much game time i can gather up.

I blame marketing. They marketed all this stuff before it even hit alpha. Thats a rough mildstone to hit when everyone including the companies providing engines are still getting used to the platform. They had these schedules set as if these things were just going to be larger versions of ps2 games only to realize that quality is going to take some tricks and time to learn those tricks.I'm pretty contempt though I'm having fun with both COD4, Vegas 2 and mario galaxy. I don't even have enough time to play all the games i want to buy or complete like mass effect, uncharted, paper mario, Zelda, Darkness. There have been a lot of good games released this year and the flow seems to keep coming.

yes but after getting passed the nooby nades, which was a tactic in itself because they were only use full if you had the right spawn and knew where to throw them so it took practice, searching the map for the other team was more fun then it was a burden. In 1 round you could check 90% of the hiding spots before it ended which is why elimination(suppression) worked so well. By making the maps bigger there loosing that feeling. It seems that most of you like the new look of socom (Large maps and player counts that rival battlefield) so i doubt many of you would share my opinion.

I'm worried about the maps being twice the size. I still don't understand why they wouldn't/couldn't keep the maps small/midsized and lower the player count to 16 total. The large player count games are just not fun to me, too much twitch play.
