For the immediate future, UF will cater to military shooters on the Playstation console. If many of you have been paying attention to UF, we have a v ery CONTROLLED growth rate, and hopefully, as faithfuls to this tourney site, you appreciate that. Sniper and I are very much NOT concerned with growing as fast as we humanly can because, as in most businesses, focus can be lost and quality can be compromised. We made this an invitation-only tourney to control quality. We stayed on Socom only for years to control quality. We surveyed other games and didn't just jump on Warhawk and Vegas to control quality. We evaluated CoD4 heavily before accepting it to control quality. We choose, for now, to expand by a GAME and not expand to another whole console to control quality. "QUALITY," in Sniper's and my humble opinion, is what WE believe truly separates Urgent Fury from so many other gaming sites that emulate what we do here. We believe we're the front-runners for both mechanics and quality in a scenario-based tournament site. We're careful in the decisions we make because we know there are others out there who would like to take our place as the disputable #1 scenario-based tournament site. So we make our decisions based on moving forward with quality control rather than moving forward to always become bigger, bigger and bigger, consequences-be-damned. I won't go on record to say that UF will "never" go to Xbox. That would be presumptuous and potentially foolish. However, what I will say is that every move we make is to insure that UF stays at the TOP of its game and that when clans, your clans, continue to come to Urgent Fury, you get EXACTLY what you came for, and that's for a superbly run tourney with all the functional bells and whistles that makes you and your clan love this Community. We don't consider any other tourney that wants to go after Xbox and design something there a "threat," because Xbox is not our focus right now....so Godspeed to them and good luck with it. When/if we ever DO go in the Xbox direction, we'll do so with the quality we've always exhibited and feel confident in our potential to create our own niche. We're sorry that a clan like LTU and maybe some others are sort of "frozen out" of the UF experience, because I regard LTU as one of our finer establishments here. However, all clans knew/know where UF makes its bed and any choice to go to the Xbox is your own choice. Urgent Fury will continue building upon the Playstation3 landscape. Hopefully this can answer and current and future questions regarding Urgent Fury's stance on expansion and focus for tournaments on the PS3 and other potential platforms. - TOW

They're not added in any particular order other than the order in which they were submitted to UF when we put the listing up. It will continue with that. If anything, it just gives the clans that were with us at the time, and most likely for the long haul, the opportunity to be listed near the top.

Maybe it was or maybe it wasn't. I can understand that. But I'm almost certain that there might be at least ONE person here who is of a descent that opinions or jokes such as these might come off as very offensive or intolerable.....considering the "climate" of the immigration debates in recent years. That's all. Some people here might equate this as intolerable of a suggestion as, say, hating Jews. In either or any case, we shouldn't try to tolerate that angle. At least not here, where like America, ALL ethnicities and ALL races come to group together to simply enjoy a video game. I know I got heavy there....but at the same time, joking, especially blind joking, can sometimes stab someone hard.

