threads like this are always heated. You have the "rah rah sis boom bah america uber alles" who say they are patriotic because they regurgitate party lines and propaganda slogans, on one side. Then you have the skeptics on the other who dissect every bit of info they can find and sometimes put meanings into something to fit their skepticism. And trapped in the middle are the average, every day American who doesn't really give a shit unless it reaches a 1 mile radius from their area. Add to that all the special interest groups, political agendas, and people who argue just for the sake of feeling like they have a cause....and it is just pointless babble and repitition

just being devil's advocate here but... He brings up a good point. What can one man do against the marketing force of a major league baseball team? Maybe he's not the bad guy he's being painted to be. Think about it...have you ever been in a position where you disagreed with a boss, a teacher, a clan leader, someone higher on the chain of command, whatever...and because of that disagreement (whether it be with principles, actions, etc) that person essentially black listed or managed to smudge your name? Granted, there will always be T.O's and Chad Johnson's in the world..the whiney overpaid bitches...but Manny brought up peace of mind. There are and always will be personality conflicts whenever people get together and because sports and the American mindset is so competitive, those clashes become magnified. So maybe, and I'm just talking out of my ass because i know nothing about America's Most Boring Pasttime, but just maybe he's truly unhappy with the way others have been treated; and because of him being outspoken about it, is suffering from the image backlash imposed upon him by a less scrupulous management. Again, just being devil's advocate, but...its been known to happen. ;D

You should totally get on this "go green" kick that is coming, that has been building up for a while. Its starting to go mainstream now, hell for work I HAVE to be on it, and I'm kinda digging it oops...we'll talk about that later, i'm sure no one here wants to hear about tree humping

lol i'm just giving people a hard time. Its just a matter of what you value. I, personally, will deal with having to mute people on open mics (which really isn't an issue for me since SHO runs deep and at LEAST fills up a whole ground war side a nite), deal with the "noob tubes (again, they're not as annoying as they are in socom and not that many people use 'em anyway), host dropping game (better then a socom boot that takes minutes just to sign back on). The trade off is better graphics, almost no lag, quicker or longer games depending on what you want, the ability to customize the private rooms more, actually getting patches and updates, etc etc. besides..you still have to mute or ignore mic hoggers on socom, deal with "noob tubes" if you go into a room where its not turned off, get booted from socom all the way out and have to sign back in...and with zipper's stupid loading screens, it takes forever (always wished you could 'X' thru the crap), etc etc anyway, could debate all night but its just a matter of taste,and as my friends tell me, mine is champagne

yeah, i did see naked man ass, and that was the best part. I did chuckle at capt. america's stupid antics. but.... its rehashing old standbys. yes, we know soldiers get cynical. yes, they trash their superiors. yes, they get trigger happy. yes, their desk jockey superiors are gung ho and get them in fubar situations. yes, said desk jockey superiors are bucking for rank. so where is the ground breaking shit that made the wire so great? this is tired and done material here. well the nade launchers don't bother me as much on COD as much as they did on socom, they're not as noobish. Or maybe I just don't get killed by them as much. I still make fun of people for using it. As far as mass boots, the time needed to recover from a mass boot is a lot faster, as I get booted all the way out in socom and have to deal with the hassle of the slow sign in process. Teamwork...there IS teamwork in COD lol Granted, I DO believe there is more in socom...but not by an overly large margin. And mainly the reason for that is lack of respawn. You put COD on Search and Destroy, or limit the lives, and you negate that difference easily. You have to list the bad and the good, and the old socom feels like I have to force myself to enjoy it.

oh yeah lol I didnt even mention the mass boots lol Listen, its all about what you're comfortable. Some people just can't be successful in a switch in game types...myself, I was pretty good at socom, I'm pretty good at COD4...but I suck major balls at Warhawk. For anyone that doubts that I can be bad at anything, go check the SHO forums and see my little warhawk stats sig for my stats. I know, I know..its hard to believe. But I digress. Some people can't adjust to the fast paced COD4 style and so go home to the socom they know, and deal with the shitty graphics and the connectivity issues, the laggers, the quicksnipers, and various other things that ruined the game. Others made the switch because of the comforts that the new gen system afforded..better graphics, better gameplay, somewhat consistent updates...and they are doing just fine. Do I think COD is the be all end all? No, not by a long shot. The open mics suck and I'd use the lobby system as my toilet if I could. BUT...it is a better experience. So that leads me to believe that SOCOM for the next gen, if they keep faithful to their lobby system and push to talk mics...will be even better. Maybe not graphically, what I've seen so far is sub-COD, but it will allow the people who couldn't play COD the chance to upgrade to next gen playing and reunite with old friends....again, under a great lobby system (we hope)