I think a fence is an ignorant idea. Didn't agree with it when it was proposed, don't agree with it now. It fosters more of a "we got here first so nyaa" attitude instead of one that actually makes some sense. The immigration overload problem here, much like many of our problems in this country, are exacerbated by our willingness to only put "so much effort" into coralling and maintaining the level of the problem, instead of outright addressing and controlling the problem. Â The US has historically put more resources into our military might (which I don't have a problem with) than it does in our own country's education, law enforcement and, yes, immigration overload (which, contrasting my OWN assessment on military spending, I DO have a problem with). Â It's why we'll never win the "war" on drugs, we'll never win the "war" on poverty and we'll never win the "war" on terror. Â We, as an American people, are vastly outnumbered in this world, be it by our neighbors, our enemies or our problems. Â And, because America is basically driven and fueled by commercialism/capitalism, there will never be a full-on country-wide "effort" to right the wrongs here. Â The problems and cancers of our American people. Â We are too divided by race, social status, religion, poverty vs. wealth and, of course, the individual needs/wants that will ALWAYS trump the needs and wants of an entire struggling people. A fence won't do anything. Â ANYTHING. Â It will not keep out immigrants. Â They will find a new way. Â That's what Christopher Columbus did. Â He found a way. Â That's what the pilgrims did. Â They found a way. Â That's what the slaves did. Â They found a way. Â Immigrants, too, will find a way. Â Put up the highest, longest fence you like or just put up the Great Wall of China on loan.....immigrants will still find a way. Where the actual strength is needed is in our concerted effort in regulation. Â But like I said, effective regulation takes manpower that's in ratio with the population or overall mass of problem. Â Look at UF here as an example. Â In the beginning, Sniper and I were able to handle the tourneys we put together. Â Well, now, we're seeing MORE clans coming to UF. Â We have to put together MORE tourneys to accomodate those coming in, and thus, Sniper and I had to take on a Staff to help with the regulation of our tourneys. Â If we were to maintain this forum, update the website, create, launch and maintain both a Black IV and a UF Crucible tourney all on our lonesome, our overall tourney would suffer and you, the people coming to it or already residing in it, would find discontent. Â We couldn't just "put up a wall," because those we want to keep out will STILL find a way in. Â They will change their clan name, change their player names, change WHATEVER to get in. Â It's in our diligent work at making sure bad elements (and I do NOT equate "bad elements with "immigrants" here, I am just using the UF/US comparison) do not make it in and, if they do, don't stay for long. In a perfect world, we could regulate who comes in and out and for how long. Â But that would require TOO much manpower and, honestly, we simply could not, as a country, do that job effectively. Â Breaking that down into simple human nature and reaction....what happens when you cannot do a job well or properly for a long period of time? Â It starts to affect your overall outlook on your job, your performance, and in some cases, yourself. Â Now think of "yourself" as the entire branches of immigration law. Â It's tired and it's running behind. Â NO job is ever EFFECTIVELY completed like that. But no fence, Street. That's not a solution. Â It's just another news broadcast and another chance for a bunch of people to protest and hate one another over.

I think, because this is America, people can ELECT to choose to speak whatever they want. America is MADE UP of all these cultures, not just one, which is why we won't have a unifying language, though I think English "is" the official language, shown predominantly on tv, radio, movies, media, song and books. HOWEVER, if I were an immigrant, not necessarily coming to America, but going to live ANYWHERE where I am considered "foreign," I would make an attempt to learn enough of the native language where I can convey an emergency or call for help. Holding onto one's heritage, culture and language is admirable....something I was unable to do as an American-born Vietnamese/German descendant. But I don't think it should be considered your PRIMARY means of communication in a land where it is NOT the primary....because if you need help, if you're attacked, if someone you love or even a stranger is in trouble, time is of the essence, and sometimes time doesn't allow for locating a translator. As far as the menu thing, I think there's nothing wrong with Spanish being listed second on there. I think with it's emergence here in the US, it pretty much has earned its right to be there.

It's called "Whole Language," and was adopted by many schools as recently as two years ago. It was adopted in some Chicago public schools and in other states I could only assume. Yeah, the PROBLEM with this was that it caused many elementary schools out there to start adopting a system called "secondary spelling" or something....and this is true, as a friend of mine told me that her son's school had adopted this. As it is, the type of spelling in the first post is "ok" by grading standards because it "sounds right." And THAT, my friends, is why China and Japan are laughing at us. It's a cool trick of the mind, to be sure, but at the same time, I was ASTOUNDED to hear that spelling had become lax in many schools. IMAGINE that.....our teachers are getting so lazy, and the students even lazier, that they allow our children to grow up spelling like morons because it "sounds right." This country may very well turn into slathering cavemen punching our idiot boxes looking for the next celebrity news in years to come.

You can run it on your computer>? I would be more inclined to do that than on my PS3. Is there a website for it?

I went to the gym today, looked up at the tv as I walked in, and the Seahawks were up 14-0. I went to run on the treadmill for 20 minutes. I walk back to the tv, and the Pack are up 21-14........ This is a pretty good game, but I don't think the Seahawks belong in the playoffs right now. And I think Green Bay is going to have a say in that as well.

Not trying to be insensitive here, but at the same time, doesn't leaving your PS3 on while you're not at home (say, like a full day at work) pretty much put undue work on your PS3, causing it to potentially burn out on you faster? Or is there some "quiet mode" idle or something when you leave it on that doesn't call up the fan or anything else like that?

Yeah, but even more importantly than solving protein-related illnesses.....does it cause LAG? LOL!
